Cindy, that is soo much closer to my goal as well. I plan to hop aboard that forum as well! - Kathy

Today I plan to finish a landscaping project, once a storm passes by around late morning. I may even go for a bike ride.

Good question - I now wonder too. I plan to ask my doctor about the latter part as I had the understanding of entirely.

I never knew that! I drink a cup of coffee every morning, after I take my med. Oops!

I have hypo but my Vit D levels are fine. I learned Chai seeds are NOT good to take with thyroid medication as the Chai seed can dangerously upset the balance. The thyroid hormone is a finicky one, so I wouldn't recommend taking this supplement if you're taking a synthetic one at a prescribed level that your doctor knows…

Jlynn, phenomenal! Way to work through your plateau!

Did a lot of walking and gardening (really more like landscaping) yesterday. So today, my energy wasn't as abundant but I did do a good amount of walking. I'm drinking tons of water (8 glasses plus) but I still feel a bit dehydrated.

Way to go BBB! Nice to read the progress that everyone is making :) Midweek my weight went down slightly (179) but then bounced back up to where I was last week (180). Only measure change is chest (36"). I upped my calories slightly this week (too many temptations of ice cream!) and I was more active overall. I'm hoping to…

Cindy, beautiful job! You'll definitely be in our thoughts next week :flowerforyou:

A neighbor who I hadn't seen in many months complimented me this week on my weight loss (40 lbs since I talked to her last Fall). She was looking down at her own (very fit) body as her hands traced imaginary curves in the air while she told me how nice I was looking. I guess I'm starting to finally show some curve, which…

Today I'm going to be active outdoors (finally, nice weather!). Yesterday Family treated itself to eating out - crab. Nice treat, but my tongue was shocked by the salt used to make it which really (pleasantly) surprised me.

Yesterday I did a lot of gardening (fun!) and a fair amount of walking. Today the weather is rainy, so I'll do squats & lunges. Made big batch of chili (fiber!) yesterday. Planning chicken tacos for dinner today. Haven't been closely monitoring my water intake the past couple days, so I'm going to make sure i get in at…

Wow, I'm impressed by all the things you tried! I'd rather not try more meds since I encounter negative side effects too often (migraines, etc.). As for melatonin, I don't have trouble recognizing that I want to sleep; I have difficulty staying asleep. I heard on Dr. Oz show that cherries contain natural melatonin (at a…

Yes, I have (about 4 weeks ago). But this problem came about after that testing. So I'll be sure to discuss this with my doctor when I see him in a couple weeks. I agree: I'm sure my balance is off somehow and it's affecting my sleep. Also, since my activity is somewhat limited (and slowly increasing), I'm sure that's…

I take my thyroid med in the a.m. I try to get in a walk each day. Since my movement has been limited (adrenal gland went haywire on me and I'm trying to get back my strength), I haven't done as intense of workouts. I think everyone's explanation really hit the nail on the head - not getting enough physical activity in the…

I find that when stress is really, really strong in my life that a long, warm shower helps to relax me and my muscles. My thyroid meds too only go so far too during these times, so I have to pull out a few extra ways to boost my mood. I enjoy sipping on chamomile tea at night, to also calm me. Last pointer is walking at…

I'm so impressed by the progress you've been making in this challenge! Way to go! :flowerforyou:

I like your goal!

One pound down from last week! I was able to walk farther than I was doing the past couple weeks. And, I've been doing lots of light yoga daily. I saw a noticeable difference in my waist measurement this week. (Other slight changes since last week include thigh and chest.) I decided the past couple days to try to increase…

Today I will bike (no more than a mile).

I'm so grateful that I've been able to do a little more this week, with no rebellion by my body! Lost a pound this week, probably water but I'll take it! Down 5 lbs since starting this group, 20 since starting MFP, and over 40 since starting my journey last September. Wk 1 187- Wk 5 182 (5 lbs) Measurement changes since…

Hope everyone's having a great Memorial Day weekend! Today I plan to fit in some gardening and walking.

Met my goal yesterday. Upping protein and seem to be working. Feeling stronger. Will add sit ups & lunges to my routine.

I never heard of Armour before now. I just read up on it - provides TH4 and TH3, rather than how levo works (just TH4 which is expected to be converted to TH3). Interesting... I'm going to discuss this with my endo as I don't produce the hormone at all on my own. And, I had a set back (energy, etc.) a couple weeks ago.

I may not be a die-hard exercise wise but I am not giving up on some progress... Yesterday for the first time in over 2 weeks, I walked for 30 minutes at a pace I could handle. My poor Golden kept glancing back at me with such patience. Today I'm going to do the same, even if it means only going about 3-4 blocks. That's…

Hi Ladies! I'm 51 and from Chicagoland. I too have a thyroid issue, stemmed from a pituitary issue that's now affected my adrenal gland. I started my journey to loose weight last September at my heaviest wt, 211. That's also when I started hydrocortosone and levothyroxine. I'm now at 184. I often see plateaus and often my…

My progress may be slow, but progress nonetheless! Wt. at start 187, Current 183... BMI was 31.8 to now 30.4. Down 4 clothes sizes! Chest/waist/hip start 41/39/44 to now 38/37/41.

Interesting - thanks for answering my questions. :flowerforyou:

Kcritter, sounds like good advise. Do you take levothyroxine as well? Just as a personal note, I have a problem with the "protein to go smoothies" as they tend to have a lot of corn syrup and that upsets my stomach with this med.
