I would have absolutely no idea - which was the problem. I was so ignorant - my only concept of healthy eating was "low fat". If it had low fat, it must have been good for me. Geez.

Agree about the sodium. A couple of other ideas: Have you adjusted your goals to account for weight loss? Also, if you measure exercise calories using an HRM, then be sure to subjectract your BMR calories from what your HRM reports.

I read somewhere that you don't have to depend solely on your willpower. I try to make plans to avoid testing my willpower. For example, next time you walk that route, plan ahead for a KFC snack. Look at the menu ahead of time oinline and plan for what you will have and work your meal plan around it for the day. Let it be…

I use the Wii Fit Plus and EA Sports Active II. I often run on a treadmill when running on the Wii Fit Plus. For the step areobics, I put the board on a step bench to increase the workout. Also walk and use recumbent bike.

Well since I started this thread - I have watched my water intake a lot more closely - and counted things like my coffee, etc. And found that I am not as far off as I had thought. Not up to 19 cups - but pretty close.

If, as you say, everyone is coming to this site to be completely accurate about tracking calories and not eat too much, then I agree that the "right" way to do it is to be 100% accurate in the order that you record your calories and workouts. But, I think that it may be a bit presumptious to speak for everyone on this…

I have been watching my iron also - but yesterday I noticed that not all foods in the database have the iron contents included. So now I'm not sure how far under I really have been, and will be watching more closely the food items I choose have all nutrients included.

Yep sure does. You add calories by eating and burn calories by exercising. Doesn't matter the order it occurs and there really isn't anything magic about a 24 hour period except it makes for a natural unit of measure.

Just wanted to say thank you to those serving and their families for their sacrifices. Regardless of how I or anyone else feels about the reasons for US involvement - I am still thankful for those that are out there putting it on the line.

My wife just makes mashed potatoes (skins and all) with NOTHING in them except sometimes low sodium chicken stock. Then I put tobasco on them. Yummy!!
