Oh man. And elephant ears / fried dough. I think even eating one on a cheat day would make my stomach upset now.
-
My personal one was something the diner in my town made: waffle fries covered in melted cheddar, chopped bacon, and sour cream. F those were good. The only way I ate them back then was my metabolism was intensely strong as I was a teenager. If I still lived near that diner, I'd probably get them on a cheat meal. Good thing…

Six or seven packets per cup? That's almost as bad as soda. I think that's unusually high. Good on you for getting away from your habit.

I learned the difference between being hungry and being bored. Oh, and how to ignore hunger! I also learned that Pop Tarts simply don't fit into my life anymore. :'( (It's the 2 per package thing! I normally don't compulsively eat but they package twice the amount I should have at one time in a way that only eating one…

When I had a very low appetite/nausea when I was sick a while ago, Ensure helped me get vitamins in and some calories. I mean who doesn't want to drink a chocolate milkshake?
-
Argh, my doctor told me to try to eat more potassium and I'm annoyed by how it's not required on everything. For example, some brands of Greek Yogurt show it on the package, but some don't. Since milk has K, I really doubt the brands without the K listed somehow remove it - they probably just aren't bothering to show it.

My problem with supplements is that they're unregulated. Unlike food or drugs, manufacturers can do whatever they want, short of selling poison. But if they want to just toss corn starch into the mix and call it magical weight loss dust, they can. At least in the US.

Since chocolate is my favorite type of sweet, I've switched to large bars of very dark chocolate. I find out how many calories are in each square of the bar and I fit it into my day by only eating a square or 2 a day. I can fulfill that craving on less than 100 calories of a bar, and a bar lasts me for many days. Since…

Ooh, I make my smoothies with it every day in my Magic Bullet. I love it because it blends well with the bananas and fruits I like, and it has caffeine, which I um...need... Method: 1. Put 1.5 teaspoons of matcha powder in bottom of heat-proof bowl 2. Heat tiny amount of hot water, like 3 tablespoons or so, just enough to…

Eat your exercise calories back, and don't be afraid of carbs, as long as it all fits into your calorie count. I've heard of people who suddenly cut carbs out being more tired and hungry than before the switch.

I thought that the laws for how food stamps work vary widely from state to state.

Nuts are your friends! Or, beef jerky if you don't mind how expensive it can get/ if you eat meat.
-
I adore it. If you want to make single-serving smoothies, especially ones that include ground flax seed (do that before any other ingredients are added), it's the best tool for the job.
-
This was happening to me when I first started using flax seeds in my breakfast. Turns out it was just way too much fiber from the flax. I reduced it to like 1/3 of what the health food blogs reccomend (just 2 teaspoons of whole seeds that I grind, the original recipes online asked for like 2 tablespoons whole seeds.)…

1200 is as low as MFP will go. I know when I've logged under that for a day, MFP chastises me and won't post my status for that day. This 1200 limit can be frustrating for short people, because if you want to lose say, 2 pounds a week, it won't set a realistic calorie goal to do that for you, since the number it actually…

I adore bananas as the basis for the smoothie I have for breakfast every day. I wait for them to ripen, then I peel them and split them into quarters to facilitate calorie counting (sometimes my smoothie is 1/2 a banana and 1/2 a cup of frozen berries, sometimes it's just one full banana for fruit). I freeze them in a…

Ooh, and Polar Seltzer! So many flavors that change regularly.

Tea? Boring? There's such a huge variety of hot tea and tissanes. See if you can find them loose, it's cheapest and easiest to blend your own that way, and usually the loose ones are fresher. There's a discount grocery store near me called Fairway that has most of this loose for ridiculously good prices, I also sometimes…

If you want to log every workout including cardio, choose 'sedentary'. From what I understand the lifestyle option is for your job or how you spend the majority of your waking hours, and your desk job counts as sedentary.

Most delivery places have a "healthy options" menu which is just steamed chicken or other proteins with steamed vegetables, with rice and sauce on the side. I usually do that, and load it with hot sauce. Or I get something I actually like such as fried rice, but I measure it out and log it so that I don't go overboard.…

I don't care about the carb macro. As long as I don't have way too much sugar and feel full while still under my calorie goal, I'm happy.
-
If you want a mild Greek yogurt, try Wallaby Organic. I get the plain. It doesn't have that tartness that other Greek brands have. I've seen it at Whole Foods and Fairway Market.

I'm still eating gingerbread cake that I baked on Christmas day and froze shortly afterwards. It's fine. As others have said, keeping it airtight helps a lot. Also, if they end up drying out, you can use a damp paper towel on top of them when you re-heat an individual piece in the microwave. For a brownie try 30 seconds at…

One of the best points I've gotten from reading the MFP messageboards, is to stop blaming food choices on external factors like a party host having chips and guac out, or a kind room-mate buying fried chicken to share. Eating or not eating that food that doesn't fit into your calorie plan has nothing to do with people…

Dizziness and nausea can also be symptoms of medical conditions, some of which could be triggered by the environment or the behavior of sitting at the desk all day at your office. Have you already talked to a doctor about this?

I liked the sugary drinks at first, but then I started drinking coffee every day. Now I want that pure coffee taste, the milkshakes just taste like ice cream now, so I go for an Americano or a shot of espresso. I usually stir a packet of sugar and a teaspoon of cream into it but that's way less than their pre-made drinks…

Almost all dairy in the US is homogenized and pasteurized. (Except for fancy brands that tout their non-homogenized status on the label by calling themselves "cream top", etc.) The homogenization is a mechanical, not chemical process, but it also happens to whole milk. So is the removal of fat from the milk - if I recall,…

I hate this taste too. It's why I bake tofu for my make-ahead lunches now, even though I'm not vegetarian. It doesn't taste like much other than the sparing amounts of oil I coat the cubes in, but it also doesn't have that funk.

I don't. I only believe in CICO, and it's working for me so far. Fruit easily fits into my calorie limits. I do tend to eat fruit instead of the old sweet junk food I used to eat. It is more filling than that. I also tend to ignore macros, since I have no medical conditions that necessitate keeping track of fiber,…
