  • Put it this way - I was getting so lazy about taking my contacts out at night (to clean and store) that I started sleeping with them. The first thing my Lasik doctor said to me (when he was doing his exam) was, "You sleep with your contacts on, don't you?" LOL I had Lasik done 10 years ago and it was one of the best…
  • Huge Marvel comic collector. In my teens and my early 20s, I collected the X-Men and Wolverine series. I still have them in mylar sleeves in boxes. The one I have (that probably has the most value) is X-Men #94. That's why it's hard not to compare the movies with what happened in the comic. But they got it right with Hugh…
  • I'm 42 and I have some co-workers (at the school I teach) that are 24 years old. I had already graduated from high school when they were born...
  • Yes - agree. In fact, I've been to more strip clubs than my husband. LOL So, I think it would be good for him to get together with his buddies and go once in while.
  • I've had both but most of my cars have been stick. I drive a stick now and have for the last 11 years. I live in the Bay Area and driving stick on those hills of San Francisco is such a pain. Try to parallel park uphill or downhill (steep hills) with a stick shift. Not easy.
  • Enemy of the State
  • Congrats on your half! Which half did you do and where? I did a half this past Saturday, June 8 called the See Jane Run Half in Alameda, CA. It was so hot that day (averaging 85 degrees) but managed to finish at 2;25.
  • Thanks for the reminder - definitely puts things in perspective!
  • Congratulations on your first 10K! Once you do your first half marathon, you will be addicted! Allow yourself at least 3 good months to train for your half. I always use Hal Higdon's training schedules: http://www.halhigdon.com/training/51130/Half-Marathon-Training-Guide You can print them out or add them to as an app on…
  • I've done a bunch of 5Ks, 10Ks and half marathons and a couple of them, I've done with a group of people. But for most of the races, I've had at least one good friend with me. But during the race, we do not run together. We just meet up at the finish line. I'm lucky because I know a lot of people who run. But I have met…
  • I agree. Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) can totally get away with being big, but that look doesn't look well on a shorter guy. I like guys who are cut, but still look like they can run. That "top heavy body building" look is not for me. It's a turn off if guys can just "lift weights" but get winded walking up the stairs. I…
  • That was hella funny!
  • LOL Good question. If it meant I'd be able to have "friends with benefits" I may have to lean toward the life eternal.
  • When it comes to guys, I like two types best (with height at least 6 feet): 1) Very lean, but toned (like Adam Levine) 2) Andy Whitfield & Liam McIntyre - the men who play Spatacus on the TV series So, definitely 1 and 4. I've always thought Jason Statham had a great body. But I don't care for that bulky "over the top"…
  • Agree - I much prefer to know because it puts you "in check."
  • I have to lose 10 pounds by June 27 (Vegas), so I'd like to be 126 in 5 weeks.
  • Growing up, everyone I knew had motorcycles, so I grew up riding on the back of them. So in my 30s, I took the motorcycle course, got my motorcycle license, then impulsively went to a Kawasaki dealership and bought a brand new Ninja 250 (my first and only bike). I gave myself a year to practice my riding, then soon…
  • I'm 42, and all the women (I know, including myself) that have had kids - have gotten "mommy makeovers." I'm a big believer in cosmetic surgery. So, I've gotten: liposuction breast lift Lasik Laser Hair Removal Have to admit that the lipo results were amazing. They took 5 inches of fat off my waist. Tried everything (diet,…
  • Yes, I have been waiting these last months for season 3 of Game of Thrones to start. AND perfect timing too because two of my other favorite shows (The Walking Dead, and Spartacus) are ending. No, haven't read any of the books but everyone I know is a fan of the show.
  • Yup - I don't mind if I see the negative red signs in protein because (when I'm good sticking to my low carb diet), they'll be high numbers in the protein. But i don't like seeing the red signs in the calories!
  • I'm 132 right now. I have a muscular build so my goal weight is to be anywhere from 116 (pre pregnancy weight) to 122 lbs. I can't get below 115 unless I took diet pills, which I have no intentions of doing again.
  • Yes - thank you! I'm not a moderation type person at all! It's either I'm being very good with both food/exercise or I "fall off the wagon." I also agree that genetics plays a HUGE part. My brother got the great metabolism where he can eat whatever he wants and I have to watch what I eat or i gain. Main two reasons why I…
  • It's funny - i just posted a thread asking if anyone feels slugging after a cheat day because I had a major one (I ate about 2,200 calories) yesterday. I'm hoping your training is right. LOL I think the longest I went with being good (with my diet) is 10 days, then I have to just break down and eat what I WANT. I don't…
  • My favorites are the Samoas and I can't stand coconut, but I love the coconut on those Somoas!
  • Agree - I like a woman to be curvy, but strong. Also, love the dancers bodies from Dancing with the Stars. If I could have any body, it would be a dancer's body like Julianne Hough.
  • Just watched the most recent episode. What happened to Rick? I miss the bad a** Rick from season one. He needs to come back soon. I hate when his character starts hallucinating (the phone, seeing his dead wife). Michone, Daryl, Carl, and Hershel are still some of my favorites. Hopefully, Andrea comes to her senses and…
  • I've done 5 half marathons and my finish times range from 2:06 (9.26 mile pace) to 2:40 (12.12 mile pace). I was miserable doing it in 2:06 because I was stressed myself out on having to run it fast the whole way. In the 2:40 race, I took many walk breaks, stretched - talked to people. Yes, it was much slower, but I was…
  • I can't justify paying $100+ a month to have my hair colored, which many of friends will pay for. I buy the $7 Clairol color in the box (at Target) and do it myself.
  • Yes - regular In-and-Out Burger that comes with white onions, spread (Thousand Island sauce) but NO tomato. And I do like a good veggie burger too!
  • I'm a runner, so of course it's so much easier and faster to knock a quick 3 mile run than go to the gym. But there are just days I don't feel like running or it's pouring rain and I have to get a workout in - those are the days I'll use the gym. Plus, our 24 Hour Fitness has a pretty good kid's club, so I take advantage…
