There was a great article a few months ago in the New York Times Sunday magazine section on changing habits. Bottom line: it's not easy (shocking, right?). The author was trying to quit having cookies as an afternoon snack at the office. He tried replacing it with various things until he found something that worked and in…

Leg day for me too.

^^ This. I could get more but then I would have no time for my morning workouts. BTW 14 hours of sleep on weekend makes sense as the body can "catch up" on lost sleep. Later - off to get some more coffee and get back to working.

I think it is great you are bith focused on being healthy. Hopefully you and fiance are learning to disagree and discuss in a healthy way as well. I don't see any reason why, as previously suggested, you can't do both cardio and weights. If he wants to put more weight on weights and you want to put more sweat into cardio…

Feel free to look at my diary. My favorites - pre-workout: Banana. Post-workout: eggs over easy, on top of a boca chick'n patty or a morningstar farm chick'n griller heated with some lemon juice, on top of lightly sauteed spinach with some garlic, with a half an avocado on the side.

I thought they were actually a further explanation of her situation and she seems open to the suggestions. Since everyone else commented on the food I looked at your exercise diary. I do not know what kind of shape you are currently in, but unless it is pretty bad walking at a slow pace doesn't cut it for a serious…

Definite, very noticable difference. You toned up quite a bit. Congrats!!

Calories seem to be on track most days on a quick look. I cannot tell if you are not drinking water or just not tracking it since most days are 0 and some are 3. If you are not drinking eough water, changing that might help.

Maybe track those weekend calories/nutrition for a few weekends. You may be consuming more than you realize. I use my phone note pad to jot down what I am eating (use MFP through my desk top..hey, I'm old...back off) not a smart phone (don't own one - last holdout in northeasy US) or to be really old fashioned notes…

IMHO - LOG IT. Especially to start. If you don't track it you can't get accurate information back from your diary and can't make accurate future adjustments. A big part of MFP for me is the tracking of everything I eat - making me more coscious of my food choices, what and how much I am eating. It was shocking to me (I…

Looks like you are vegatarian (not vegan). I suggest making some of those salads with spinach - loaded with iron and other nutrients. Look into Quinioa (sp?) - pronounced KEEN-wha - it is a hign protein grain and you should be able to find pastas made out of quinioa (just be careful not to overcook it or it turns to mush).

As others have said, especially with 2 intense workouts per day, this looks very low on food/fuel. Bananas are a great pre-workout snack - lots of potassium and easy on the stomach. Add more protein and, checking your profile, you are female so calcium is extra important. Eat healthy, eat enough, build muscle and the rest…

I have gone about 1,500 over recently: April 15 end of tax season celebration: healthy low carb low calorie bar food and drinks. :drinker:

A few suggestions: If you can access the internetand check the menus in advance you can check out roughly the calories and nutritional information of the different options in advance. If you really enjoy fancy dinners on vacation make extra healthy choices for breakfast, lunch and snacks to balance it out. Keep up or…

Oh, based on the subject I was going to suggest an outdoor wedding in August in southern Florida.

It seems like an unhealthy, too quick weight loss for you and would worry that with that loss you are converting muscle to fat. If based on your current weight, exercise, knowing yourself better than I know you, this is a healthy weight loss amount in the given time frame, then go for it. Otherwise pass.

I am NOT a morning person and there are days I drag myself out of bed at 5:45 to take out the dog and do my 30 minute workout. I know - nothing compared to some of those early risers [4 a.m.? really? Why bother getting in bed even?]. Motivation: I use visualization: How will I feel at 7:45 as I leave the house and at 10…

Actually, I think you are that crazy. C'mon, eat powdered sugar. I double dog dare you.

Its not a what, its a who. She is calling you "totemptation" and exhorting you to quit just like the rest of us.

I don't get it either, and you are into Dr. Who! Ever consider an older man?
