  • I am gluten free because of celiac disease. I ate paleo for a couple of years. It's gluten free and dairy free. I did not lose weight on that diet either, but it might work for you. I ate less that 1200 calories a day. My only carbs came from occasional fruit. I think my problem is a celiac thing. Half of us can't gain…
  • Abdominal bloating can be a sign of celiac disease. Sometimes other symptoms are mild or absent. If it really bothers you, ask your doctor. I had it for 40 years and didn't know it.
  • Ask your doctor to test your cortisol levels. It has to be done between 7:00 and 8:00 am to be accurate. It might be too high. I'm going through the same thing. I've been at this for a couple of years and I haven't lost more that about 5 pounds.
  • You buy access to a website that you use input your height, current weight and some other measurements. The website then calculates your daily calorie allowance and how many grams of protein you need to eat. It also gives you what your maintenance calories are for your ideal weight.. You eat the losing calorie level for 5…
  • Stay away from the message board if you can help it. There are a lot of hateful people here that may discourage you from doing what works for you. Nobody knows everything.
  • Stick to lean meat like turkey and chicken breast, vegtables, some fruit and eggs. Breads and cereals are a waste of calories. I have had a lot of success with 800 calories a day. Lately I have been trying to eat more, because of all the advice out there. I've gained back most of the weight I've lost. I know doctors will…
  • Mine is open. Please look all you want.
  • I was in a plateau for probably 4 years. I would get down to a certain weight and just couldn't go down any further no matter what I did. I kept reading reports that artifical sweetners were linked to obesity. I always I thought " okay your study concluded that fat people drink diet pop. No ****, Sherlock" Well, I gave up…
  • he was rude as hell and needs to learn how to mind his own business.
  • I like the Cindy Crawford workout DVDs. They're old, but still good. It's challenging, but still easy enough for me.
  • I have celiac disease. I've had it for 40 years and didn't know it. Celiacs who continue to eat gluten can get cancer of the lymph nodes and or small intestine. I don't care if I sound like an alarmist. If you think you may have a problem with gluten, get tested. If the tests are negative, but you still have symptoms stop…
  • Pizza, doughnuts, cake, pie, cookies, bread.....anything that contains gluten. Gluten free alternatives are just not very good and cost 4 times as much. If I eat gluten routinely, I could get cancer of the small intestine or lymph nodes. It sucks.
  • I have been gluten free for over 2 years. It wasn't by choice. I have celiac disease. I battle fatigue, memory loss, confusion and feeling icky almost everyday. It sucks, but I don't miss gluten foods one bit.
  • i still like the Cindy Crawford DVDs and the Buns of Steel series. They made be old, but they still work.

  • My butt is completely flat after only losing 16 pounds. My belly, on the other hand, is still nice and big. My boobs are the same, Yah!

  • I have celiac disease which is also an autoimmune disease. It also saps your energy, because your immune system is too busy trying to kill you and not doing its correct job. I constantly fight exhaustion after doing the simplest things. I too felt judged unfairly by people in my life. I understand. People on this site…
  • It was actually my doctor who told me about the Paleo Diet and told me I should try it. I have celiac disease. I almost died from eating gluten (found in wheat) while I thought whole wheat was good for me. I am also terribly allergic to soy. On top of that I have a couple of autoimmune diseases. I went to many doctors who…
  • There is alot of money to be made by selling people overly processed foods with cheap worthless ingredients like gluten and soy. Companies like Monsanto are probably signing your doctor's paycheck. That's why he tells you that wheat is good for you.
  • I am losing weight on 1200 calories a day. I feel great. I have been in a situation similar to yours. People have always told me I needed to eat more calories, but I NEVER lose weight by eating more. I always gain or stay the same. I think that too much of the advice out there is geared toward men who want to gain muscle.…
  • I love the paleo diet. My doctor suggested it to me because I have celiac disease and could not lose weight no matter what I did. It is the only thing that has worked for me in the last 5 years. You have to prepare lunches for yourself and freeze them ahead of time. Don't count on finding anything paleo at a restaurant or…
  • I lost 40 lbs in six months by eating less and doing cardio 3 times a week or more. I dropped at least 4 pant sizes and completely loss the fat on my stomach. I never lifted weights and never did a single sit-up. I was thin and toned. I you are overweight, cardio is the best way to lose weight. If you are already thin,…
  • I have battled stomach fat my whole life. Cardio and lots of it works the best. Although I lose weight everywhere else first. Give it time, it took me over a year to lose my baby fat. If a year has gone by, and you still haven't lost it, ask your doctor to check your thyroid levels.
