  • Welcome welcome! I've had nothing but wonderful experiences with the site and the people. Everyone is so supportive and it is just another thing to help keep you on track :)
  • Every week I go grocery shopping and pick up enough lean cuisines/smart ones for the week for lunch. Just pop it in the microwave for a few minutes and you are good to go. Of course you'll probably need a little snack with it, so maybe grab some apples too. I work full time and go to school part time so I am always in a…
  • Congrats on your weight loss! It's a wonderful feeling :)
  • I am hitting my 1200 calories goal and eating more than that (but not going over) when I go to the gym. I just don't want to get stuck in this little rut where I don't lose any weight! I definitely want to strengthen my muscles but there is more fat that I need to drop..
  • I've been waking up more throughout the night to use the bathroom also. It's normal, the more you drink the more you have to pee! It is definitely annoying to wake up so much. Maybe you can train your body to hold it ;)

  • My weight fluctuates too. Water weight could be a reason for the difference in day to day weighings. I would recommend not weighing yourself every day. Try to decrease it to 2 times a week. My schedule is Wednesday and Sunday mornings. It's often enough to make sure I am on track but far enough apart that I am not…
  • You can really see the progress between the before and after pics! Keep up the great work!!
  • That is so very true! You have to treat the causes as well.
  • Welcome welcome! Having support is so important to being successful in losing weight and getting fit. Your goal weight is absolutely doable by August! You will be a hot, happy and confident bride :) The best advice I can give you is to utilize this site. Keeping track of everything you eat and drink. The people I've come…
  • The biggest part of losing weight is exercising, if you aren't doing much of that then that is likely why you aren't losing any weight. Eating the right foods can only do so much, you really need to commit yourself to exercising to lose more weight.
  • Congrats on the amazing weight loss! 200lbs is quite an accomplish and I hope that you are proud of yourself :)
  • When you set up your profile it asks you about your daily activity, whether or not you sit at a desk all day, or if you have an active job - that will take your daily activity into account. It should help with the amount of calories you need to take in daily and such.
  • It's going to happen, period. You can't stay on track every single day without ever going over one day. As others stated, just log it and maybe seeing how much you took in will be your motivation to not do it again. At least for a while. You can't completely deprive yourself of certain foods - just make sure you are on…
  • Building muscle does burn fat, but I think it's hard to calculate how many calories are burned. Calories burned is calculated by your heart rate, so if you would like to know how many calories you burn doing strength workouts you can buy a heart rate monitor. I just purchased one so have as accurate calculations of…
  • Congratulations! I can really see the progress, keep up the great work!
  • Your body gains energy by you eating food and the more you eat the more it increases the speed of your metabolism. You should eat as much as possible to get to your goal calorie range. It's a way to teach you to each healthier options so that you can eat more throughout the day and be full and have lots of energy for when…
  • Welcome welcome! I think it's great that you are worrying about losing weight, just toning up and I hope that you find that this site and the people on here are a nice support system.
  • I hear nothing but good things about Polar, it can be in the $80-$90+ range but if you are fully committed to working out then it's a good investment. I'm looking into a New Balance Pearl Fitness HRM at Target for $70.
  • Keeping the motivation is hard but just think of all of the work you have put into this and how great you feel losing 40lbs! By not keeping tracking of what you're eating and your exercise that may slow down or even halt those last 10lbs, which are always the hardest to lose! Just push through and force yourself to finish…
  • Today it is so beautiful outside, it feels and looks like spring. Well minus the little bit of snow that is still on the ground. It's supposed to be almost 70º tomorrow. Just looking outside makes you smile. Tonight I'm going to go to my best friend's house and visit her and her hubby and little man, who I call my nephew.…
  • On the days I don't exercise, I eat as close to 1200 as I can and the days I exercise, I will eat about 1300-1400 leaving a gap of about 300-400 that I have burned off through exercise. To me it looks like I am eating a good amount of food.
  • Although I'm under my calorie goal, I feel like I am eating too much sometimes. I count everything I eat and sometimes will add more calories than I think I am taking in if I can't measure it. I drink water all of the time, at least 4 glasses every day. I guess I am just getting frustrated this week and am looking for a…
  • You're right, I think water is the key. Congrats on the 31lb weight loss!
  • Yesterday that shouldn't have been a problem. I went to work, then school and then the gym! You would think that would be busy enough! I don't think that I had enough water which I try to drink a lot of every day but sometimes I forget to grab an extra bottle. Thanks for the reply :)
  • I can relate, though it's not on the weight part but on the numbers. I count things up to twelve and then I have to start over. Oh gosh, that makes me sound crazy! But if it makes you feel better, you are just about at my goal weight! Although I think I may strive for less than 150 but I'm slightly jealous ;)
  • I did the same thing last night! I'm trying not to beat myself up but it's hard. I was under my calorie goal as well but you feel like you won't lose any weight eating so much food!
  • I can really tell the difference, congrats! Keep up the awesome work!
  • A lot of exercise can gain muscle weight. Be sure that you eat enough food, and the correct type of food. I don't know how often you weigh yourself, but try to keep it to once a week.
  • Even if you only lose .5lbs that is still an accomplishment to be proud of. It's unfortunate that your wife isn't as excited as you are or as supportive. You have a whole family here that will cheer you on and please don't be discouraged by other people. My goal is to lose about 1 lb per week. If you lose a lot quick, I…
  • Add me too! Support is so important!
