I'm a software development manager and spend a lot of time in meetings with customers and on conference calls. I am the organizaer for many of the meetings. It would really not work to leave every 30 minutes or so. Maybe it's just cuz I'm getting old :ohwell:

Yes, this was helpful - snip snip - Approximately 80% of our water intake comes from drinking water and other beverages, and the other 20% comes from food. Assuming these percentages are accurate for most of us, the recommended amount of beverages, including water, would be approximately 9 cups for women and 12.5 cups for…

It means I know where you spend your early morning hours

Drinking it isn't the hard part - it's getting rid of it! I can decide when to go fill my water bottle, but I can't schedule a trip to the bathroom. I would be in the bathroom every thirty minutes! Forget two hour meetings - or even one hour meetings.
-
Ok, so water from foods has to count towards this too - but how can you estimate water in foods?
-
There is NO way I can drink that much water in a day! That's 145 ounces - 18+ cups - I would have to fill my 24 ounce water bottle 6 times. I might as well just sit in the bathroom if I do that.

LOL - yeah I was up and down the ladder quite a bit. And btw - after several trips up and down that ladder I realized it felt GREAT realizaing that I was able to do it without getting winded - and felt much more confident while on the upper steps. My workouts paid off a bit!

LOL well MFP says 180 minutes of gardening would be 1576 calories!! No way!! I'm gonna give myself 100 calories.

I am at least 150 pounds overweight and am jogging, doing step aroebics, walking. I bought a pair of New Balance last week - they have helped me a lot. I found found that it helps me my bum knee in that they provide more stability. Oh and if you have a Fleet Feet in your area - GO THERE!!!

All BMR calculators are based on averages and I suspect that nobody has the exact same BMR. Accurately measuring your own BMR is really only possible under strict laboratory conditions. If you accurately and thoroughly record all foods and excercises and still don't lose, or lose a lot then you might want to adjust the BMR…

Yes, there are benefits. Especially in times when my knee or ankles won't let me do my normal workouts - I will sit on the ball and do upper body exercies.

The teacher is there to help the students succeed at their goals. It isn't a class to learn how to conform. It is a class to obtain and maintain fitness.

I kept thinking I would worry about my weight tomorrow - and then I suddenly realized that half of my tomorrows were gone. Do it now while you have more tomorrows available.

Congrats!!! I crave the ones - havn't been there since I was 18.

It takes your body a day or two to digest and then "exit" your system. If I have a few days stretch when I am not so "regular" then my weight will level off or increase. Then, it all "works its way out" and I drop again. I have learned to just keep doing the right thing consistently and it all works out "in the end".…

Hence my advice - tell her you want a refund because her music sucks

I have tried to find strategic ways to teach the principals behind the relationship of calories to weight gain. Specifically - 3500 calories consumed = 1 pound of fat gained. As teenagers - they are Invincible. So I hope for that moment later in their life when they look in the mirror or scales and say - oh - and remember…

We cut pretty much all processed foods out of our grocery bill. To replace the quaker oatmeal bars, my wife Jonna makes yummy homemade oatmeal bars. 6 1/4 cups oatmeal 1 cup flour 1/2 tsp baking soda 1 1/2 tsp vanilla 1 cup butter 2/3 cup honey 1/2 cup brown sugar Press into large cookie sheet and bake 325 for…

Just recorded my first water intake on MFP

Thank you for the responses - and I have learned a thing or two. And (all but one  ) of your posts has given me a reason to now record my water in MFP. Great deal!!

Sorry you think it's silly. I keep VERY busy at work and keep a water bottle on my desk. So my water intake tends to be spread out over the day whereas my food intake is only a few times. It's just a little more difficult for me to keep up with it than my food entries. So I need to know a good reason for doing it if I am…

Thank you! Actually, I only eat bread and eggs about once a week (on the weekends usually). But we do tend to have mashed potatoes as a staple and let my wife know about the gold potatoes. Yes, I work out usually once a day - often short workouts but I use a HRM and subtract my BMR calories. I have started some step…

LOL - yeah I havn't logged my water. I understand the value of water in curbing hunger and health in general, but not sure about the other benefits. I am going to start another topic here to gather input on that subject. I have recently cut out soft drinks alltogether - only beverages now is one cup or two of coffee in the…
