Down 82lbs in 5 1/2 months. Started at 280 and now at 198. I'm also 28.

My hair loss seems to be slowing down a lot. I'm 5 1/2 months out. Hopefully this is the end of it! My hair is see through on top. I can see my scalp. :(
-
More protein maybe?
-
I'm a little over 5 months out. Down 80lbs. 40-60lbs away from goal. My dr says 1000-1200 a day. I do go over some days and under others.

Yeah, we flew to San Diego, then drove in. It wasn't too bad at all. Other people there came from a lot farther. :)

Thank you all! Yes, protein and vitamins are a must! And, I live in WA state, so Mexico wasn't too far. :)

Does anyone use rogaine? My SIL's NUT recommended her to use it and I am wondering if it would help.

Mine started at 2 months. I am at 3 months now, and it is still coming out by the brush full. I have naturally thin hair already. I am noticing thinner spots on the top/back of my head. My sister in law says you can't tell, but I can. Hoping it stops soon or it really will be noticeable. My sister in law's NUT told her to…

V8 Splash with Energy! Only 50 cals. They also have a diet version with only 10 cals. :)

When I had it, I literally could smell it myself. I was really self-conscience about it.
-
Try some dry mouth mouthwash also. There is a special kind you can get.
-
At two months I was moved to 800-900 calories a day.
-
I'm 3 months out, and I have been eating nuts. I make sure I chew thoroughly (as with all my food of course).
-
This happened to me especially post op for the first few weeks. I figured it was because of dehydration. My mouth was very dry, filmy teeth, and bad breath. Yuck. I ate breath mints and brushed teeth often. Now it doesn't happen hardly at all.

Sleeved Oct 30th. Started at 280 and am at 213 today. (67lbs). I lost a lot in the first 2-3 months (including 2 week pre op diet). These last few weeks have been creeping by though with only 1-2 (sometimes 3) pounds lost. Just make sure you are getting your protein and water in. :)

Definitely eye opening.

Thank you for your story jkern!

I'm down 66lbs in the last 3.5 months. I have 54lbs to go to my personal goal weight. I'm scared of getting off track and slowing down my weight loss. As it is I have only lost 10 lbs this last month. I know that is still good weight loss, but it definitely is slowing down.

plmeiquist--my doctor (and other doctors I have researched) says that carbonation will stretch your stomach. Does your doctor say the opposite? Are you not worries about that? I'm scared of carbonation now. Lol

Thank you all for the responses! jkern, that is exactly what I am afraid of. When I drink I like to snack, so the combination of the two is my downfall. I think I will try to avoid drinking at all unless it's a special occasion. Thanks everyone!

Once you start eating foods take SMALL bites. I didn't realize it was that important until I kept getting food stuck and threw up a couple of times. It's not fun, so make sure you only swallow a small bite at a time. Lol

I am 3 months post op and can drink normal. I don't guzzle just because I don't want to actually get too full, but I can definitely drink normally.
-
I had 140lbs to lose. At 2 months I was 56lbs down. I am 3 1/2 months out, and I am down 66lbs. 54lbs to go to my personal goal weight. 74lbs to go until I am at a "normal" weight according to the bmi chart.
-
I am losing hair by the brush full every other day as well. I have taken Biotin since post op, and I haven't noticed any difference. Hoping it doesn't thin out to the point of see through spots. :(
-
loveshoe, I was nervous too. Just take sips. Mine was room temp/chilled. It wasn't cold. It went down fine no pain or uncomfortableness. Of course, the gas pain will be there, but that can't be avoided. Just keep walking as much as you can and you should be able to take gasx chewables the day after surgery.

Unless you're super tall 151 is not "too thin". I would love to be 147/151! I am on my way! Lol. I would just keep at it. It's a constant process, and you can't get too comfortable. One step at a time. :)

Thank you so much! I tried searching for other groups and couldn't find any. That did help. :)
-
Thanks! :)

Awesome! You will be so happy when the weight starts melting off!!

I'm in my 3rd month. I am down 64 lbs now. Lately, I have only been losing 2-3 pounds a week, which I guess is still better than nothing. The weight loss is definitely slowing down.
