  • I'm just about 5'11 and currently 233lbs. The last time I was below 200lbs was in my early 20s and I did like my body at that weight. My initial goal is to get under 200lbs as it's something I've come close to several times but haven't reached in over 10 years. Once I get there, I'll reassess if I should keep trying to get…
  • The fourth was a hard one for me. I felt it focused too much on character that I hadn't invested in and meandered so I struggled through it. But book 5 was pretty good so it's worth the struggle. You can do eeeeet!
  • Not until late next year. Daredevil Season 2, Luke Cage, and The Punisher are next in line for next year. Jessica should be after that.
  • Right there with you Bovaryoo. The best I did was watch it over 2 days, but I knew there was no way I'd last for weeks.
  • I think it's going to be good. Netflix did really well with Daredevil so I have faith. Makes for good binge watching when everything's on hiatus
  • It took me years to embrace my "geek" as openly as I do now. I'm a bit of a chameleon; I can blend in pretty well with many types of people so I would often hide my love of geeky things in fear of being judged. But as I get older the more I realize how stupid that is; people should like you for who you are, period. I think…
  • Me three. I was at BlizzCon last weekend and they were all psyched about Overwatch and I was too...until I saw that it's FPS. I play that and I'll have to change my username to Vomitoria :(
  • I'm studying the schedule for Blizzcon this weekend so I'm prepared
  • I'm struggling with this number right now myself. I would like to lose weight rather aggressively, but I am lifting 3x a week and doing cardio 2x a week. With the diet plan my trainer gave me, I'm at around 1300 calories a day. I just wonder sometimes if that's too low since my BMR is fairly high. But I should really work…
  • I am weighing my protein and measure carbs. The only reason I thought increasing may help is that I'm afraid my body may be in a mild form of starvation mode. But macro shift may be the day to go
  • I love this thread! Thanks to the OP for asking and for all the great responses. I have tried to start running, though I don't really enjoy it so I do find it hard to get motivated to do it. Walking however is something I can do, even when I'm tired. I think pacing is important, too leisurely will burn calories but not a…
  • You're amongst friends here :) Also a geek girl, I'm into all the things you've listed and cosplay, just got back from Dragoncon a couple weekends ago and still hungry for more! Not quite a hobbit, maybe an Elf (I'm 5'10) Please add me! Love to have fellow geeks to encourage and get encouraged from
  • That looks amazing!! Thanks for sharing. Also, may I ask, do you know of any websites/blogs for people learning to make costumes?
  • Dragon con was awesome! Definitely going again next year!
  • @echoslug WOW that looks amazing!
  • Only if I go at lunch or afterwork. If I go in the morning, I put it on after my workout. I sweat - A LOT - so putting it on right before a workout would be silly as I'd sweat/wipe off most of it.
  • Rosario has been confirmed for S2! I love her, and admittedly, I hate Karen's character. I know that she and Matt are canon but I hope the writers take some creative license there.
  • I think that the gist of this article is good, in the sense that there isn't a prescriptive "one weight/size fits all". There are so many factors that actually affect one's weight that trying to use an outdated metric like BMI doesn't always make sense. BMI doesn't factor in bone density, muscle or people with large…
  • Cosplay is a HUGE motivator for me. I'm going to Dragoncon this year and want to look better than I did at my local con. I did my first cosplay this year at a local comic con. It was super fun, but I did feel uncomfortable because of my weight. I've always wanted to do a nightelf from WoW, but I need to have less rolls to…

  • I just started an account to track my progress. It's pretty bare at the moment, but I intend to update it with pics as I progress and meals etc. I'm @geekgirlchic :)
  • Like most have said above, results are a huge motivating factor; fitting into clothes again, having people notice your progress, sleeping better etc. And I've NEVER felt worse after a workout, no matter how tired I may have been before it. As mentioned, you don't have to go kamikaze at the start and overexert yourself.…
  • Yeah, we can blame Azeroth. I don't care how many loading screens Blizz puts up encouraging us to get out more. They know we're hooked!! :) Yeah, I had to break myself of the habit of shoving something in my face when I'm sat in front of the computer - and not just for gaming, at work too. I find that eating regularly…
  • The streak is there for motivational purposes, particularly with the food logging, but most people have a hard time keeping it high all the time. If you go on vacay to some place where the internet isn't readily available or life just gets in the way, you may not get to log in. I wouldn't worry about it as long as you're…
  • Feeling truly comfortable in my own skin. I know most of that is mental, but I felt so much better a couple years ago when I was in better shape, far more confident. I also look forward to being able to wear a bikini and feel glamorous in it!
  • WoW is a staple for me, I play on and off, though lately I'm obsessed with getting my mains to 100. Also still trying to finish Dragon Age 3, Sims 4, and the newest Mortal Kombat. Will have to check out Mercenary Kings.
  • Aging myself but Asteriods on my dad's Atari computer was the first game to get me hooked, followed by Pac-man. Super Mario Bros got me into console gaming and Megaman into the idea of rpgs ( I didn't own the NES, my friend did and my parents refused to buy me one /firstworldprobs). I was also a first year World of…
  • Never had a reason to visit Ottawa...until now :)
  • Geek here! Videogames, anime, sci-fi, fantasy, comics, cosplay - name it and I'm probably into it, and of course I work in IT :) I too am looking to lose about he same amount of weight (70 lbs) so I can be a healthier geek :) Feel free to add me!
