I have now finished day 2 of both squats and abs challenge and boy do I hurt!! I will keep at it though. Instead of treadmill at the gym I opted for swimming as I don't want to overdo it - still 70 lbs overweight!

I struggle with the gym as I have so much to lose and exercise is difficult but I try to burn 150-400 cals per session. And eventually in time I want to increase this and hopefully be able to run!

Yes I agree you should be eating more than 1200 cals if you do that amount of exercise. I find eating more helps me burn more cals. I was on 1200 but as I do an hour at the gym everyday I put it in for 1500 but then I found I was still hungry so now I eat about 1800 but with my exercise cals my net cals are about 1300 a…

I follow 300 for breakfast, 450 for luch and 450 for dinner. then 100-200 on snacks. But this goes over sometimes.

I am low in b 12 too and iron as I have anaemia. And to everyone who has suggested porridge I don't like it!! Will look for recipes with eggs for breakfast but not sure I will want to eat that everyday

I'm not following low carb as such as I am just following what MFP is telling me to have. I do want to try and eat less carbs though. But thanks I will try omlette and have some fruit after maybe!

I am a woman and I have just started on here with 1200 cal but today have upped it to 1500 a day!! I love food and I don't want to lose weight by not eating anything, I want to lose weight by eating the right things and doing exercise! That way I can have a treat if I want one without feeling guilty :)

Thank you everyone for your replies! It has made me feel much better and I am starting to feel quite proud of myself for doing the 10 mins of exercise! I do expect too much of myself so thank you for reminding me to take it easier on myself. You are all so supportive :)

I agree with the others. You aren't eating enough and your body will store the food as fat as it thinks you are in starvation mode. The best way to lose weight is to eat a healthy diet (1200 plus) and exercise. You can still eat the low fat foods but eat more of them especially if you are exercising as you body needs the…
