Everyone has to start where they are. Try not to compare yourself to others at the gym (I know it's hard - I used to do it all the time). You'll be so proud of yourself when you finish a workout.

This. Find what works for you. Some people are motivated by the scale. Others aren't. Your goal of having a deficit every day is a great, simple way to approach weight loss. You'll do great!

I did! Met my goal weight doing 5:2 and loved it. But it's certainly not for everyone. It worked well for me because it gave me a lot more calories to play around with on my non-fast days so I didn't have to restrict myself when I went out to eat or really wanted a high-calorie treat. Thanks so much for the responses everyone! You've given me a lot to think about. I particularly appreciate those of you who pointed out that I should focus on other things; it seems simple but it's amazing how much space diet and fitness and can take up in my brain :)

I did it!! Ran 3.25 miles today. My pace was incredibly slow (it took about 45 minutes) I'm still proud of myself! I can't believe I was able to run for more than 3 miles without stopping, and took on some pretty major hills along the way!

Week 6 Day 3 done with a killer hill during the last 3 minutes! I was incredibly slow, but I did it!

Finished Week 5 Day 3!! Feels so good to be able to run (albeit very slowly) for 20 straight minutes.

Macros are calculated as a percent of total calories. So, when you log exercise it recalculates your daily calories based on how many you burned from exercise. Since the calories change, the macros change as well.
