Paula Radcliffe took 10 years to run her first marathon. For me, me have to increase the distance/improve the body a few every month / years until when we will naturally find that we are ready to face a 10 miles race.. half and a marathon. Running doesn't match with hurry. So, don't matter how time that could take, I have…

Hey.. So, try to run the first 5k at comfortable pace and increase 10-15s your pace in the last 5k... Don't forget to eat well in the day before and drink water.. And the most important.. enjoy the race...

I'm a paratrooper. I have a hurry syndrome, If I have to go to somewhere , I do that quickly . Due to that, I hate people who arrive late. I love dogs. I love the beach and the sun! (Well , I'm from Brazil! )

Hey.. I'm 6'0 and 195lbs... My daily goal is 1840 and I'm losing 1lb per week until now. I have calculated my TDEE like sedentary since I spend all day sitting.. I run 4x a week about 5 to 10 miles, in these day I eat half of the calories burned, giving me something about 400-600 cals extra cals to eat..

Why suffer like that? For me we can't say that is an overcoming but we can say than you are punishing your body. I believe that any runner must start from the beginning .. 5k ... 8k .. 10k ... 10 miles... half and finally a marathon.... To run half's and marathon's you should know your body, your pace how to run how to be…

ASICS Lyte 2.0 from 33 Collection... awesome shoe! Just did a half yesterday with it and I'm ready to run again...

That is it for me too!

Hey... first.. DON'T GIVE UP! I have been running for a couple of years until now and the "breathing" always caught my attention with the question "How is the best method to breath while running?" ... and I found that at the start of my runnings the breath wasn't wrong , was just me than didn't have enough fitness to run…
I have a camelbak, but I haven't tried it yet. Longest run I've done so far is 13.1 miles and I never felt the need to hydrate during a run (I know this will change come my marathon, so I need to learn quick).
Every race over 10 miles I usually use the camelbak... It doesn't bother me at all, the only…

I think that I'm the only one here who prefers to use a camelbak hydration bag? lol It's works pretty good for me and I can carry a few little things too...
-
Hey.. so just an advice try to move/open your hands while you are running ... and don't use anything too tight in your pulse for it doesn't stop your blood movement.. I think that would help you all ;;
-
That works pretty good for me! But sometimes I really take some days even a week off the running... But I miss it and I always come back stronger : )
-
Hey everybody ! Just to update, I went to a running store and bought the asics lyte 33 II ... Awesome shoe, just did a 4.3 mile run right now.. extremely light, comfortable and with a lot of cushioning for its weight... By the way, I read a lot of reviews at this site : www.runningshoesguru.com/ And after I searched them…

I see, for me on the contrary I need a little bit of damping to don't get knee pain ....
-
I agree with you too... but for me I still prefer a "normal" shoe ..
-
I don't believe thats happens because the "fuel" . Usually the body can run pretty well 45 min - 1 hour without eat nothing before. I think it's your body getting used to run let it improve and that pain gonna stop..
-
Hey! I'm planning to run the next half-marathon with one of these from ASICS... Lyte 33 2.0 , Don't know if you know that and consider that a minimalist... And I agree with the people from Fleet Feet....... haha I don't like how the Vibram looks like... haha
-
Sorry for that but.... Why just finish the marathon? Why not do a great race and be fine in the picture at the end? : ) It's just my thought... My suggestion for you is 3 or 4 runs per week, split them in this way : - Interval training, to increase your VO2 (Example : 5 x 1 mile in a pace faster that you should be at the…

not my type..

Hey dude, so eat normally until 2h before for the race... 30min before just drink some coffee and it's all.. 5k It's a short race you don't need to eat not special ... Good race for u!
-
Coffee =) That's awesome, for me 30min(when I can) before start to run I drink a cup..
-
For me , within 60 min to the run, I just don't eat nothing with high numbers of fibers ... or milk or any food with it inside ! Milk is terrible hahaha
-
I thought exactly the same right now when I read that.. lol
-
Hey everybody.. so just an advice.. or a tip . To long trainings runs, more than 10 miles. I do like to run with a hydration bag (like camelbak bag) ... That keeps me hydrated all the time and I can take my cell phone too to take pictures of some interesting things that happens while I run : P
-
Hey bro.. that's completly normal.. Try to use a proper shoe and don't stop your runs, soon that pain gonna stop...
