They probably consider obesity a "pre-existing condition." My guess is that they'd deny you if you had anorexia as well. Eventually, with Obama's health care plan, insurance companies won't be able to penalize anyone this way =)

Yay! I loss to report! I lost two lbs since last week. I'm now at 153lbs. Happy Monday, Everyone!

Bump. Interesting topic.

Thanks Ballay, That might be a future experiment. In the meantime, I've decided to use the cooked weight without the bone... I figure that's what I'm putting in my body.

There's a bunch of recipe sites where you can enter the ingredients to include and it will supply recipes... maybe give that a try? I know you can do this on Allrecipes.com. I'm sure you can do this on many other sites as well. If you find something good and healthy be sure to post it here.

You're an impressive woman! I don't think I could handle doing them both on the same day! I'm still sore from yesterday's 20 minute run (I'll just pretend that 4.6 is a run) :ohwell: Looking forward to learning which week you decide to do!

So I read this thread earlier today and felt *obligated* to do the shred today :ohwell: . I wasn't going to since I had walked earlier in the day, but after reading everyone's updates, I felt I should give it a go. We'll I'm still a bit sore from yesterday's 20 minute C25K run, so when I started (and at several other times…

I had an awful time with Wk 4! I didn't complete a single day successfully! I decided to lower my speed and repeat the week - it made a HUGE difference. I had been increasing my speed since W1, and decided it was no longer sustainable. I have plenty of time to focus on speed later on. I also called on my internal…

Thanks for your help Steve!

That's awesome! :drinker:

Then I have no excuse for this guy's behavior. :indifferent:

I have a question for you. Your ticker only has you listed as losing 4lbs so far. Is that your total loss so far, or only the loss since you've been on MFP? I ask because 4lbs likely didn't have a huge impact on you appearance-wise. So maybe what he's attracted to more for your new attitude and less for your new body. Just…

I'm lucky, a lot of my friends who are runners, were previously non-runners.... So they know this can be done, and are supportive in my efforts. The people you're talking to are probably just people who can't scrape up enough chutzpa to even attempt to do this on their own. You can do this! We all can! ;)

Just got back from my W5D3 20 minute run! I'm so proud of myself that I actually pushed through! Like others before me have said, it really is a mental game. I've never been good with that game - I mean pushing myself - so this is quite an accomplishment for me! I did make one mistake, that I plan to learn from. I put my…

Love it! So glad I found this thread :flowerforyou:

I noticed that the daily goals default to a daily recommendation of 30% fat - I thought this was more than I wanted to aim for in my diet, so I changed the settings. I decreased my fat percentage which increased my protein percentage. You can modify these settings by going into Goals >> change goals >> custom settings. You…

I just went to the FB page provided in your URL - you're looking good! Keep up the great work!

Just for today, I will have faith in my abilities.

Congrats on your upcoming wedding! Here are two recent posts you might find helpful. Good luck! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/113609-relatively-light-people-trying-to-get-leaner http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/171756--pics-i-used-to-be-skinny-fat They don't mention the pill, and the first is probably more…

Good job swapping out the creams and sugar... If you can continue to drink it black then great! Otherwise, keep playing around in different milk/sweetener combinations until you find something palatable. As for the veges, try frozen organic. I imagine the bags around the items will limit the contamination with pesticides.…

Agreed. It looks like you've got a lot of highly processed foods in your diet. These foods have a lot of empty calories and gobs of sodium. The sodium, of course, will cause you to hold onto water. I suggest you go into your food diary setting and add sodium to the list of nutrients tracked. I think you'd also benefit from…

I'm actually finding week 5 to be easier than week 4. I have my 20 minute run tomorrow though, so that may change! :ohwell:

I'm a fan of Dave and Busters and the bowling idea. The environment enables conversation, and the activity can help move conversation along. I also like the idea of the progressive dinner - though you may want to hold off on that one until it's a bit warmer. Have fun!

Funny, I've be doing Level 1 and Couch to 5K on alternating days, and had just decided that I need put some extra effort into my push-ups - decided to do some even on C25K days. At this point I'm still doing the modified version on my knees - but am still struggling even with that! Will I still be able to do the modified…

Hi All, Just found this thread - Tomorrow I'll be running W5D3. I had a bit of a hiccup with week 4 - I wasn't able to complete any of the runs :grumble: But after all the support I received on the FB page and MFP, I decided to repeat W4 and was successful this time. I had been increasing my speed ever since W1, but…

Huge difference! You look great!

If you're rubbing the area raw, I would imagine that means you are sliding while doing the sit-up, rather than going straight up and down. Is it possible to anchor your feet more securely so that you slide less? While you're working on that, I suggest putting on a big bandaid/bandage on top of the raw spot - you'll…

stroutman81 - Thanks for much for all the advice you've been giving - it seems like you really know your stuff. That said, I was hoping you could help me out as well. :flowerforyou: I'm a 4'11", 36yo female who weighs approximately 154lbs. I'd eventually like to get down to 115/120. Because I'm so short I'm trying to…
