depends on travel snacks or at home snacks. Travel snacks - cheese sticks, macadamia nuts (watch portion), veggies and ranch, hardboiled eggs At Home - cheese and pepperoni (buy stick, not sliced), chicken legs, veggies and cheese, keto buffalo chicken dip and pork rinds or celery, pork rinds and guacamole, bacon cooked…

Friend me. Keto eating for 1.5 yrs. Learned a lot from my own mistakes!

I am almost 6 months on keto and about 6 weeks ago found that I was losing a lot of hair in the shower. I wasn't sure whether to attribute it to keto, or maybe hormone changes. To counter it I upped the amount of dark green leafys that I am taking in and have incorporated more variety to what I am eating. I tried a…

Don't fret, just make sure that you ask the right questions regarding your food. Is the meat dredged or coated in anything, minimize sauces, go for the right veggies and add butter and cream where you can. I often find myself having to get "out-food" and have been successful in making good choices everywhere I went.

You are not longer feeding the flora and fauna in your intestines carbs. Within 2 days of starting a keto diet I went from taking 8 to 10 antacids a day to none. The human body is amazing.

If you give yourself permission to push through, I swear it will get better. It was a huge adjustment for me too and I am now 5 weeks in and 22 lbs down. It takes a little time (and a lot of water) to adjust to the changes but once you start to find the foods you like that meet your macros you will find a huge energy burst…

I agree with the "increasing the fats" assessment and I will add this...as your body loses fat, the things stored in the fat are also released which can bring about some hormone fluctuations until your body gets used to using fat as fuel ( i.e. Aunt Flo may come unexpectedly along with all of her baggage).

great info for a keto newbie. Thanks for taking the time to write.

Agree with all. Mixing it up (both caloric intake and exercise) keeps your body guessing and keeps you losing.

When I made it I cooked the squash in the microwave due to time restraints. Does it actually turn out differently if baked in the oven?

AGREED! If I can find a way too make it taste good to me, I am all for it! I may try a few of the skinny taste recipes, they appear to have possibilities.

When you set up your goals here I am assuming that you set your goal to lose 2 lbs a week. Your calorie plan is thusly built to hold back 1,000 calories a day from your basic caloric needs in order to facilitate that loss. I recommend that you try to eat your calories closer to your goal number (minus the additional…

Try keeping wedges of lemon and lime in the fridge. Water used to upset my stomach but not if I had a squeeze of lemon or lime in it. I also sometime get a refillable drinking bottle, fill it with ice, add about 2 oz of 100% juice (I prefer cranberry or cran-rasp) and then fill the rest with water. I continue to drink it…

How did the coconut milk taste in it? How different do you think that almond milk would be? Did the avocado flavor come through or add to the creaminess of the dessert?

I found this from another resource. I may substitute banana for the agave. Instant Strawberry Ice Cream Makes a generous 3 cups, serving 6 You can serve this ice cream straight from the blender, soft-serve style or put it in the freezer for a few minutes to set up. When strawberries aren’t in season, simply buy frozen…

Shocking your system is the best way to kick a plateau. Changing your caloric intake & switch up the type of exercise you are doing (cardio vs strength training, different muscle groups, etc)

For an interesting take on both consumer marketing, processed foods, and diet sodas watch the movie "Hungry for Change". I watched it the other day and have not touched a diet soda since (this coming from a diet soda addict!)

Fantastic!

I certainly will. Thanks!
