  • That's an awesome goal! I've also set the goal of having the fitness model body, and I have every intention of putting the work in. I just hope my body responds. My story is a bit like yours mostly in that I turned to food for comfort and it really hit me hard in college, and has been a struggle ever since. Hopefully we'll…
  • I haven't had any wine since I started clean eating/working out again last week, and I don't really miss it so much as find myself looking for it at the end of the day out of habit. I'll probably still have the occasional glass of red here and there, but nowhere near as much as I used to.
  • These suggestions/comments are awesome guys. Thank you so much! Keep them coming :)
  • Thank you for the vote of confidence - every bit counts!
  • Adding another Calgarian to the roster! Add me!! :D
  • *Raises hand* Yep, all my weight for the most part is in my tummy, boobs and arms. My legs are always the first to slim down when I work out. Here's to us fighting the genetics lol. Feel free to add me!
  • It's been a bit of a yoyo for me, but the first time was when I saw a picture that some friends had taken at a get-together. I didn't even recognize myself because I didn't mentally see myself as that fat. It was a HUGE wakeup call. I went on a crash diet at that time and lost about 20lbs which I've never gained back, but…
  • Lunges, cardio and burpees - Just hate them period. Would probably love chin-ups if I could actually do them lol. Box jumps scare me. I keep thinking I'll miss one day and really hurt myself
  • I'll join you too. I'd love to hit that goal or at least get my body fat down to 28% by then. I'll start officially on Sunday though once I get my shopping and meal plans set up!

  • I'm 5'10 and 235lbs. I have a pretty big build though, my hands are the size of most guys I know and my feet are size 12, so I'm not lanky or slender. But I'm definitely in the obese category for body fat and have been for a while. I'm apple shaped so most of my fat goes to my stomach, arms and back while my legs are still…
  • 40. Haven't been in Onederland since my early 20s. Really hoping I'll hit it this year
  • I can relate to frustration over the scale. Are you taking measurements as well (i.e. bust, waist, hips, etc.)? Because often when the scale takes a break it's because muscle is replacing the fat and muscles weights more than fat. You could be going down in body fat % even though the scale is staying the same for now.…
  • I didn't receive one yet, but I'll wait and see if I'm on the evening list
  • This is perfect. I'll have no more excuses and some accountability! I'd like in if there's still room
  • Right here! I was wondering the same thing haha! We're pretty close!
  • CW 235 H 5'10 GW 175 GBF 25% Age 36 Gained back almost all the weight I lost 2 years ago, ready to feel good about my body again!
  • Alberta here
  • Hmmm...I'm trying to stay away from actual pound goals since those have frustrated me in the past. At the beginning of April I will have completed one month of personal training, and I hope to see 2 more inches off my waist, 1 inch off my hips and to be able to get through all of my workouts within an hour!
  • My all time heaviest: 245lbs Current weight: 228lbs Goal: 165lbs (I'm 5'10 and larger framed) Ultimate Goal: 150 lbs (I still can't quite envision myself there yet, but we'll hit goal #1 first :) )
  • This was a long lesson for me. I used to always look at other women with body types completely different than mine and lament the fact that I didn't look like that, even without the weight. I finally clued in and realized that my body is unique and that I have to work to make it the healthiest it can be, and that may not…
  • It's been an on and off battle for me as well. I realized that the weight was creeping on since I was in my early twenties and out of school, but I was in denial of just how bad it was getting. Then came stress and emotional eating as well, and as the years went on, I ballooned up to 245 lbs at my heaviest when I was only…
  • That sounds like an excellent idea! Will keep me off the couch more too haha
  • Congratulations! I can't wait to get back to Onederland! :)
  • Oddly enough, I find that I like to snack when I'm gaming HA! But then again, I don't do as much FPS and live online gaming. I'm more of a MMORPG and RPG fan, though I just got Mass Effect 3 and am DYING to play it. I'd love to do games like COD and MW3 but FPS games make me nauseous :(
  • I agree that there really isn't an ideal age. I think it depends on where you're at mentally and emotionally. I've seen successful couples that got married right out of high school as well as couples who waited until they were settled in their careers, finances, etc. If it's a matter of success, I think the key is to have…
  • I'll pass along what my personal trainer has told me; there really is no way to get fat off of just one place, you have to just keep up the healthy eating and working out and the fat will burn away as your body wants it to. Sometimes you'll see alot of inch loss in your bust or your hips, even if you don't want it there…
  • For me, totally selfish reason of putting my health first for once :) i've spent many years putting my own health on the backburner while I pursued other things. That, and as I get older, I'm realizing how much I use food and my weight as a barrier to the things that I want most in this world, but am afraid of. My…
  • I think it depends on your personality. I can easily get into the habit of weighing daily, but I get frustrated when I don't see movement that I think I should, so I make myself wait every week if not longer. But for those who don't get discouraged by not seeing any movement for days at a time, the daily thing can be…
  • I think mini-goals are particularly effective when you have a larger number of pounds to lose. IMO, it's hard to visualize losing 50, 60 and so on pounds sometimes because the number seems so huge. So setting smaller goals like 5 lbs in one month are much easier to believe and to achieve. That sense of acheivement is what…
