I have an appointment with an allergist next week. I've had stomach issues ever since I was a young one. Have had suspicions that dairy may be the culprit, but after tracking ever little thing I've put into my body I'm now clueless. Hope the allergist can give me more insight like your doctor did. I may need a nutritionist…

Wow! Great journey.

Vacation in June. I'm wearing a 2 piece no matter what, but I would like to look a little better than this right now.

I'm right there with you. I had exploratory surgery 3 weeks ago, and in that time I've gained 12 pounds. I feel so ashamed, but at the same time I don't because I was suppose to take it easy. I have to start focusing on my diet. We all do. Don't let stress take over our lives. Take a deep breath before eating…

Every bit of progress counts. Congrats on making it this far in your journey. Here's to losing another 10 BMI points...and then another 10. Setting small goals will be easier to achieve.

I find ways to mask the veggies in other foods. For example, finely grating carrots and mixing them in with marinara sauce. You can't taste the carrots at all. You can also grate up other veggies and mix them in with your favorite hamburger patty. I also support the idea of trying to cook the veggies in different ways.…

After years of not playing I got sucked back in.

I like to make vegetable curry. Pour it over rice. Delicious and full of vitamins.

Yoga is a great exercise. You learn to stretch all those achy muscles.

I remember the 1st time I jogged for longer than I was used to. I was so proud of myself. Getting out of that comfort zone helps you improve in more ways than you think.

I have the Fitbit Charge HR. I find that it does make things more accurate by having the heart rate monitor. You can download the Fitbit app right to your phone, and plus it will sync with MFP. Easy to use and maintain. Quick hint: Even though they say the Fitbit device is waterproof do not shower with it. For some reason…

I like making kale chips. You can add whatever spices you like and are oh so delicious.

I gave up soda for Lent one year. Totally went cold turkey. Have been soda free for 3 years now. I noticed that it was a lot easier than I thought. Sure the headaches during the first 2 weeks were killer, but I felt better. My chronic heartburn was nearly gone. My skin started to clear up in certain problem areas. Sure,…

Way to make it to the half way mark. You look great!

I make a running playlist on my iPod. I start off with a moderate paced song. Then I add a couple of fast paced songs. Then back down to a moderate paced one. See the pattern? You run to the beat of the music. Most songs are between 3-4 minutes. It will give your heart a chance to catch up or slow down when needed. You can…

The benefits of doing yoga can be so rewarding. I agree that a good instructor should be asking the class about their issues of the day. They might be able to modify or lead off with a pose that will help your knees...or whatever is ailing you. I took a yoga class in college for a semester. There was a woman in her 40s…

I find that running can be the best workout ever. For me, the best feeling is when my chest hurts from inhaling the cold crisp air. I know that my run was a success when that happens. It gives me that high that most runners talk about. All you have to do is start out slow and then work your way to a faster pace. Just…

I love Fresh Thyme. The problem is that I live on the west side of Indy, and the closest Fresh Thyme is on 86th street. If it was closer to me I would shop there all the time. I'm a vegetarian, so I love the options they have for me...and they are reasonably priced. My dad loves the meat they have...and my dog loves it…

When I was growing up my mom made 1 meal for dinner. It was a take it or leave it situation. I too am a vegetarian now and find it hard to please everyone. Your kids will learn to eat healthier when you show them that these foods aren't so bad. It also helps to have them get in the kitchen. The more they help with prep…

I love shredding veggies and adding them to other foods. Carrots, onions, zucchini, and bell peppers go well in marinara.

You can place whole fruits and veggies into a Ninja or Vitamix (anything like them). It will pretty much pulverize the food into a drinkable liquid. You will still have all the nutrients as if you just ate the produce. These drinks would make a great snack or morning pick me up.

Looking good. Go Noles!

Way to go. You're looking good!

Congrats! Keep up the good work. Amazing things can happen when you set your mind to it.

That's awesome. I love the feel after running a while. I started out where you are, but I might not be that far ahead. Keep up the good work. You will amaze yourself before you know it.

I was bitten by my neighbors dog about 15 years ago. I was bit on the side of my right calf, so it's nothing like the stomach. I went to a med check and they cleaned the wound up. It's nothing to go to the ER for unless it gets a lot worse...i.e. drainage, extreme pain, or your overall health goes down. If you decide to…

Thanks for the great ideas.
