I had a bodymedia fit a couple of years ago and broke it, but it did work while I had it. I just got a Bodymedia Link, as I travel a lot for work and wanted to be able to upload on the road without having to carry my monster laptop with me. While I find it hard to trust the numbers, I decided to just eat 1000 less than…

Two days ago I was doing fine. It was the evening and I had eaten all I had planned for the day and felt fine. Was feeling good about myself and not deprived. Out of the blue, I decided I wanted something else. I had been too far under my calorie goal for the past week and so I did not try to fight this feeling that I…

I've worked up to doing some "jogging" over the past months. I can jog for 20 minutes (I did 30 minutes last week, my all time high in one stretch) at 4.0 mph. Going 5 mph I can go for 2 minutes. I'm not following any set program, some days I try to go as long as I can in one stretch, some days I jog 5 minutes and walk 2…

trail_rnr: Yep this is a wonderful area to live in if you like the outdoors. I have lived here for four years and have not really taken advantage of the outdoor activities available. Alot of the reason being my weight but I am rectifying that situation! Have a great time on your trip! I just got back from my first…

trail_rnr: I think for me the Ursack was a good idea..I'd decided if I was going to get back into backpacking then taking the weight penalty of the bear canister was going to just have to be accepted. The tree hang was always a thorn in my side, the amount of time I spent while tired trying to find a good tree branch then…

Yay for doing week 5 d3...you guys are doing so well!! Keep it up!

I just got my pack all packed up to go on Tuesday morning for either one or two nights! My new pack! My first backpacking trip in years! I hope I didn't forget to pack anything although I went over the checklist three times. It would really be lousy to get out there and have forgotten something vital LOL. Like my hammock…

Hammocks for me! I sleep in them just as good as at home in bed, which is not the case when sleeping on the ground. I have had a Hennessey for about 12 years, and now have a Warbonnet Traveler. I use a 8 by 10 tarp over it. I have been places where I couldn't use the hammock, in the desert, or above treeline and just used…

The second one you posted I could get to work just by copying it and pasting it, but us smaller case for the img tags instead of large case!

You're awesome!! Way to go!!

I am a slow hiker, and on inclines I take smaller steps (I liken it to shifting to low gear on a car LOL), and stop a lot. If its really hard I'll just pick a number like ok 40 steps and rest a minute. I always remind myself I'm out there to soak in the scenery and enjoy the outdoors so stopping every few minutes and…

I think i figured it out..here's some pictures from two weeks ago when I went hiking on several days in different spots...we had some late snow one night. [/url] [/url] [/url] [/url] [/url] [/url]

I'm planning on doing my first backpacking trip in years next week..it will probably just be one or two nights. I got a new pack to replace my old frameless one, it is a ULA Circuit and it sure looks wonderful. And some new hiking poles to replace the single one from Walmart that I've been using on hikes. I've been hiking…

Wow, you're awesome! Loved the mountain pictures there, those are amazing...and the wildlife! Thanks for the blog report!

Loved reading about your trip! Thanks for writing up the report! If I'm physically able when I retire I am going to hike the AT! Only 11 or so more years to go! LOL

I lost 10 lbs in about a month when I started. I netted very low due to massive amounts of exercise and not eating back the calories. Then I kind of stalled out. I'm sure if I'd kept at it I would have lost more weight doing that. But what I started doing was getting into this cycle where I would overeat one day and then…

It seems as though I see a lot of people saying that their BMF gives them a lower number for burn than their HRM's but for me it is the opposite. When I was doing Turbo Fire my BMF would say I burned 200 more than my HRM. I thought maybe because I was throwing my arms around crazily in turbo fire. If i go for a 4 mile…

Thanks for the details! It sounds so wonderful

I found week 4 the hardest. I redid week 3 and on the last interval would just run for 30 seconds longer, then a minute longer etc. If I did it again I would just go ahead and do week 4 and just slow WAY down when it got tough, or just try to at least go longer than I did the previous time. You'll get there! And you will…

Good questions, I would like to know too how it looked coming down, if it is terrifyingly scary. I have concern about freaking and being afraid to move and having all these people behind me that I'm blocking, etc etc. I'm not super afraid of heights but I'm afraid of being afriad lol. I'm always afraid of slipping and it…

Nice work! you're doing great and you also look great in your running outfit pictures!

That is awesome!! I would love to do Half Dome someday! Amazing pictures, thanks for posting and congratulations!

You're doing great! I only made it to week six before being currently sidelined with a injured leg, but I found week 4 to be the hardest one for me. I repeated that week. Week five seemed a lot easier to me, even the 20 minute run. Keep up the great work, I'm incredibly frustrated to have had to stop the program, but have…

Wow what a dodo! Is he totally unobservant and not see that you're doing an amazing job of losing extra weight? I'd think he'd be giving you kudos right and left since he's a coach for a physical activity. Again, what a dodo! 50 lbs lost is fabulous! Keep up the great work!

So I went ahead and tried some jogging today and yeah...bad idea..it is making the knee/leg thing happen..although again, not while jogging, but afterwards. I can't even really pinpoint the pain, its when I bend my knee while lifting the leg behind me. I'm going to have to wait for it to totally go away. I went three weeks…

Keep up the great work! I'm torturing myself looking at this forum all the time because after w5d3 being conquered I decided to give it a rest since for the few weeks before that I'd been having this knee area issue with my left leg. It didn't hurt while jogging, but there are just these weird twinges in it, that was 2.5…

I really like geocaching. I haven't done very many caches although there are tons around me. I have found that the ones that are in towns or along roads don't appeal much to me, but I LOVE the ones that take a hike to get to. I have tons of wonderful public land around me and like hiking and the geocaches give me a target…

That's totally amazing! What a difference. Great work, be proud!!

I completed week 5 day three about a week ago. I for a few weeks previously had been having some left leg pain after running (but not during), and now I'm giving it a rest until the weird pain goes away. But when I did my week 5 day 3 20 minute run it was my breathing more than my legs that was the limiting factor..and it…

You're doing great :)..keep up the great work, you'll amaze yourself!
