I have a meat injector. That way, you don't have to waste time and effort marinating. Create some simple marinades that you can whip up on the spot, like vinager/garlic/soy sauce (adobo) or lemon/butter/cajun spice and inject the breast meat and grill or bake...also I love to cut it up, brown in olive…

You may consider looking into a minimalist shoe, otherwise known as barefoot shoes...some research to be done to see if it sounds right to you. but, I replace my no sooner than ever 18months. If they wear out before then, I can exchange them for a full refund...that's the Vibram Fivefinger warranty. Anyway, we were meant…

So, I hear a couple of things going on here. First, let me say that I am not a professional, but my life experience includes single motherhood, having worked long hours, a lifetime of bad eating habits & laziness....to more recently, being a personal trainer, triathlete, independant massage therapist and still single…

Yeah, id say nix the non fat yogurt and go with snacks like nuts, seeds, boiled eggs, beef jerky,...etc...basically more protein and also throw in some additional veggies. I promise that adding protein will get your calories up and take the place of some of the sugary things. good luck!

I think you just have to go with your doc's advise. I have a rib that's popped out of place...has yet to go back all the way and stil gives me a little trouble from time to time. But, it's up high and doesn't affect much of my training. Everyone you are asking on here has a different injury at a different point of their…

Um seriously? How old are you guys? This is a site that is for uplifting and supporting one another, not ranking one another...I guess to each his own. But wow.

Only you truly know your body. MFP gives you a calorie alottment based on a calculation that determines your BMR. The thing is, that calculation is based on hight, weight and age. It is my belief that our BMRs fluctuate from person to person based on our individual metabolism and it's ability to run efficiently. I know my…

Ha ha! I've done that....SMH on the way into spin....or have you ever been in spin watching someone's crazy fast cadence when you're supposed on a hill and wonder how they are doing it? Well, if you wait til after class and get on theor bike, you'll see how when your foot drops out from under you cuz she had almost no…

' Oh no! I'm the lady on the elliptical throwing punches! LMAO!!!!

The leaping Lady might be tripping and you're catching the tail end of it where she has to catch herself...lol. I am also the oddball in the gym. I hop off the treadmill while it's still running to crazy stretches and in spin class, they make fun of me and call what I'm doing, "Spoga" because of all the stretching. LOL!…

Yes! I agree with Femininguns. I meant to say that in my reply as well...knew I was forgetting soemthing! LOL! I am a personal trainer and used to be a wightloss counselor at a clinic. That is more on the money. Choose like a cheat day and go at it with in reason and then keep around 1300 otherwise.

It's just a matter of getting used to it. The more you do it, the longer it will take before the become numb and evenually, not at all! Anything you do physically will take some time getting used to and to work out the kinks.

Well, you should check with your doctor before attempting that. I know that doing it consistantly can really upset your metabolism long term...I did it! LOL! But, I think about once a week, I eat around 1250 even though I worked out and then am a little more reasonable the rest of the week. So far, so good. I'm losing…

It really does depend on the person....your metabolism and build. I melt from the face down. So for a while, I look all skinny in the face and have no boobs...then my stomach get's nice a flat but my butt and hips are still enormous until I finally get down to like 120/125. One of my good friends loses in her legs and butt…

Ha! So true.

This really all depends on how much over weight you are. It should work for a while. And then once you've lost some weight, get your doc to re-evaluate your max heart rate. If your heart condition is related to your weight or your weight has a strong bearing on your heart condition, then perhaps as you lose weight, your…

Being a long time sugar addict and yo yo dieter, I can tell you that it is best to stay away from sweets in general....includuing yogurts and juices with added sugar. You want to get your body used to functioning with out it. Now, it is normal to have cravings during certain times of the month and when emotions trigger…

YES! I do marathons and triathlons. Cross training, in my opinion, is essential....not only to make you better and stronger, but to also help prevent injury. You should also cross train with regard to cardio. So, replace some of your runs with a spin class or out door cycling, swimming, eliptical trainers. And strength…

The best thing about having doen it before, is you know you can do it again! ;-) Keep up the good work!

You are so right. I GAINED weight training for my first marathon... not this time! LOL

Yeah, I was in ales before and hated it. Anyway, best of luck and congratulations on losing 83 pounds! That's amazing. We need more people like you in the industry who truly know what it's like to struggle with weight and know what it takes to get the job done.

If you are very concerned about running that large a deficit and losing more weight, just add more food...but good food...maybe in the form of suplimentation like a protein shake...or smoothy as long as the sugar in is natural. Also, this site is great for figuring out your caloric needs. Just go back to your profile and…
