Not quite there--but I did stop wt gain creep and kept a small handful of pounds off before and through the pandemic via MPF & IF and just all-around-sensible healthy nutrition. Lost my exercise routine during the pandemic, but am putting it back into my weeks. Also back with MFP adding Lumen measurements to my macro…

My lumen arrived yesterday and I am doing a soft start to learn the app, so that by Monday I can launch my new effort to lose 53.2 lbs. Thus far I have learned that MFP is much better for logging AND customizing foods...and so I am back to MFP. MFP has been instrumental in understanding macros. IF has been instrumental in…

I need to work daily dairy out and monthly fish. Eating 6c+ vegetables daily + 1-2 servings fruit + nuts & seeds + legumes (love legumes & kale for a base for my main meals). I am relatively low carbs at 96g from all sources, which I can hit by rationing grain servings on a weekly basis.

Thanks for the confirmation. That kind of supplementation just doesn't work for me. Next question: Who supplements fiber (soluble or non-soluble)? I had been adding acaia fiber to my americanos w oat milk or whole milk. Now that I have carved this extra carbs or fat from my daily intake ( to be applied more usefully…

I did meet my Goal Weight #0 in July. I am working in August and September to meet GW#2. The weight is dropping off slowly. I have got my lower saturated fat macro mastered and working on mastering my the carb macro my Dr gave me. I am having trouble meeting my protein macros on a vegetarian diet, so as soon as get carbs…

I do moderate low carb--abt 90g of net carbs (ttl carbs less fiber). I am mindful to have most of my carbs from vegetables and fruit and nuts. I restrict grains to only a few times a week. I do not have a sweet tooth, so avoiding those carbs is easy.

I have the book too. It shaped the meals I made for my family for a decade+. It is still on the shelf. The lesson in the first 90pages is still pertinent if read as a treatise against modern processed food. Going back to whole foods just needs a different companion volume.

I really enjoy legumes prepped many ways (indian, tex-mex, italian) over mounds of chopped steamed kale. Legumes have the heft I need to feel full when I am hungry...but not enough protein even when I top the mounds with hemp kernals.

I found it. Sprouted Soybean Tofu. thank you. I am going to press it in hemp kernals for a quick pan fry.

Lost 4lbs in March and again in April. Weight loss slowed in May and bounced up and down in June. In July I asked my acupuncturist/TCM (gift to self for 60y bday) for diet input. My new macros on 1100kcal are: fat at 50g; net carbs at 90g (carbs less fiber) (AND the carbs cannot be from starches--processed grains,…

Need some help with my protein macros. I need to hit 60-90g daily. I am already adding hemp kernels to vegetable and legume dishes. I use chia and flaxseeds to make 'pancakes.' I dislike sietan, but I do like tempeh. Yet I usually do not break 45g. My acupuncturist/TCM professional has given me a diet that includes 12oz…

What's up with stevia? I tend to use maple sugar or birch sugar or honey--when I want a little sweetner, which is not daily.

Supplementing with protein shakes, and I have tried various platforms (soy, whey, whey-iso, plant, etc) all resulted in weight gain for me and I honestly recall being hungrier using them. Keto was a great way to satiate my hunger so I could reduce my overall caloric intake, closer to what my doctor was suggesting (which is…

I agree with coffee-plain. I have been doing IF for more than a year. Abt a year was net carbs >45g; Last 2 months net carbs >95g AND that is working well for me. The increase was to allow for more legumes and vegetables.

I hear you--trying to find that forever plan that supports good health and brings vitality.
