Acro Yoga for the overweight?
I just stated getting into yoga about 2 months ago, and so far I really love how it's helped me stretch out and lengthen my muscles and helped me relax. I want to get stronger and more challenging with it though, and acro looks both fun and challenging. But so far I've only seen really skinny people doing it. Considering…

Increase calories?
Hey all, Just looking for some thoughts about increasing caloric intake. For the past few weeks, I've been aiming to eat around 1200-1400 cals per day to lose weight, but the scale hasn't moved down for nearly a month. I'll admit that I still struggle with cutting out sweets (i.e. caramel popcorn, chocolate) but I don't…

Anyone going to Dragoncon?
It'll be first one I go to. I was supposed to go with a good friend, but she bailed last minute so it'll be solo sailing. Anyone here going to the this massive conglomerate of geeks? :)

Can't get motivated for cardio
I can lift till the cows come home, but I just can't get myself to like cardio. I know I need to do it though. Is walking briskly enough? I also like to ride my bike and do spin classes if I can find one that fits in my schedule. Anyone else dread cardio as much as I do?

How do you get your head right for working out?
I've gotten my butt up and made myself hit the gym the past two days - which I'm proud of myself for - but I face the same struggle each time I step out onto the gym floor and see all these toned, muscled people. I keep thinking that they're disgusted looking at me, thinking that I don't belong there. I know intellectually…

How do you beat those afternoon sweet cravings?
This is always the time of day that I find myself wanting something sweet (i.e. chocolate). I just started my clean eating/working out routine today and I'm determined not mess up on day 1, but man, if there was chocolate within reach right now, I'd be hurtin' pretty bad right now :D Anyone else struggle with afternoon…

Looking for Motivating Friends
I've been on this weight loss roller-coaster more times than even I want to count, and I want to get off once and for all. I lost a bunch of weight and inches back in 2012, but sadly with a job change that had me traveling nearly nonstop, I fell off my routine and gained all of the weight back. I've really been struggling…

Low energy around that time?
Hi all, I find that around that time of month that I feel exhausted! I wake up feeling just as tired as when I fell asleep and have little motivation to do anything other than roll over or eat something chocolatey! This is especially hard when I have workouts to do, I feel like I'm doing double the work lol. Do any of you…

Kinect
Anyone here have a Kinect? I bought an xbox just to get his lol. I just never really liked the Wii. I only have Zumba and Kinect Adventures ATM but I've played lots of dancing games on it and I find them super fun. What about you?

Alternatives to running?
Hi all, I was just looking for some recommendations of good cardio exercises outside of running? Running simply kills my knees and hips and I find myself clockwatching way too much while I'm doing it, so I'm hoping to find something else as good that will burn good calories? Thanks in advance!

Suggestions for Magnesium Citrate intake
Hi all, Sorry to get personal on ya, but I've started taking magnesium citrate in dissolving form (at the suggestion of my personal trainer) and I noticed almost immediately that it er, affected my bowels. I read online that it can be used a laxative, which is something I don't need lol. So, I was just wondering if anyone…

An interesting thing my dietition told me
This may have already been said before but I'll share anyways... My dietitian made a good point today that I never really thought about. She said that if we don't eat enough food before and sometimes even after we workout, our bodies start to conserve energy (and yes, fat) WHILE we're working out. Your body realizes that…

Xbox 360 4Gig - is it worth it?
So, I've read a handful of posts from those of you who have the Xbox 360 with the kinect, and I'm thinking about picking one up. The only thing is that the only bundle available at most stores around here right now is the 4Gig Xbox with the Kinect. Now, I'm a gamer at heart as it is, and 4 gigs sounds uber small - I mean,…

Protein intake?
Okay, so I have the calories that are laid out for me by MFP, but I keep going over my protein allotment. I was always told that one should have at least a 4oz serving of meat (which I usually only have for dinner) and this puts me quite a bit over my protein balance. Is this a problem? Or should i cut out protein shakes…

Core work woes
I'm finding that I'm getting muscle cramps in my abdomen when I do my core workouts lately. Just wondering if there's anything I can do preemptively to keep this from happening? I could get a lot more done if i didn't feel like I had a charlie horse in my gut lol. Thanks in advance!

What do you do...
Maybe I'm the only person who does this, but when I go workout, I find myself looking at all the more fit people and thinking thoughts like "I'll never be that size" or "They're probably wondering why I'm even here" etc. Now i know, it's negative self-talk, and I'm constantly trying to chase those thoughts positive ones…
