Fantastic accomplishment!!!

pinkmoon, your heart and soul always comes through in your posts, and your success is evident, and you have been a consistent and supportive MFP friend. So screw the punctuation. I'll take sincerity over grammar any day.

Just simpy amazing!!!

Here is a pic of our first attempt with it. Interesting. Just let it set for four days and then store indefinitely in the fridge.

Thank you so much for sharing this. This made me want to share a poem of sorts that a teacher of mine had in his classroom from high school. Please take a look. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/246419-desiderata (I had originally thought you posted just on the friends wall and wanted to share Desiderata with…

The relevance of the question is that if you can't answer the question then you don't know how your plants were raised and therefore you have no idea how many individual animal lives are taken to produce the plants that you eat or the after effects of any chemicals or methods used.
-
Can you tell me the name of the farm where the plants were grown that you ate during the past six months?
-
Sorry, but you are making a lot of assumptions about how and where I buy my beef. The cows grazed on grass that grew wild and naturally on a sustainable farm using only organic imuts. Grass fed and grass finished. I don't live in a rain forrest. I really think we are in agreement about the problem - my solution is to eat…

One very interesting point in "Omnivore's Dilema" is that in the broad scope, it is impossible for us to eat without causing the death of animals. Even if you decide to eat only plants - what happens to the mice, moles, etc. when you plow the earth to plant the food? So, if your interest is to cause the least number of…

Our society has become dependent on the low cost of food produced by the food industry. As such, I mean no disparaging remarks towards those that can't afford to spend more on food. But the healthy way to view this is "it costs leas to eat poorly than it does to eat healthy". Other cultures spend a lot more of their income…

It has changed our life. I posted about this recently also - http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/235456-consider-the-big-picture

Oh - the calories: banana - 105 strawberries - 12 Blue Berries - 23 Grapes - 15 Total - 155 Oh - and one more thing - use frozen berries and grapes and non-frozen banana. The banana gives the texture.

Thanks. Just found out my daughter is expecting.

Omnivore's Dilemma was a real eye opener for me. It's a whole world outlook and how we as humans exist in our environment. We have also signed up for a veggie CSA as well and are planning to freeze and can. I would love to get to a point that we don't buy anything trucked from hundreds or thousands of miles away, and not…

After reading "Omnivores Dilemma" I am all about grass fed and finished beef. We are signing up for a meat CSA that supplies such.

This is the "nerd room" :ohwell:

Thanks - that is what made sense to me but wanted to be sure I understood it correctly.
-
I saw it on TV too.

I should also note that I compute my own calorie goals which is already a bit lower than what MFP would calculate for me. So when I say that I am 200-300 below my target, that is more than what MFP would compute. I'll compute it for MFP to see what the difference is.

You seriously should consider being an inspirational speaker. You have accomplished what very few humans are capable of and a model of dedication and perseverance.

A HRM is only useful in measuruing calories burned during aerobic exercise, because they effectively measure the oxygen demand based on your heart rate. A body bugg measures other parameters (and does not measure heart rate at all) so it is useful for all day use.

AWESOME!!!!!! I know what it has felt like for me to have lost 40 pounds - I cannot even begin to imagine what this must feel like. Thank you so much for sharing!!!!

Yeah pretty much - having the app on my phone helps a lot. If I take one very small bite of something I won't log it - like maybe a small bit of icing from cakes brought into work. But something like a small reeces cup - yeah I log it. After a while you get to know the caloric content of foods and learn that if you eat…

This post - now I'm hungry

Me too - what an unfortunate place to cut off the sentence

Thank you so much to everyone!

Seems like almonds is the front runner - if I want them to gain calories then any reason to not go with roasted instead of raw? (no salt of course).

Could I ask you to elaborate on that a little? What were the symptoms of exercising too much? (Again - I'm not stopping exercise - just exploring this a bit.)
