39 here (okay, 40 in 3 months).

@Diane - Congrats on the NSV! I love fitting into my skinnier jeans. @hwilmott - that sounds like an ambitious gym, but full of possibilities. Good luck! Like Stef, I need to shop for casual clothes for Summer. I have one pair of shorts that fit me.

I did start yesterday with a hangover, but since the gym doesn't open until 1pm (thank you small town in the Bible Belt), I was recovered enough to work out. Squat 5x5 75lb Bench Press 3x5, 2x4 55lbs Rows 5x5 60lbs I must have hyper extended my neck during the rows and now I have a strain. It's already better today, so…

You ladies are so inspiring! I'm glad I joined this group. Yesterday was a B workout: Squat 5x5 70lb OHP 4x5 40lbs (I'm going to need to those large washers eventually...) DL 1x5 85lbs (Can't wait to get to the point that I don't have to create a platform for my bar/weights) I believe I will start doing accessory work…

Our favorite sushi place makes an amazing Hurricane Roll and Volcano Roll. We always say we are going to try something else, but end up ordering those. Now I'm drooling on my keyboard.

He is a beautiful horse and you look amazing! Congrats!

I've read something similar from another blogger and it changed my mind about pictures. I really don't photograph well (even my DH agrees with me on this, in a nice way), so I've always tried to avoid pics of me when my hair and make up weren't done. After reading the similar article, I now make sure I take pictures of me…

When I was cardio only, I could work out in the morning before I ate. But since I now lift in the morning, I HAVE to eat something. I opt for a protein shake because it's easy.

It runs about $160 a week for my family of 5 (and two cats) when I don't have to buy a bunch of non-food items (laundry soap, etc). This is for all meals from home, so no eating out.

I read. Carried a book with me everywhere. At work, I would hide it in my lap under my desk.

This list is complete. If you have all this, then you have the ancillary items (frequent intimacy, honesty, communication, etc...). I was 38 years old before I really realized what I wanted and needed in a relationship. Once I figured this out, the right man fell in my lap. And now I am grateful everyday for our life…

Your husband sounds very supportive. I know what that is like! Yay us!

3-4 liters of fluid a day during the week. 2-3 on the weekends.

THE BEST!

I have 1-2 (usually 2) vodka and lemonades a night. Still making progress. I just make sure it fits in my calorie goals. ETA: I did change what I drank though. I use to be a red wine drinker, but changed to a lower calorie combo listed above. It works for me!

Awesome! Welcome to the group!

You've made amazing progress. Just keep going!

I've finally convinced my children that if they insist on eating Pop Tarts, that toasting them with butter IS the way to go. However, I haven't tried the ice cream sandwich idea...

EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. Actually tear up just thinking about the song.

I'm in the alcohol camp. If that was zero calories, I could fit EVERY THING else in!

3/4 of a serving of my homemade Chicken Bacon Ranch Casserole because it was lunch time and I eat leftovers for lunch (usually a smaller portion than I do for dinner).

This makes me sad for you. You should never feel that way about your gym. I would be just as upset as you. I HATE going when there are people there. And to receive unsolicited advice after REFUSING it. SMH! All I can say is to try and shake it off, wear ear buds (if possible), and don't give up. Don't let the bad apples…

Although I am VERY new (just finished my first official "week"), I've decided I won't add until I've got the form in the weight I am in. So even though I've already done three workouts, I won't be increasing my weight on squats until the next time as my knees kept wanting to cave.

Welcome! I just finished my first week. I wasn't able to start at the recommended weights as I'm a 150(ish) pound weakling, but I'm already progressing. Good luck!

I was half-assing it on the machines until I decided to make the commitment to Strong Lifts 5x5. There is even an app to use to track. A lot of the women I admire here in the forums use the SL format. It only takes about 30-40 minutes in the gym 3 times a week. Join the Strong Lifts for Women group and read the sticky…

Another suggestion for eating your avocado: Slice a tomato and an avocado, salt and pepper, then drizzle with a very good balsamic vinegar and eat. It's almost like dessert to me and my husband. I'm actually drooling while I'm typing this.

LOVE IT!

I'm one of those people that can have a bite or two of a treat and be satisfied, as long as I eat my regular food. I get the benefit of the taste of the treat without derailing my calorie goals for the day - which usually leaves me 292 calories for my 2 vodka and crystal light's a night. :drinker:
