Just reading your thread here Ladies with your love of Braunschweiger. If you have a Trader Joe's, you might also like their chicken-liver based Truffle Mousse Paté. Look for it in the refrigerated section with the meats / salamis. It comes in a little tub 3"x5". 85% fat cal, really delicious. I eat 1/4 of the tub sliced…

Hi Folks. I'm doing the two-week challenge on dietdoctor.com and have just finished Week 1. I lost 4.8 pounds during this first week (initial weight 145). I've also been tracking fat/protein/carbs using the My Fitness Pal food diary just to check where the calories are landing. I have not even been able to eat all the…

I think you (original poster) are being too simplistic about what the NYT article said. The point of the article is that the science is much more complex than calories and exercise. By dieting slowly and really changing WHAT you eat, not just how many calories, you can slooooowly modify your biochemistry. The Biggest Loser…

As a sexy women closer to 60 than 50, I say GO FOR IT - younger men rock. Besides there is no indication of any correlation between age and maturity in the Y chromosome crowd, I can attest to that after my decades on this planet.

Good luck! I started March 26 after putting it off for a year. So far, so good.

Trying to remember when the last time had a 25-minute lovemaking session was. Might not have been in this century.

Our "ancestors" also had not achieved our level of brain evolution .... I believe there is a correlation between brain size/function and the commencement of human agriculture? Perhaps they also lived a hard-scrabble life of running after food instead of sitting in front of the tube over-consuming empty calories, or sitting…

Whether you are vegan or not, Susan Voisin's Fat Free Vegan Kitchen blog (blog.fatfreevegan.com) has EXCELLENT recipes for eating more vegetables/whole grains/fruits and minimizing fats - in a natural way. She basically follow's Joel Fuhrman's Eat To Live philosophy and is always creating new things to add to her amazing…

I was thinking of suggesting reflexology too - if you can afford it, MUCH cheaper than massage and a great once-a-month treat to relax and reset your brain chemistry. To the poster, I just want to say you are young and have your WHOLE life ahead of you! I know it feels hard but look forward, not back, and look at all the…

Any room to sneak in under the deadline? I gained back the 5 pounds I lost earlier this year and need help getting motivated again :(

If you've invested 4 days, why not hang in there until you've cleared 7? I had variable weigh-ins with the Virgin Diet; there could be several days with nothing, then a dramatic drop. Also, your body could be resisting the change and getting ready to shed. I would suggest logging your foods in the fitnesspal tracker to see…

Hi, thanks for your wisdom. My point is, I am eating FAR less sugar than I was before when I would binge at night looking for the stuff in all my cabinets: I am not eating cookies, biscotti, dark chocolate bars, things like this that are baked with sugar. I am eating 2 servings of fruit instead of 4 and not juicing the…

Hi, I am on Day 19 of the Virgin Diet. Sad to say, I have only lost 3-3.5 pounds, but then again, I really only had 10-12 to lose to begin with. My problem is slowly accumulating belly fat, and blood sugar creeping up into the pre-diabetic zone, over the past few years. So I really think the people who lose "7 pounds in 7…
