Most entries on the database do not include iron as it's not a legal requirement on most food labeling that along with people just not entering means MFP is not a good way to monitor things like iron. If you have worries speak to your doctor

As far as I'm concerned Cake is a food group and should be included as part of a balanced diet. As ^^^^^ I freeze a lot or make smaller batches and frequently especially on the chocolate cupcakes just have half and share it with my wife. It's just teaching yourself moderation and I find I enjoy them far more especially if…

That doesn't sound like much food what's your calorie allowance and how much do you have to lose? Are you eating back any exercise calories?

How long is a piece of string? There is no way to know each individual will differ depending on distribution of fat and muscle tissue also depending on frame size. Also people do not lose weight in the same way as others or even as they have previously and from the same areas.

You are technically under weight so you need to eat to gain weight but also probably do some weight training so that the new weight is mainly muscle. Pop over to the fitness boards they will be able to point you in the right direction for weight training. With some weights you should be eating around the 2000 calorie mark…

If your thirsty drink. The 8 glasses a day is just a made up number (actually by the marketing department of a mineral water company) and has no basis in science. 70% of your food is made up of water also you get fluid that way and through other drinks. the best indicator is thirst as long as you have no medical…

How did you work out your body fat? I would be surprised if you're really at the body fat you think Most methods of working bf give variable results. Also what is your height and what calories are you eating. I would also guess you're within a normal weight range so your goals should be to lose fat not weight. Without more…

Walking (outside in the real world) swimming. Find something you like and want to do. You do not need to go to a gym or join a class to exercise

This thread is hilarious

It wont end well though

Vitamin D does not cause weight gain in itself but the resulting lack of energy can cause your weight to gain as you could be eating the same but with less activity. 20 minutes of sun a day as the above poster said and take the supplements the doctor gave you. Along with setting reasonable weightloss goals and calorie…

I'm 19 years older than my wife. Age is pretty meaningless IMO it's the person that matters

So fingers are more accurate than an ECG quality device. What an interesting concept. Lets clear out the hospitals of all those useless gadgets then. Most people are widely inaccurate when attempting to take their own HR with fingers. Op as others have said HRs vary quite a bit. Also not sure how long you've been running…

There's some lawyers with way to much time on their hands

So once the bet is over what's to stop you putting the weight back on? The problem I see is if you're motivation is money I struggle to see how this will be a long term change for you. Congratulations on your achievement already but maybe have a look at your long term motivations. Good luck

What are you cheating against? Find yourself a sustainable weightloss goal with reasonable and sensible calorie limits and you shouldn't need to 'cheat'. If I want something I have it and fit it within my goals yes it may be a smaller portion than before but I still have it. I'm not perfect there are odd days I go over but…

As others have said 1 pound a week is a great rate of loss. You didn't put the weight on over night and it wont come off like that. Motivation is highly overrated in my opinion. What keeps you going is setting up good sustainable long term habits so that even on your 'off days' you just do them. Part of this is finding…

Steel cut oats have exactly the same nutritional content as rolled oats just with an added pretentious element and cost to them

It's another case of people not accepting they're not counting calories accurately. People would rather think they need to eat more as that sounds far more enjoyable than actually weighing your food

Of course you can eat fish and chips just have a smaller portion and enjoy your night. It's one day and one meal there will be many others and you need to learn you can have these things in moderation

I've found most breadmaker recipes you can greatly reduce the salt. As you can with a lot of recipes it's just a bit of trial and error

I'm in the UK (Scotland) I just run no matter the weather. The weather to me is no excuse. Unless it's physically dangerous I run. It's a mindset you need to get into once your out there you find you enjoy even the horrible weather. I like the fact I run outside no matter the weather while others either don't or go on…

Feel free to add me. I don't race but run a mixture of trails and road and prefer longer distances

What nonsense

I bet you don't and I very much doubt you ate 1000 calories for as long as you said. Everyones logging can be more accurate and historically those who come to mfp and assure us they are logging accurately are normally some or the most inaccurate ones. If you want more specific guidance open your diary but look at the link…

You need to weigh your bananas and use those entries a cup is not an accurate measure of solids
