1200 is just the default number that my fitness pal uses as the minimum. I really, really suggest if you want to keep running and gain speed you research TDEE and BMR. At least do your own research, 1200 is not the magic loss number. Most people should eat well over.

If you are afraid of failure, toss the scale out the window and follow the program on MFP. Don't focus on the numbers on the scale, it poorly represents the loss.
-
You say you are struggling at 1200, I would be too. When I run, I have to eat my BMR and my calories back or I run myself down. There is nothing wrong with fueling body. And trust, I lost more running like that I did when I was just doing 1280 a day.

Actually working out that much and with that little to lose, you should probably increase. Google TDEE and BMR and research. Maybe look into lifting weights. Plus you cannot spot reduce.

GF items are only better if you have a Gluten intolerance or Celiac. I am Celiac and yes they taste different. They generally have more carbs. That being said, I do not subscribe to the low-carb diet.Your body needs a certain amount.

Awesome, I am excited.

That is type of advice I was looking for, I hate links. I have done the couch to 5K and the bridge and the zombie training about a year ago, I just got out of the habit of running. Plus my friend had had hip surgery, so I want her to be able to keep up. I do not want to overwhelm her. Sunblock, that is brilliant. Never…

Losing at a slower rate will help you be more successful and is realistic. I know too many people who want two pounds a week, the goals are hard to manage and they never last. I did it slowly, 1/2 pound a week.
-
I have never done a 5K, the 10K here is a neat event. Next year I want to run it, okay some of it.
-
It may hide your results, but it will not make you gain fat.
-
This I would like to second the bacon thing.

No I am not lucky at all. Many, many people have done it that way. I am not a special little snow flake. I researched it and did it the proper way because I watched my mom destroy her metabolism, lose her hair and gain every ounce back. You really should do more research. Google TDEE and BMR. Start there.

Spoon of peanut butter.

Google TDEE, that is how you burn fat. It is not based on 1200 calories. Read as much information as possible and understand that 1200 just a number that is a default for Myfitnesspal. Most people need more that that. I need 1480 if I do nothing all day but lay in bed. Eat a tablespoon of peanut butter. You do not have to…

That is definitely not the healthy way. I started at 1280 and lost, he a wall. Increased to 1480 and lost. Then increased to 1580 and lost. I ate back my calories and exercised. I lost 40 pounds. You do not have to restrict yourself to the extreme. You can seriously damage your body do 200, 400, 600. Once again dangerous…

Wish I had that issue. I exercise more so I have more calories to eat.
-
Please do not reduce it without a doctor recommendation, you will damage your metabolism and set yourself up for failure. My mom did it and lost her hair. Listen to the experienced people on here, 400 is a dangerous recommendation.
-
Peanut butter for a calorie boast. My mom did the same thing and eventually lost her hair and damaged her metabolism.
-
Steph, I saw your picks and they are awesome. We are doing a Bethlehem/Big Bang Theory theme. So yeah, not sure how to integrate the two. I am excited. We are in the walker/joggers wave but it is a start.

I would not focus on the scale so much, it is not accurate. Buy a tape measure, the scale does not always reflect the loss of fat. Give it time, I know a woman who started MFP but wanted to lose faster and quit. She gained 50 after. Even if you loss nothing, you did not gain either. So that is a plus, give it time. Have…

I generally do not friend people on 1200 day goals, especially ones who do not net that. It is hard for me to keep my mouth shut and I hate watching people damage their metabolism.
-
1200 is the number that MFP set as the bottom goal. Most people need more than 1200 a day. Google TDEE and BMR to understand.
-
Why would you want less?
-
Eat them, you are not gaining fat. Toss the scale and buy a tape measure. Be patient.
-
I would try eating back your calories. I always do and never once hit a plateau. I earn them, I am eating them.

Sex.

Man I wish I was 1.6 pounds away from my goal.

It is really not worth it, you can loose without it and not pumping things in your body. This is marathon not a race, do you plan on staying on this drop forever?
-
Because no one should be under 1200. I would do a little more research about how MFP works. 1200 is just a default number. You need a healthy relationship with food, it is not the enemy. Start buying researching BMR and TDEE. My daily goal is 1520 and I always eat back my exercise calories. Good luck.
