I totally agree that loose skin is way better than being fat! Though, I lose weight slowly, exercise (cardio and weights) and still have loose skin. :( I drink tons of water 10-12 a day. I guess I got a bad set of genes! I'm increasing my fat intake (good fats within reason) to hopefully help the situation.

There isn't a weight to shoot for?? I just want to know if I'm strong enough. Strong enough for what you ask? No idea. Lol. Just strong enough. If I do lighter weights, and more reps, will that help?

Thank you all so much for your advice! Since we're talking about lifting....What should I be able to bench? As of now, I can only bench 80# 5times.

Does anyone else have any input? I've changed my macro goals here on MFP...I'm supposed to eat 100 gm protein a day. Any insight on how to consume that much?

Should I start heavy lifting now or should I wait until I hit my goal weight? I do some heavy lifting on occasion, though it's not part of my regular routine. Sorry for all the questions! :blushing:

Thank you. Should I decrease my carb intake as well? I can't build muscle and lose fat at the same time? My scale moves very slowly, though my clothes are getting bigger and I've noticed some nice deltoids, biceps, quads, and calves. What is going on with my body?

I'm sorry you have to struggle with this as well. My daughter is not on the ketogenic diet...she's on the modified atkins diet. It sounds sooooo much easier to follow. As of now, her carb limit for the day is 20 max grams. Though, they did tell me it will likely go down to 10 grams a day. She also has issues with the…

Thank you so much for your wealth of information!!!!! She does understand she CAN NOT cheat on this diet. She wants to be seizure free as much as I want her to be, I've already paid her for her Halloween candy. I'm so lucky she wants this as bad as I do.

Thank you all so much. I just wanted to incorporate how I already eat with the diet she needs to follow without sabotaging my weightloss. Last night was fine....we had tacos severed in a romaine lettuce leaf, so I know some nights won't be an issue...but I know we will have challenges down the road.

So far its not negative...She must be on this diet it's pretty much our last resort. No, I do not cook different meals for different members of my family. I would like to know of anyone following this plan while counting their calories.

My daughter has epilepsy, and she just started the Modified Atkins diet 1 day ago. So I'm not able to tell you from experience if it works, but from what the doctors tell us, it does. I'm just worried how I'll be able to stick with "my" plan, while cooking the things she needs to eat to better her seizure control.

Good for you! We all need to have "breaks" from thinking of eating calories and burning calories. Have a great time!! If you hit your goal or not....You've done a great job so far!

Think of something to motivate you. Is it new clothes? A new sexy confidence? You can do this. Everything you eat, WRITE down! Try to reach for only water to drink instead of a juice or pop. I still will have some of my kids Halloween candy...I just make sure it's within my calorie allowance for the day. :) You got this!!!…

Awesome! You can reach 8 lbs by Christmas!! I can't wait to get into some of my favorite skinny clothes AND go shopping!!! New jeans are always the best. :)

I think she's well aware that if she loses at 1200 a day, she won't be maintaining on 1200 a day. She does have a fantastic life, she is working it all out. Well done and awesome she's lost the weight she lost. She's proud, I'm proud. If you don't agree with the 1200 calories....SO BE IT! Let it be. You do what works for…

I just love EAS whey protein (vanilla) It has 150 calories, 2 grm fat, 80mg cholesterol, 150 SODIUM, 220mg potassium, 7 carbs, and 26 grams of protein. This has been my favorite of all that I have tried. :)
