  • i lost 95lbs going from 285 to 190. I just focused on small goals, each 5lbs would be a new goal. I think it's easier if you break it down into something much more tangible.
  • maybe this can be a catalyst for you to fix it. just be consistent with your diet and give yourself a few months and you can see tremendous change.
  • I used to eat fast food every day and then i just committed to myself. I learned to cook and stopped eating fast food entirely. Soon as i adjusted to this process, fast food wouldn't even feel appealing. I went from having it every day to not having it for years. I lost the bulk of my weight in under 7 months. I went from…
  • i went from 285 to 190. Really i started to notice it after 6-8 weeks. Then after that it was monthly. I took a bunch of progress photos and sometimes you'll feel it in your clothes but if you look at weekly progress you'll start to really notice the differences. It's subtle at first but in hindsight it's far more obvious.…
  • I lost 95lbs while switching from regular soda to diet soda. It didn't adversely affect anything drinking diet soda
  • I went from 285 to 190, in the middle of it i went from 265 to 225 back up to 265 before ultimately getting to 190. When I had regained weight and I knew that since I had already done it once, then I was surely capable of doing it again. Focus on what worked the first time and just stay consistent with it.
  • If you're lifting, you should get protein soon after.
  • I went from 265 to 229 in exactly 3 months, so 36 pounds
  • I just made a goal to go every single day. I felt that making it a persistent part of my day would make it easiest to continue. That was 7 years ago and I've averaged probably 355/365 days a year ever since.
  • hey man, I'm also from ohio, here is my post I did about how i went from 285 to 225lbs gained 40lbs back up to 265lbs and then committed myself to it and got to 190lbs within 10 months. So my story is pretty similar to yours as I lost weight, gained it back and trust me, i hated how i looked with a shirt off, in my post i…

  • i buy 32oz frozen bags of fruit just like from kroger and i mix it with 5 calorie cranberry (or cranberry pinnapple) juice and then sometimes i add whey to it. It's pretty effortless and delicious
  • you don't have excess water, it's just excess weight
  • The difference between 260 and 240 for me was subtle. But from 240 to 200 i looked dramatically different. The change you see in your body is more of an exponential difference than linear. It starts slow but then it starts to really compound as you approach your goal.
  • I don't see what's wrong with weighing yourself daily. I weigh myself multiple times a day and did so while going from 285-190. I understood how my weight fluctuates throughout the day, how food / drinks affect my weight, etc... I think more information is better than just weighing yourself once a week and having such…
  • I understand having a group of items that are a staple of your diet (like certain proteins or vegetables) but eating the same thing every day is just a lack of any effort by your so called coach. I lost 95lbs going from 285 to 190 and I ate different meals each day. It's certainly easier to cook a meal that you can have…
  • hanging leg raises / knee raises provide no strain at all on your back and are one of the best ab exercises you can do.
  • i weigh myself multiple times a day. I have a scale in my kitchen and in my bathroom. I like knowing how my body trends and how my food choices affect my water retention. I think more information the better. with that being said, my morning weight is the one i really care about as it's the most consistent way to compare…
  • I lost 65lbs in 7 months. I think if you're eating really well and being active 2-3lbs a week is achievable. 1-2lbs is very realistic for everyone. if you're getting down after 11 days, then you need to rethink about your commitment to this. It's a multi month process, you don't get fit in a day.
  • Don't go into this already defeated or assume you can't acheive something. Here's my before/after. I lost 95lbs going from 285 to 190. Your body can change quite substantially. Maybe you're just not taking the right approaches to achieve your ideal body. I think if you lifted you'd probably gain alot of confidence in your…
  • I lost 95lbs, i went from 285 to 190. Establishing good eating habits is 80% of it and then just be consistent daily and you're guaranteed success. I lifted at the gym, did 15-20 minutes of running 3-5 times a week and then I ate well. Doing that I lost 65lbs in a little under 7 months, so you can lose it pretty quickly if…
  • Lift lift lift lift...it's way more effective than doing cardio
  • I lost 95lbs. Be consistent. Eat well each day, be active and just stay consistent and your results can be pretty quick
  • just do some extra cardio and make up for it throughout the week...your day will be terrible if you try to only eat 270 calories
  • consistency is the most important thing, stay consistent and results will accumulate.
  • You want to know if you can be to your ideal weight. You can be. I went from 265 to 200lbs in 7 months. That put me < 15% bodyfat and fairly fit. If you weigh 221 today, you can be 150-160 if you do it right. Eat healthy, lean proteins, fruits, vegetables. Be active. lift weights, do HIIT cardio. Don't eat garbage food.…
  • probably less common: Rob Bailey - 'Beast' and also 'What I Live For' he's married to dana lynn bailey so he's big into fitness too.
  • I lost 65lbs in just under 7 months. In the first 3 months I went from 265 to 229, so i lost 36lbs in 12 weeks. This was the difference in my body in those 3 months: And this is the end of the 7 months, having lost 65lbs
  • i've been lifting 7x a week for 6.5 years now, when i first started i was 285lbs and hadn't been to a gym in years and i just arbitrarily decided i wanted to go every day to keep it as an ever part of my daily routine and i've never deviated away since.
  • I think you should look into high intensity interval training (HIIT). So do your ellipitcal at a high speed / difficulty for 20 seconds, then do it at a more base pace for 15 seconds and repeat. Interval training is far superior than doing static cardio. For me i rather run, so i do sprint interval 5 days a week for 20-25…
