Just made one yesterday in the crock pot. Threw the loin in the crock, added 1/2 cup water and sprinkled a dry package of zesty italian dressing on it. Cooked on low for 8 hours and it was delicious. I make a loin in the crock about every two weeks. Most of the time I buy the pre-made marinades in the BBQ sauce aisle and…

Ohhh...where to begin? Driving in the passing lane and NOT passing anyone. Tailgaters Driving below the speed limit, not yielding to faster drivers Not reaching highway speed before merging onto the highway Failure to use indicator lights Throwing cigarette butts out the window Throwing litter out the window Texting while…

I do accessory work to build up my upper body, but only after I have completed my compound lifts.

My 10 year old daughter already knows how it works and tells me she plans on adopting. FINE WITH ME! Seriously, after being honest with her, make sure she knows she should come to you or your wife if she has questions. Remind her that her friends don't have the real answers to these adult type questions and that a lot of…

I've done both. The crock pot ones seem to come out more tender, fall-off-the-bone, style, but the oven one's have the crispiness people like on Memphis style ribs. I have cooked in the crock, then put them under the broiler in the oven to get the crispy I needed. Personally, it'll be 90 degrees (F) here today, so I…

I'm totally going to be thinking about this dialogue when I do my squats now!
-
I completely agree with everything you have said here and want to stress what I have highlighted. THANK YOU!!! Edited to clarify my point.

I MUCH prefer the guitar shape over pear shaped!

Had to go out and buy new jeans as they were all falling off of me. SINGLE DIGIT SIZE! Woot!

I wouldn't use the smith for BPs. See if someone can spot you. Working this program, you can get comfortable about what you can and cannot do. I, however, am forced to use the smith for squats as we don't have squat/power rack at the gym. I know I'm missing the balance/stability part of the squats and hate that. (I will…

I prefer the Pendlay rows, I just hate having to build a platform to lift the bar high enough.

TY cards are a must for a wedding, showers and graduation gifts. I'm lax on birthday gifts, as the giver is usually there when the gift is opened and so a personal thank you is given on the spot. When the grandparents across the country send a gift, I make my kids send them a TY post card.

I am saddened by the veggie burrito. And the hot carrots. Much sadness here.

Beautifully simple. As a rib eye should be.

AGREED!!! LMAO!

Bumping for me and DH this weekend. I have everything I need...

I rarely can get into the forums on the weekend. Saturday started out rather disappointing and then got better. My twins' 8th birthday party was scheduled for Saturday at 2:30pm at a play gym, but we had (another) severe storm blow through and they lost power Friday. The electric company said they should be restored by…

Welcome! This is a great group here. I use to love cardio until I started lifting and now I'd rather lift.
-
All of you ladies inspire me. I love reading about your progress! @Gen - My DH used his phone to video me lifting so I can watch my form and compare to the video's I've watched on youtube (Strong lifts, Rippetoe, So You Think You Can...). It helped a lot. And when my weights get heavier, I'll have him do it again. I missed…

Hrm...I normally stop eating by 7pm and drink my calories after that. :drinker: I may try the just before bed snack and see what that does for me in the morning, because I really do not like to eat before 9am.
-
I am also interested in hearing about this, as I hit the gym at 5am and found myself too weak with out breaking my fast, but I don't want to continue drinking a full protein shake before I go either.
-
Well, we are already on each others' FL but welcome to the group! :flowerforyou: The women (and occasional men) in this group are awesome!
-
Welcome, Gen! I'm 5'5" and started at 180 lbs and am down to 150 lbs (GW 145ish) thanks to MFP! This is a great group of women with amazing inspiration and advice.
-
Welcome! I'm relatively new to the group, but I've found these are a great group of women.
-
I agree with this. I'm so sorry, that y'all were put in those positions by people who don't even know you. I'm somewhat of an introvert and would have been greatly discouraged with that "advice". ((hugs))

@jstout - LMAO! I'm pretty sure that's what I told my DH on Sunday.

WHAT???? That's one of my favorite breakfasts. So good! :glasses:

So glad my husband doesn't follow social norms and totally thinks 5'6" is sexy as hell!

I can't do cooked meat over 3 days. Thankfully, my husband can, and no good leftovers get trashed.
