I totally get what you're saying. I know you're not referring to every tiny little bite, occasionally I chew gum and don't log it. lol. I read about half that thread and it really ticked me off because those are the same people that tell you how they tried dieting and it didn't work. I felt the same as you, you're not…

I would encourage you to read "eat to live" by Joel Fuhrman he's already completed the research and can fully explain better than I how the body is affected by certain types of foods, including animal products. It's become my health bible.

1. finding true hunger after being overweight for so long can be quite a shock so more than likely you weren't "starving" yourself your body was discovering what true hunger really felt like.---the majority of Americans have no idea what that means so don't worry if you didn't know there was a difference. 2. if you felt…

My friend Angela and I came up with a list of bathroom workouts to do at the office to help keep our bodies moving throughout the day without getting in the way of working. Taking a walk at lunch is great, but I need to be able to eat lunch too!! So here are a few we came up with, if you google "bathroom workouts" you'll…

I'm 5'5" and I'm sitting for at least 11 hours a day between my job and commute. If I miss a workout day, which is often, I generally only have time to workout 3-4 days a week, then I'm often stuffed full with my 1200 calories and will steadily gain. I have a hard time waking up even if I just eat a small salad after 7pm.…

MFP recommends 1200 for me and honestly I've been fine with that. When I do really hard workouts I might hit 1500/day, but rarely am I over 1200 or feeling empty or hungry. I'm training for a half marathon and I have been gaining overall strength & endurance very easily. Every body it different.

I love your profile pic. I hate it when people say to me "you should eat a piece of cake, after all you deserve it, look at how hard you work at losing weight" Excuse me but that is the exact reason I DON'T want to eat bad foods, because I know the work it takes to stay healthy.

Set a goal. Like running a 10K or a mini Triathlon (easier than it sounds), If you're working towards something rather than just working out for routine you will get excited for each training milestone. I would also join a buddy system training app, like Nike running where you can share with partner(s) through the app…

Good Lord woman you scared the hell out of me, I thought you meant you ate out of the cottage cheese containers AT THE STORES and put them back. HAHAHA

I have that same problem with snack foods. I try not to buy them at all and just keep fresh fruits & veggies in the fridge. Nothing like a good carrot when you're craving something....NOT I just look at the dam carrots and remember my goal and end up not eating anything. lol.

I can't buy cream cheese for this reason. I have no self control, I have to make sure I don't buy it or I will eat it...all...at once!! This goes for more than just cream cheese.

don't worry about it, your best measurement is how your clothes feel anyway.

This is very close to what some others have suggested as far as a mid week 4-6 miler and end the week with a longer run. Thanks!

The orange is actually the Hal Higdon Novice 2, I shifted the days forward so my rest day is Wednesday...the only day it's extremely hard for me to workout because I'm up earlier and home much later, but the plan is exactly how he designed it. thank you. I'm very excited about the training and the run.

Thanks everyone!!

Thank you so much for the input. I'm new to training for a half, but I'm not new to running or working out. I'm definitely going to look in to this.

Sweet relish, and not the cheapo stuff, you have to get the better brands.

I'll tell you what is really great about my "support" system is my 2 little boys 9 & 6 are very supportive in a great way. They remind me when I mention possibly eating something bad or when I don't feel like working out. My problems are with my mom, siblings, people at church, and of course the office.

I'm not super sure I am, but I think so. I honestly have a really hard time keeping track of everything. I'll do it for a couple days, but like I said in the above post I'm sooo super busy trying to keep up with everything else I usually don't have time to several days in a row. Generally when I feel like I'm having diet…

Love this, I wish there were more people like you commenting.

I've had this problem before so I can totally relate. The only thing that I can advise is just try to get over that 800 mark. If you drink a lot of ice cold water throughout the day you should find yourself hungrier. Unfortunately you're actually depleting the necessary calories for brain function and it could be very…

I think having an accountability partner does help in many ways, but when they mess up we tend to change the way we gauge our own success and lower our standards. While this sounds like the cause to the AIDS epidemic, having multiple partners, in my opinion is a better solution. I have a friend who I work out with…

This is great, you guys are hilarious. I need to get mine posted today.

does the food still taste good if you freeze it like that?

Maybe I should mention we're not all home until 6pm every day, so we almost need to eat right away to avoid it being a late night meal thing. I'm going to try Pinterest and hopefully get some quick easy recipes for us.

I had it checked a few years ago, but not recently. I'm making an appointment to find out what the heck is going on. She usually just wants to put me on some BS vitamins and that's her solution to weight loss. I know vitamins are important, but I think I need more than just vitamin recommendations.

It's nice to see someone else with the same problem. I hit 1000 yesterday and I felt so crappy this morning.

How do I open my diary? I started a new job that required me to sit for 10 hours. I had to stay up late and get up early due to obligations at home so that added to the stress level. I started my job in November of 2012 and by March I was 20 lbs heavier. Eating dinner became the enemy. Generally when I skipped dinner I had…

I appreciate you taking the time to help. You're post was very informative. I just didn't know what was "normal" and what wasn't since I only know my own calorie intake. I do use the MFP to log all of my foods and I try to overestimate when I'm unsure of portion sizes.
