I measure my food, like by cups in measuring cups and I don't know how different that is from weighing it? is there a major difference so much that I have to go out and buy a food scale?

Hi guys my SW is 180 and I just started my weight loss a couple of weeks ago. Do you think its plausible to loose 50 lbs in 6 months? I'd like to hit my goal by summer and wear cute clothes and go swimming. Do you guys think I'm being realistic?
