Yes you can gain muscle mass while in a calorie deficit! As long as your in a deficit, you'll want to exercise to build muscle, not lose it.
-
Exactly, short and simple and so true!

Feel free to add me too, or any of you actually. Must have diary open though. Looking for people to motivate me, and I can certainly do the same!

Its a given that McDonalds is garbage for our bodies, but yes you can lose weight by eating any crappy food, the key is to stay under your calorie goal (calorie deficit). Honestly, me personally would rather eat healthy stuff through out the day then waste my allotted calories on one Big Mac meal or what have you. It's all…

Yes, exactly what he said! Bottom line calories in equals calories out! For myself I prefer to lift weights and do planks and squats. Cardio ain't my thing, lol. For some it is and that's fantastic! So dont you worry about not being able to do as much cardio, you'll work what you can in to your schedule! Cheers

Whats working for me is staying under my calorie goal, as well as walking for 45 minutes 4 days a week. I refuse to exercise till Im blue in the face....what fun is that?! But I will say my measurements and weight is continually decreasing, just from these simple changes.

As busy as life gets and lack of time to get things done, I think we would all agree to just step back and ask yourself " How badly do I want this?" Your not new to MFP so you know the steps that you have to take in order for you to lose weight and be healthy. If your really lacking time to exercise, then just stay within…

Hi Jessica, your definitely not alone on how you feel. I re started on MFP on September 16. I haven't missed one day of logging in, and because I'm actually following my calorie intake I have lost 11 pounds already! You just have to want it more than anything and constantly keep telling yourself that you can do it!!!!! My…

Stay strong, keep motivated and keep visualizing yourself at your "prime." I've been on my fitness pal for 25 days and I've lost 10 pounds already! As long as your honest and track your calories you'll be shedding the pounds off too. Keep it up! :)

TDEE is : Total Daily Energy Expenditure. This is the number of calories burnt in a day scaling BMR to level of activity. It's the number of calories you need daily to maintain your current weight. Example: my BMR is 1549.25 my TDEE is 2130.21 Now in order for me to lose weight I must consume less than my overall needs…

Well said, I have lost almost 10 pounds from the short time Ive been here. It's all about math and doing the math right! I used to be the person that thought counting calories was dumb. But then I was the one gaining weight! But since rejoining MFP I understand the calories and why it's important to count them! Woo…

Hey if you want a bowl of popcorn, (5 cups to be exact) and only want to use up 100 calories.....make your own on the stove. You know the old fashioned way. Heat up oil on the bottom of the pot, add kernals and well next thing you know you have popcorn! It's only 100 calories with no butter....still it's very very very…

Hey, maybe just google light weight training from home, or lifting weights to tone....you will get a lot of different links. Hope this helps a bit. I lift 7-10 lbs weights and thats good enough for me! Good luck:)

How can Pepsi be substituted with anything else? If you love Pepsi, go for it, drink it! As long as your making better choices with your food and exercise, I say live a little!!!!! You deserve it! I love Pepsi too, I drink a couple mini cans a week, and it makes me happy:)

Thanks Teabea, I do strength training with resistance bands 4 times a week as well. I really dont want to eat at a deficit either. I don't want to lose muscle! Fat fat fat thats what I want to lose!!!

Just a question, what if you don't eat back calories that you burned? My calorie goal is set at 1200. Sometimes it goes up to 1450 when I do some cardio. So what if Im just staying at a consumption of 1200 calories/day? Thanks in advance.
