  • Hi there, just looking for someone who, like me, is getting married this summer, and or is in her 20s. Would like the support of one particular "buddy", to keep me accountable, and who I can also keep accountable - two way support and encouragement!
  • Hi guys and girls!! I'm really struggling with being and eating healthy at the moment - the problem is I'm just feeling a bit bored with it all!! I'm paying up for a month's gym membership today (previously only paid each time I went) and trying to "get back on the horse" when it comes to food. Any motivationary or…
  • I've been away from my normal environment, my fiance and my scales for a week, and I thought I'd find it really tough to keep up the calorie counting and exercise - but I've done so well I'm really proud of myself. I've been feeling more energetic, less inclined to eat unhealthy foods and actually wanting to do exercise!!…
  • Absolutely stunning!!! You'll look gorgeous in it!! :-) When do you plan to get married?
  • All you soon to be marrieds - what style wedding dresses are you going for? I thought you'd all like a place to enthuse about them so please be my guest!! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
  • You can do it!! :-)
  • How do people feel about the classic "Marilyn Monroe" style hourglass figure? Has it become a thing of the past, being replaced by an androgenous straight up and down figure? At my best I am an hourglass, as my bust and hips measure the same circumference. My waist is 6 inches smaller than these, and I'm working on making…
  • HI girls, and congratulations on your engagements (if applicable!) I'm getting married this August 16th, so don't have very long, but I think I have some realistic goals. I started at 164 lb and since I've started eating healthier (about 3 weeks) I've lost 4 pounds. My top healthy BMI is 155 and I'd love to get below that…
  • No definately don't give up!!! You're probably not doing much wrong, you just maybe need to tweak what you are doing already to get your body really going. I'd suggest three basic tweaks - 1st, eat a little more. Yes, I know it sounds crazy but are you eating what the website recommends? If you are then stick to it, but…
  • Thanks rheston, good advice :-)
  • Yeah that's what I thought. :) Just need to keep up what I'm doing I guess!! Must be doing it right if it's working!
  • Hi guys, I'm feeling really encouraged this morning after measuring myself - I've dropped 3 inches around the waist and one inch around the chest and hips! I'm so pleased about losing inches around the waist, as this is the part I'm trying to target! I know that you have to lose fat everywhere and it's difficult…
  • Thanks! It's definately sugar where I'm getting the bulk of it - because other than the sweet things I eat brown bread and some potatoes most days - generally avoid rice and pasta. Sugar is pretty much the problem generally because it's what I crave too!! Giving up chocolate was a great start for me, but I think I need to…
  • So we all know that carbs are slow burning energy - so how come when we exercise it doesn't come up on here as more carbs to eat? Do we burn them in the same way we do calories? Thanks for your help! I'm feeling pretty frustrated that I'm staying in my calorie count but going over on my carbs most days. I know what it's…
  • Keep at it! It's actually good to give our bodies a break from dieting now and then. If you are doing this for life, you can't tell yourself that you're NEVER allowed those kind of foods ever again, no one can maintain that!! Occasional treats are ok, if not a good idea!!
  • I haven't but a very good friend of mine has it. She has lost considerable amounts of weight on the Weight Watchers Diet and down the gym for an hour 3 days a week. If she can do it, so can you!! She says she does have more difficulty than most losing weight, but she has succeeded. All the best to you!! :flowerforyou:
  • 5 pounds or more by April 1st - want to be just on or preferably UNDER my top healthy BMI - and then start working on getting neatly between top and bottom healthy bmi ranges  My next one will be May when I have my measurements taken for my wedding dress!!! Would love to be at 150 or under by then.
  • Well done!!! :drinker:
  • Having read your message again I think I misread you a little... so sorry about that. Perhaps you could find other ways to beat the sweet cravings? Drinking water is a good one because it makes you feel too full to eat them, or you could do what I do and have an inner "Do I need it?" dialogue. Once you've argued a bit…
  • The sweetners they contain can make you crave sweet things just as much as more natural sugars. They're DEFINATELY better than drinking the full sugar sodas, but you can do better still! I have a sweet tooth just like you, and I find that the more sweet things I eat and drink (whether or not they are artificial sweetners)…
  • Hey I'm trying to get fitter for my wedding too - except mine is this August!!! You have all my support girl!!
  • Hi guys, I have had a bit of a tricky week with the diet, the last three days have been "special occasions" and I've had big meals, and even though I've tried to pace myself and not eat too much, I haven't been able to record my food intake accurately because of the nature of the foods. I've also been a little slack on…
  • I'd say have a day off on saturday and sunday - but don't go overboard, and do your exercise normally on the day you're still dieting. It's good to give your body a break, nobody can keep it up 24/7, trust me. Best advice is just don't beat yourself up, if you do great 5 days of the week and then 2 days not so well, you're…
  • Congrats that's awesome news!!!
  • Good for you, keep it up!!!!
  • I've found the pelvic lifts and tilts on this site: http://www.disabled-world.com/artman/publish/losingbellyfatwomen.shtml very good. They're not as straining on your neck and back as sit ups are, but they do the same thing, and my tummy is tighter already after only 5 days of doing them! Losing belly fat is all in with…
  • Thanks guys, both those suggestions are very helpful!
  • Hi guys, This is pretty similar to what other people have been posting, so I'm sorry for the repetition, I just haven't found the answer I wanted in the other posts!! :indifferent: In trying to eat my daily calories I really struggle because I will go over on carbs or sugars so fast, and find it so hard to find foods that…
  • Getting married is quite good motivation though not really a reward because it'll go ahead whether I lose the weight or not. My dress is being made so there's no pressure to "fit" into the dress since it's resized all along the way, BUT it will be the greatest reward to look at pictures of my wedding day and think how…
  • Thankyou and congratulations for all those years with a wonderful man!! !!! Every princess deserves one after all. :-)
