I'm starting tomorrow. Is anyone still going?

I'm starting tomorrow! Any advice?

my doctor told me it's fine to wax while preggo. I'm 18 weeks and have had 3. The last one was probably the most painful. I've been waxing for years and much prefer it to every other hair removal method. Luckily my girl is quick so I can handle the 20 min of pain - figure I might as well get used to it (pain!)

I'm very glad to have found this thread! I'm 18 weeks tomorrow and I've already gained 15 lbs! I'm trying not to freak out about it as I know that's bad for my tadpole - but eeek. It's what motivated me to come back to mfp and track. Hoping to get some good support from other mfp mommies =)

Hi Mommies - I'm back on MFP after a detrimental prolonged absence =( I'm 17.5 weeks and have already gained 15 lbs. So here I am looking for mommy inspiration! This is our first, due April 15 and I'm so excited- as I'm sure you all are!

I SWEAR by the tata tamer from Lululemon. It isn't cheap, but I've been wearing mine regularly for 2.5 years and it is still in great shape! It comes in fun colors and most importantly it keeps the girls immobile. I do Jillian Michael DVDs and elliptical training mostly and have no bounce/pain!

Check out some of the post regarding the road map etc. If you're eating 1200 and doing cardio every day you could actually be depriving your body. Eating at too high a deficit is just as bad as overeating when it comes to weigh loss. Good luck!

do you have a friend you can walk with/talk to while you walk? I like to go for walks while catching up on the phone =) What about DVDs? If you don't have access to a gym, they can be a really good option to get you moving at home. You could also try to incorporate 7-10 different resistance band exercises into your daily…

I also have very loose joints - what you were saying about being too flexible is absolutely true. The solution is to be super careful about your alignment or you risk popping your joints out or stretching ligaments instead of muscles. Foam rollers and tennis balls are absolutely the way to go and if you are super flexi…

squats - but instead of having your feet parallel (feet and knees side by side facing the same direction) turn your legs out (feet/knees facing opposite directions). I have a major inner thigh problem too which totally sucks in summer. But the sad news is that it's cardio that really counts for them. We have to reduce our…

We're all in the same boat! That's why we're here. But I agree with all the posters who advocate baby steps. One day at a time. If you want to do it you will find your way. I found cooking at home made it much easier for me to stick to my calorie goals. Good luck!!

I've been doing 2 a days for the last couple weeks and according to my fitbit, I've been burning way more calories. I usually do 30 day shred before breakfast, eat a green smoothie and then go do my cardio afterwards. It's working for me =)

I also really hate running! I love the elliptical too! Lately, I've been trying to change it up by doing the around the world setting and the various intervals! It keeps it fresh. You good also set yourself up a circuit in the gym and change it up that way. Best of luck!

I also really love to swim! My local pool is 50 meters long and I usually do 200 m at a time with 50 m sprints and 50 m recovery. It's an awesome workout! You could also change it up with an IM (1 lap of each stroke). If you find a stroke especially hard it's probably a better workout for you - so relish that! As long as…

check out skinnytaste.com for some good chicken breast recipes. I like to grill my chicken because there's minimal clean up =)

It would be great if you could sub the white bread for a complex carb. I also agree with the other posters about more fruit/veg. Are you feeling full durring the day? If you feel hungry, like you aren't getting enough calories- veg is the way to go. Because you have to eat more to get the same amount of calories, you feel…

I've been doing pilates 4x a week for 3+ years. While I'm strong and have good stamina, without cardio and proper diet you won't see any results. It's a great combo to cardio and I use it as my weight training. Enjoy =)

this!

feel free to friend me and check mine out. I log every thing I eat. I also use a lot of skinnytaste.com recipes. Some of them are a little labor intensive but many more are not. The writer has a toddler and has a lot of great lightened up comfort foods =)

Good for you! I'm no chef but I really love to cook and have discovered that preparing my own food is absolutely the best way to eat well. I hate eating the same old thing all the time so I'm really looking forward to checking out your recipes =) Good luck and keep doing what you're doing =)

I live in Australia but am from the states, so I know it can be annoying when you can't get the food that people say is useful. But I find that by sticking to really natural unprocessed things I'm easily able to achieve my calorie goals. Good luck!!

I've been doing pilates for about 3 years with no other serious cardio/weight management. I am admittedly quite heavy, but I'm also pretty strong. Pilates sets a really good foundation for weight loss/toning. I would recommend taking classes over doing it on your own at home as you can really hurt yourself if your form…

Thanks guys! I'm not sure why I haven't been able to find pilates under cardio. I'm pretty special that way ;-)

I had a miscarriage and I don't think it was related. But, I was so traumatised from the experience that I decided I wanted something positive to come out of it. A new lifestyle and a healthier me. Plus, I want to be a yummy mummy when I do have a child =)

parkour pole dancing swing dancing kickboxing running....maybe. I like the idea of being a runner but am not sure I'll ever be able to do something so high impact!
-
I totally understand where you're coming from! I bring my ipad to the gym and watch while I do my cardio, so far it's the best way to keep me on the machines for at least 40 min! I think a used machine might be best given your budget, either a bike or a stair climber. An elliptical/treadmill would probably seem pretty loud…

I'm in! Feb 1 - 5.33 k (3.3 mi) Feb 2 - 1.27 k (0.789 mi) I use the runtastic pedometer on my android but my fitbit is on the way and I cannot wait!
-
I'm in - 10,000 a day. I use the runtastic pedometer on my android. I'm sure it isn't as reliable as a pedometer but it's a nice base. The free one only lets you log 5 times, but it's a good indicator of what the app entails and should give you a good idea of whether you want to buy it. Since I've cut out buying a $4…

Add more raw fruit/veg to your diet. You can also have a small portion of nuts as a snack. I've also been baking with flax seed flour instead of wheat flour which has TONS of fiber....mfp is actually telling me I should eat less fiber. Any thoughts on this?
