beck - you are just burnin' it up...its hard to keep up with you!

I could not find on their website where they said to wear it on your leg. I did read about how they tested different placement of the monitor and that the back of the arm was the best spot. I just can't see how putting it on your leg would be accurate if its built for arm placement.

breezedaze - that is an interesting approach. I am in stage 5 and I am really enjoying the whole thing. chuckles - I hate it when things like gyms and stores are closed on my days off! sam - everyone deals with stress differently. sounds like you are balancing getting some needed sleep and still getting to the gym. What is…

welcome luv! good luck jo! I am going to lift tomorrow am...

As my mom always used to say "when all else fails, read the directions"! I did not see that. Thanks!

good morning all...happy memorial day! I went to spin this am and I am headed to get a massage this morning! I was planning a bigger "me" day with yoga and a manicure, but my daughter looked so sad when I told her that I could not chaperone her class trip this afternoon, I caved. sam - wow, tandem nap sounds awesome!…

I lift 2-3 days per week and play soccer, run, do spin, or do sprint workouts on the other days. I tend to skip the BWM and HIIT because my time is up after the lifting. I am in stage 5. I lost 15 pounds and since the end of January and I am pleased with my strength gains. I would say that you should adjust the program how…

Yea Jo! Welcome to stage 5! I totallly agree that getting the weights into position is a huge challenge for this stage! I really feel like I am cheating only doing 4 reps if the weight is not super heavy. That being said I went over 4 reps a lot today bcse the gym I was at did not have half plates to add to the lat machine…

Hi Ladies - just sunning myself by a creek while the kids play between soccer games. I did 5A2 this morning...it was awesome. I upped a lot of my weights. Sam - go for a hike! You will warm up once you get going! Will your kids go with? Cowgirl - my 10k was just a run. It was really nice. St Catherines is a town on the…

Cowgirl - that is an awesome workout !

Sam - that sounds FUN! Agree with you regard getting big. Add to that the fact that most of us are in calorie deficit mode and there will be no getting big. Cowgirl - congrats on your progress! So, I am just chillin in the hotel room (we are away for the weekend at a soccer tourney). It looks like I may have lucked out two…

Hi everyone (ie BECK!) - I did 5A2 today...LOVE this stage. I could REALLY use a spotter though. The hardest part about the one hand OH squat and the chest press is getting the weights into position. I got one set of chest press done today at 70 pounds, but had to go back to 64 for the last two sets.

I am the same as Sue - early workouts most days of the week. evenings are kid time and my job is generally too busy to get away from for an hour+. I agree with Beeps though, 9am workouts are perfect...I try to do those on the weekends! I did 5A2 this am. It was really great. I am toying with extending this phase because…

beck - you definitely want to hold back your right arm until your left arm is ready to progress...dont want to be lopsided!! glad you are back, I am looking forward to lifting tomorrow. I was just looking at stage 6...looks kind of interesting. Because I am doing the warrior dash in july (strength will be important!), I am…

you are right about the differences. the next move in the progression is the single leg squat. for me, the impact is that the balance is harder and the working leg is more isolated in the BSS. also, you will need to use dumbbells or a bar once you progress past 45 pounds on the BSS.

colling - you can pick any exercise you want: treadmill, bike, rower, etc. Then follow the really hard/easy pattern they lay out. I was up super late last night trying to get caught up on some work after my vacation, so no workout this am. I can't wait to continue stage 5 tomorrow am. I was really lucky to get two great…

sam - sorry to hear about your money issues! Here is a filling cheap dish: sautee hamburger, then mix with black beans, frozen corn and mexican spices.

Hurrah!!! Way to ROCK the heavy lifting!

I would do #2...start stage 3. you won't lose strength during your week off, so why not move on? #1 is not a bad option if you are enjoying stage 2. Definitely don't do #3.

wow...you have been through a lot! Sorry the road has been so rough. Glad to see you "back on the horse"!

greetings from vacation! the last two days I have taken a daughter to the gym and did a weightlifting session. Daughter 2 liked it a lot more than daughter 1. I am going to lift again tomorrow morning. My eating on vaction has been ok, but don't ask about my alcohol consumption...yikes! Ethie - not many hotel gyms that…

yes, we can!! dedication and focus are the key. I have lost about 15 pounds since the end of january...10 to go!

I will post my results a bit later, but I just wanted to jump on and say I did 5B1 last night. WOW is this stage something! I got 4 reps@70 done on the first set of the chest press, but I could not do a single one in the second set. I really need a spotter for that move!
-
hi ladies - trying to catch up on all of the posts! busy week last week and on a short vacation now. I am staying at a hotel with a GREAT gym. I did 5A1 last night and will do 5B1 tonight. Ran 4.5 miles yesterday. Atlanta is a beautiful place! beeps - a twinge when you up the weights makes me think "nerve related". do you…

I am so silly, I posted on Friday in the stage 4 thread. I did 5A1...and I totally kicked it!!! The four reps was interesting. I may extend this stage bcse its so challenging. Once you contol the weight, its not so bad, but gettting into position, I think I may kill myself! looking forward to 5B1!
