  • I am 5'8", 41 year old mom of 2. I lost about 10-15 lbs and have been maintaining at around 138 for about 1-1/2 years. My before pic isn't that great (I am not too good at selfies) lol. My goal now is to maintain my weight and keep getting stronger.
  • There are a lot others that can provide better suggestions, but 1800 seems low for a male at your weight, exercise level and current BF%. My suggestion would be to weigh and log, at least for a little bit to make sure you are doing it accurately. Good luck with your training!
  • Want to follow this thread. I am a huge Jillian fan and would love to hear more about Body Shred. Good luck! You can do it!
  • yes, abs have nothing to do with clean eating. Tracking your food intake and lifting is key. You need to add some type of weight training to your exercise routine. I don't have access to a gym, but I do a variety of exercise with weights and HIIT at home. After 2 kids and at 41 years old I have a stomach I am proud of, all…
  • I have been following this thread all day. Love this post.
  • yes, I remember those days, as well. What helped keep me in shape was a double stroller. That was the best purchase I had when my two were babies. They enjoyed riding in it and I was able to get my exercise in.
  • I am enjoying this thread too. Enjoying reading everyone's experiences and advice.
  • thanks everyone for the suggestions! I am looking forward to checking them all out. I think DH is going to love it. I would guess that some of these would link to an ipad as well? The GPS sounds cool too. He walks 18 holes of golf a lot, so it will be neat to track that, as well.
  • haha! He would love it if it would do that last one. That's too funny. Thanks for the suggestion about the Microsoft band. I will have to look into it.
  • 5'8" and maintain around 135/140lbs (41 yrs old). I consume around 2200 calories a day and exercise about 5 days a week with with a mix of cardio and weights for around 45 minutes to an hour.
  • I love Jillian's workouts too. I am doing Body Revolution right now and really like it a lot. Another one of my favorites, besides the ones that were already mentioned, is Banish Fat Boost Metabolism. Its all cardio and really works up a sweat. Keep up the good work!
  • 5'8" 135/140 weight range. I have been maintaining for over a year now. This range is where I feel my best.
  • 41, two kids and have been maintaining for over a year now. I lost 15 lbs right before my 40th birthday. You can do it!!
  • I only workout at home and use a variety of Jillian's DVD's and run outside or on the treadmill. My favorite Jillian DVD's are 30DS, Banish Fat Boost Metabolism, No More Trouble Zones, and Body Revolution. I just purchased her Body Revolution set and am really enjoying it. All of the workouts are only 30 minutes long. I…
  • I have had two c-sections. I was able to get my tummy back in shape thanks to a variety of Jillian's workout DVDs and tracking calories here on MFP. I didn't eliminate anything from my diet. With accurate calorie counting and exercise I was able to lower my BF% and lose 15 lbs. Good luck! You can do it!
  • Man, I want fish tacos now! Those look great! I stay motivated b/c I love the way I look and feel. I lost 10/15 lbs over a year ago and enjoy being fit at 41. I don't eliminate anything from my diet. I love to eat and I love beer and wine. I just find a way to fit everything in within reason. Find an exercise you enjoy.…
  • still blushing on this one. I will never be able to make that without thinking of this thread now
  • Hubby loves it when we make our own "special sauce", similar to the above sauce recipe. Light mayo, pickle relish and ketchup and a splash of vinegar. We do that a lot when we grill our own burgers.
  • I have had two c-sections. I give Jillian a lot of the credit for helping me get my flat stomach back. I combined cardio and lifting. I have always enjoyed workout DVD's so that's just what worked for me. Good luck! You can do it!!:)
  • Tacos! Any kind of taco. I could eat them everyday. oh and also beer. oh wait..that's not a food!

  • If you are not a beginner to cardio and weights, I would suggest doing one of her other workouts. The 30DS is great, but for me, I don't burn as many calories when I do the 30DS as I do with some of her other workouts. Banish Fat Boost Metabolism is a great workout. A little bit longer, but you will burn a lot more…
  • I totally get what you are saying. On one of my before and after pictures I posted over a year ago someone said they like my before picture better. I was about 15 lbs heavier. That wasn't really a compliment but still. I was like thanks a lot! lol! You've done a great job, so be proud! Congrats on the weight loss!
  • Jumbo top shelf margarita on the rocks and a big plate of fajita nachos. yum!
  • lol! That is too funny! This really made me laugh out loud!
  • Great job! You look awesome! Isn't it so motivating when you can really start to see them? Makes me want to work even harder!
  • I love beer too! Any kind, light, dark, amber, I love it all. Looking forward to a cold one (or three) this afternoon!
  • Stay at home Mom and workout at home Mom here too! I love doing Jillian's DVD's along with some free weights I have here at the house. Also like to run outside now that the weather is warmer. We have a treadmill too, but I would much rather run outside. How is the 21 day Fix? I always seem to rotate 30DS, Banish Fat Boost…
  • yes, I agree with the above. It takes some time to get to feeling back to normal after a sickness runs through the family. It can be physically and mentally exhausting, especially on top of all the other things that have to be done to run a household. You'll get your motivation back. Just start with baby steps and before…
  • That's great you are enjoying too. I hear you on the planking. lol! I don't mind the two handing planks so much. Its the one handed planking that really gets me. I don't want to hurt anything!
