Just take the burn as a bonus and don't bother logging it as activity. Are you planning to eat back those burn calories?

Restarting C25K for the second time. I started last year, but stopped before week 5 after rolling my ankle pretty badly (non-running related). It took its sweet time getting stronger and then ... summer! It's still hot and humid now, but I went out and shuffled myself through W1D1. I'm happy with my pace and time so far.…

+1 Love this movie :)

Look at you dude! Great work!

I've only gone back a week or so in your diary, but you do seem to eat a lot of your calories from bread and butter. Are you able to use less butter? I'm curious how thickly you spread it on so that you're using 40 grams for two slices of bread? For a vegetarian, you don't seem to eat very many vegetables or pulses. The…

This whole time it's never been about the scale for me. It's all about the clothes! I couldn't care two figs what I weigh. I just want to wear all my beautiful clothes!:heart:

Hi, Southern Hemisphere here too - hello! Thigh chafing is the reason I stopped wearing skirts and dresses a loooooong time ago. However, to prevent chafing in summer time, we always used a bit of baby powder to dust between the thighs. On particularly hot days, you may need to reapply. Especially if you work in a building…

Oh thank goodness someone else admits to the milk thing!! I agree completely with the milk - if it looks and smells fine, then it's fine to consume. I get a lot of judgement from work colleagues on that. On the other hand, I probably sneer at them somewhat when there's three days to go on the milk expiry and they won't…

So I'm getting back on board with Couch to 5K. Started originally in July. Got as far as W3D3 before a (non-related) injury made me sit out for 2 1/2 weeks. Restarted again last week, and today: W3D2. Ended up modifying a little, by running one extra interval at the end. Entire Flo Rida song 'Low'. Turns out that bad boy…

My vote's on the bike, because if you feel like doing more (distance, time) you can. If you head out and it's just too much, then you can turn back in and finish up indoors

Oooh! My sympathies. I tore my meniscus skiing a few years ago. :brokenheart: Definitely need to concentrate on non-weight bearing exercises. Swimming & cycling would be the two most convenient. Take it easy when you do. Don't substitute running at a frantic pace for swimming or cycling at a frantic pace. This is very…

I'm of the school "distance and endurance first, then the speed will come later". I'm also progressing through Couch to 5K (Week 3 baby!) and I've got to keep telling myself something like the above so remind myself that I'm building stamina not speed.

Oooh! I love this game! I have a file of over 100 food/exercise/diet quotes  The one that always keeps me going is: What you eat in private shows in public. You can lie to yourself and not log everything that you eat all you want, but you can't hide it on your body.

Yes!! LOVE the movie Cube. Def include it on the obscure list. Have only ever been able to watch it twice - both times video rentals. Didn't even know it was a trilogy.... As soon as Australia gets access to Netflix (legally) I'll have to look them up! Favourites of mine, a lot have already been mentioned, so therefore…

That looks brutal! I can feel my abs are in pain without even having to do these!

I love my fitbit one, that I've been using April. I agree with what others have said - if you are looking for an accurate record of your calorie burn, then you are looking for a heart rate monitor. Where the fitbit has a plus - as far as I am concerned - is all keeping track of all those incidental activities you might do.…

OMG Me too! Thought I was the only one... ETA: Ooh! Rollover thread!

Yep! Metric is beautiful! Can't wait until y'all catch up. I'm so glad that I don't have to work the imperial system. Don't forget, we even do temperature in nice numbers too. Freezing = 0*C, Boiling = 100*C. Pleasant days ~25*C

Okay, I'm new to this concept, but I'll give it a go. Australian here, so my measurements will be metric first, then pounds for all you lot behind the times  SW: 106.1 kg (233.9lb) CW: 100.5 kg (221.56lb) GW: 95 kg (209.44lb) Weigh in Dates: Start of Month (6/01 Sun): 100.5 kg 07 June Fri: Because I'm away on this…

I thought that Americans drove on the right side of the road  To be fair, most countries drive on the right hand side of the road. Australia, UK & Japan are the (biggest/most populated) countries that don't. I love the metric system. It's all I've even known and it's GREAT!
-
Are you sure? Because I have a feeling somewhere that I've seen American cups (as in the cooking/baking type) are smaller than our standard 250ml. I think I have seen them listed as 240ml, or even 236.6ml (which, presumably one rounds to 240ml). P.S. Australian. Weighs everything in grams. Has no idea how you are meant to…

That's one happy capy!

I take my time and savour every bite. Really taste my food. One - the enjoyment of eating something yummo lasts longer and two - I don't eat as much because I realise when I'm full.

Interesting wording in your title: 'Have to'. I don't have to exercise. No-one's forcing me, I've not been medically advised to; I could lose weight through diet alone. It would just be harder. I personally find exercise beneficial for me because: - when I'm active I eat better. Some un- or sub-conscious link where I crave…

ETA: Not sure if my reaction gif is working, but my opinion on this is a big fat NONONONONONO!

I bought myself a FitBit One with a voucher I had from a fun-run I'd entered. It's small, subtle and unobtrusive. No-one knows I've it on and I wear it throughout my day. I've only been using it for the last 2.5 weeks, but I absolutely love it! I live in a third floor walk-up, with laundry room on the ground floor, so when…
