    Before and after. Took 6 months:
    5'10"
    Weight 167 -> 149 pounds
    Waist 32 -> 29"
    Hips 41 -> 37"
    Thigh 24 -> 20"
    Pants size 12 -> 8 (sometimes 6)
    Not a great before photo but I think it shows a difference.

    I wanted to ask all of you tall ladies your opinion. Taylor Swift is 5'-11" and weighs 119 lbs. (this is according to an online search) I think she definitely looks thin but I don't think she looks too thin, do you? However, I weigh 165 and if I got down to 119 I think people would be concerned, why is that? Am I too influenced by what society thinks is skinny? My original GW was 145 but now I think it should be lower. Thoughts? Opinions on this? Thank you.

    I just looked at some pics of her. I don't think she looks unhealthy, but I don't find her weight very attractive. Her legs look good, but her upper body is kind of bony...I saw a pic of her back and her shoulder blades protrude too much, and her arms are too skinny. I think if she gained A LITTLE...maybe 5 or 10 pounds...she would look ideal for her frame. That would only put her in the 120s. Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and millions of people disagree with me and think she is perfect as is.

    If you think your goal should be lower than 145, then do it. You can always wait and see how you look when you get there and decide if you want to lose more. At various points of my weight loss, friends would tell me not to lose too much more...they were saying this when I was still in the low 200's!!! I think part of the issue is that tall people weigh a lot more than they appear to...most people would have probably guessed I weighed less at that point. Also, if people are used to seeing you heavier, the change can be shocking and it takes a while for them...and you...to get used to.

    Finally, "society" has a warped view on weight. 2/3 of the American population is overweight or obese, so people see heavy people all the time and think that is normal and okay. It's not. Average is not healthy in this country.

    Definitely the motivation I needed. I am 5'11. I started back in 2012 just to lose some of the weight I put on since getting married and a bit more. In the span of about 2 years I went from 290 to 215. I got pregnant and unfortunately had a very sick feeling pregnancy. Although I felt sick the whole 9 months I never actually was physically vomiting and the only time I didn't feel too bad was when I was eating! Needless to say I gained 45 lbs while pregnant and gained a little bit after. I am back to lose the weight I gained and the rest of the weight I need to lose to reach my 1st main goal of 180.

    I am 5'8", 41 year old mom of 2. I lost about 10-15 lbs and have been maintaining at around 138 for about 1-1/2 years. My before pic isn't that great (I am not too good at selfies) lol. My goal now is to maintain my weight and keep getting stronger.

    Thank you guys for the encouragement! I work out at home, so I do a variety of Jillian Michael's DVD 5/6 times a week. I have my favorites that I rotate depending on how much time I have that day. I also have a set of weights ranging from 5 to 25 pounds where I do deadlifts, over-head presses, etc. I would love to one day get a bench and a bar with weights, but the free weights are good for now.

    Jillian's workouts really helped me lose those 10/15 lbs that had been hanging around for a few years and gain strength. I have found that I really enjoy doing her workouts. Being able to do plank jacks, and stork stands and things like that have really inspired me to keep going.

    oh, wanted to add....I love to eat too. :smile: I did not eliminate anything from my diet. I just tracked and weighed everything. I still log occasionally, but not on a daily basis. Thanks again for the kind words :smile:
