  • I have the Alta. I've been using it for about a month, and I love it. No issues.
  • Consider me sold! If this is true, I can't wait!
  • I use Run Double, too, and I've been nothing but happy with it.
  • Ezekial bread is the best! Same calorie count, but far superior to other breads in terms of nutrients, etc. It's made entirely from sprouted grains. I love it toasted!

  • You mean to tell me Lindt chocolate bunnies and chocolate ganache cake pops aren't "Primal" ;-) I have the fish oil at home. I should take it.
  • Thanks again for all the helpful insight. I guess I'm in the very beginning stages of transitioning, and I should follow the Primal diet more strictly. I just wanted some reassurance that that was the right direction and not the other way around. It seemed like the more I adhered to it, the worse the anxiety became. I…
  • Thanks for all the helpful info! I was afraid the coffee was going to come into play :-/ I'm all for ditching as much processed food as possible. I'm a work in progress. :-)
  • I'm in the same boat. Thankfully, my partner never prepares meals, so I'm in control of the cooking. He does, however, bring home lots of chips, candy, donuts, cake, etc. on a regular basis. He is naturally slim and does not have a hefty appetite. He forgets to eat all the time, so he can easily eat whatever he wants,…
  • You don't need to do any extra workouts with Body Revolution. With just the 30 minutes a day, you will notice improved muscle tone and fitness level. By week seven, Jillian really cranks up the intensity, and by phase three, trust that you will feel the burn! It seems that people have mixed results as far as weight loss.…
  • Wow! The pics really depict your success. There's a huge difference! I love Body Revolution. I keep coming back to it. They're such great, short workouts!
  • I'm definitely going to make this! My dad is coming for Christmas, and we all have to watch ourselves. We're all also in love with Christmas goodies, so this might help. LOL
  • Personally, I don't think 1200 calories is enough for anybody. However, the more weight one has to lose, the larger the deficit can be. I really shot myself in the foot by eating 1200 calories, as I started the program at 5'6" 138 pounds. I ate at 1200-1400 precisely because those were the guidlelines recommended by…
  • Now if you are attempting the TDEE Deficit method along with syncing the BMF, you gotta set things up correctly to maintain your 15% deficit, or else those adjustments can ruin everything. You basically need to either use the BMF to get avg TDEE and then take your 15% off, manually set your goal, and unsync the accounts.…
  • Love Jillian! I noticed the fat around my core shrinking before anything else, too. I've also been impressed with my shoulder definition, but the took more time. She gets results, and NMTZ is a good one for the knees. None of that plyo torture. Congrats on your success so far!
  • I remember when you were doing that. I think that's why I bought it, come to think of it. LOL. I just don't know if I'm brave enough to push my calories to the max and gain 10 pounds (which I'm sure I would). I have increased them to around 2000 daily, though. Baby steps.
  • I found this post interesting. I've been wearing a Bodymedia for a couple of months. I would say my average burn is 2400 calories, but a typical day is around 2200. At least that's what I thought. Now I have no idea if I should trust the Bodymedia. I've been lurking around this group but was too scared to take the plunge…
  • Find a good 20-30 minute workout. I happen to love Jillian Michaels, but whatever you like. If you can find a way to squeeze it in two more days a week, you'll be good. I can find a million reasons why I don't have time (sometimes they're valid), but in reality, how can you not find 30 minutes? It will suck because you'll…
  • I had to stay on Level 1 for like two months the first time around! I messed up a knee, so that set me back, and I just wasn't physically fit enough to get through Level 2. If you keep going, you're not going to believe the progress you'll make! I basically changed my whole lifestyle after starting 30DS. Good luck!
  • The first time around I used 3 and 5 pound weights. The second time around I'm using mostly 8's and 5's for the anterior raises. Start small and work your way up, and have a couple to choose from since some moves are harder than others.
  • I substitute vanilla protein powder mixed with almond milk in place of cream in my coffee. It's basically the same calories and loaded with protein. I had a lot of trouble getting enough protein, too, but you'll get used to it. :-)
  • I don't have any "real" workout buddies, either, nor much support from my family. Most of my motivation comes from my "Pals" on this site, which has helped me tremendously. There's no magic pill for sustained weightloss. There really isn't. You have to eat healthy and be active. If you're not into working out, why not go…
  • Have you tried PB2? I'm a peanut butter junkie, too, and that stuff saves me! I dip apples and celery into it, and it tastes pretty good.
  • It all makes sense now! No wonder...
  • I can't see the pics on my work computer, but I have the pooch. I've never carried much fat in my abdominal area (compared to other areas), but that pooch...I HATE it! I think the only way it will go is if I get down to like figure model body fat percentage. As I gain confidence, though, it bothers me less and less. I've…
  • I, too, suffer from snack addiction. For me it comes in the afternoon when I get home from work. I guess it's one way that I unwind. My snacks dont' have to be "junk", just snacky. LOL. Try to snack on high fiber fruits and veggies. Thinly sliced apples with a tablespoon of peanut or almond butter or a string cheese,…
  • It's on clearance at Target, and I love it, too! Definitely a muscle builder, and you can always up the weights.
  • My name is Nikki. I'm 33. I have a 10 year old son, and two daughters ages 7 and 3. I was chubby growing up and overweight as a teen. I was soooo insecure about it. I got stretch marks everywhere, which sucks when you're in high school! I stopped eating red meat when I was 16 and dropped about 20 pounds without thinking…
  • I definitely recommend C25K, as well. You'll amaze yourself! I also suggest Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. That is the workout video that really took me to a level where I could actual workout at all. I stayed on Level 1 for like two months instead of 10 days, but it worked. It's only like 25 minutes and it's broken into…
  • I learned this the hard way. Everybody who was eating back their excercise calories lost weight, and I did in fact go into "starvation mode" and stopped losing after a couple weeks. However, I think this applies more to those with less fat to lose. If you're truly overweight, your body won't resist the weight loss as much.
  • Great post. I had to say a little serenity prayer to myself, recently.
