You could have just described my life. 2 years ago a fabulous book called "Nourishing Traditions" by Sally Fallon was recommended to me. Among other things, it describes why refined sugar can cause addictions and WHAT IT DOES TO OUR BODIES. Since reading this I have completely switched to whole sugars such as rapadura, raw…

There is a book by Sally Fallon called Nourishing Traditions that will help with understanding of the breakdown of sugar & how refined sugar affects our body. Since reading this book I have stopped eating things with refined sugars in them. As far as making sweet things at home- raw honey, & pure, organic maple syrup are…

WOW!!! I can't imagine what a change 30lbs will be! How exciting!

Just a quick update. I have been eating close to 2000 calories a day and I plan to drop it back to 1800 next week. But today I was sitting here. FEELING GOOD. FEELING ENERGETIC. HAPPY. It has been a long time since those things were a normal part of my day. I am excited to get a gym membership next week, and I will get my…

Good luck Amanda! I am finding that by eating around 1800-2000 calories, I am pretty ecstatic ha ha, and it makes me have the energy to WANT to work out more. Plus, a better mood always helps too :-)

Wow! This is SUCH proof that we don't need to be only scale focused. Girl, your legs look cellulite free! Good job! Keep it up!
-
Wow. Great Job. Really.

UPDATE! I have been logging my TDEE (and honestly, with the events this weekend, only one day have I done minus %20), AND I LOST A POUND SO FAR! Which is exciting for me after being on a plateau for so long. The rest of that 25lbs better look out, because Im going to get rid of it too! ;-D

Ha ha. I love this. Or maybe just move it a foot away periodically throughout the day

Be strong! I run the front desk at my work and people kept putting a candy dish there. I told them to move it to the breakroom. They didn't, so I did. Im sure someone didn't like it, but I don't like being over weight and feeling crappy when I eat sugar. So the bowl was moved.

Thanks for the questions! I would love to hear these answers too!!!

NICE! That's what I am hoping to do! Break my rut by keeping a consistent 1800 instead of back and forth on my calorie intake. These responses are SO encouraging

Thanks so much!

Good for you! That's great!

Awesome! Thanks for including that!

There are several people interested in improving their health and body image that may not need to lose weight, but actually gain. Or add bulk

The hair looks great too!

 Love it

WOW! That's inspiring. Thanks! I am now at 160 and can't even imagine myself at 125! That's great!

Ha ha. I feel like I am in food Heaven now after trying to log 1200-1500 calories daily. I love it! I'm so excited to start logging at 1800. The thought of it makes me even feel like working out MORE, to know that I won't be hungry at the end of the day! THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE RESPONSES!

Thanks so much for the response!

Wow! Ok, thanks so much ladies! It's sounds high and I'm a little nervous, but going to give it a try. And on days that you DON'T exercise do you drop your cals?

Great job! I was a runner in high school and later had an accident that prevented me from running for years, AND caused a 90lb weight gain in one year because I still ate like a runner and laid around all day. I remember the first time I ventured to jog on the treadmill again after months of only walking. I was at the gym,…

:-) Some groups you do have to send a request to join, but I think we're "In" this one :-) I can see your weight loss bar with a 16lb goal on it when you post. But I too, wonder if a more structured check in would be good

I have been stuck at 160 for years. I would like to bust it out this year and lose the last 26lbs by Nov 30th. I will start with a 1.5lb loss as a goal by Aug 16th so that I don't get discouraged by not meeting an unrealistic goal for me. Wish me luck!

In 3 months from now I would like to have lost 18 lbs- leaving me 8 lbs left to reach my goal of 134. I would like to be confident enough in myself to stick to my workout routine daily, no matter who's opinion it goes against. I would like to find creative ways to workout when at other times I would have found an excuse…

Just to clarify. I gained a lb in a week. I think preventing cheat days by having a slightly higher daily intake makes a lot of sense. I have an office job- I work out 3x a week- which could be increased, but 1500 cals still seems low enough to lose weight for a 30 year old with a 5ft 5inch frame. I think my calorie intake…
