  • Hello! I'm also a new mom, well at this point he will be 12 mos next month but what a year it's been!!!! I'm looking for new buddies to share this journey with me!! I know we can do it!!
  • Welcome! I know this journey can be a frustrating one at times, but you can do it! 2013 was a particularly difficult year for me and I re-gained about 18 pounds of what I lost with my RNY. "dislike" So I started to track with MFP again. I am focusing on exercising and protein vs carbs again. I am trying to exercise about 6…
  • Hi Everyone! Not sure how much activity this group sees these days but figured I'd say hello! I had my RNY on 12/15/2008 and my only regret is not doing it sooner. I lost my goal weight of 100 pounds, but about 20 of it has creeped back up on me over the course of the last year. It was a very stressful and emotional year…
  • Me too me too! LOL. I'm 5'1 and want to lose about 10 more pounds! Need new friends and support!! nice to meet you all :)
  • I've been mixing my 6oz 0% plain chobani greek yogurt with 1/4 cup crushed pineapple (no sugar added) and 1/2 cup Kashi go Lean cereal...I love it!! I mix the yogurt and pineapple the night before, add the cereal right before I eat it. It's my new favorite breakfast!!
  • I just got hungry after reading that!!! LMAO!! thanks for sharing, some great tips there!
  • I love my HRM, but I have noticed that each time I workout I burn less calories, unless I kick it up a notch like I did tonight and did 3.7 mph intervals btwn 4-10% incline, I knew it was going to be a great workout, but typically each time I do it lately, I burn fewer and fewer calories, presumeably b/c I am getting…
  • I got mine at Olympia sports, but I also know they sell them at Best Buy, and Sports Authority, and ****'s sporting goods... prices all the same. Just an FYI...I love mine too!
  • anything by Lisa Gardner Love her!!! Also Jodi Picoult.... Great stuff!!!
  • Shin splints are the worst!!! I used to get them all the time on my treadmill, especially when I increased the speed/ incline. I must say 100% make sure you have good sneakers with a proper fit, that has made all the difference for me. I have sometimes noticed that one shin was more sore than the other too for what it's…
  • I have degenerative disc disease which ironically enough has gotten worse in the amount of time it's taken me to loose 70 or so pounds....I try not to let it get me down and I push through the pain. I love the elliptical but have been sticking with interval training on my treadmill for convenience these days. Probably not…
  • I just got my polar last weekend and I got it for the same reason to keep me motivated. so far it has worked and I love it! The number of calories burned on my treadmill display and mfp are always much lower than what the hrm says so that makes me happy!
  • I did I did...but I think you might already know this!!! :flowerforyou:
  • I don't personally track my veggies, ....all goes back to my days of doing WW and they never counted veggies in your daily totals so I figure if they can do it that way then so can I. :)
  • I'm down about 75 pounds, my girls are still there in tact much to my annoyance..
  • no need to feel embarrassed... none at all. I have suffered with depression for the last 15 years, and only sought help six years ago. That decision was one of the best I have ever made!!!!!!!!!!!!! I never thought I'd be in therapy or seeing a "shrink" but you know what?? its just another tool for me to get my body/mind…
  • I know when I was working on my thesis, I actually looked forward to a workout so I could get rid of my frustrations! I bet you find time for a little something, even though it seems unlikely right now.
  • I just picked up this one too on Saturday, love it so far!!
  • what a great idea!!! I can say from experience, having lost 70ish pounds over the past 2.5 years that as you progress the urge to "UN-FRUMP" becomes greater as the scale goes down!!!!!!!!!! It's a great feeling. I have 30ish more pounds to loose, but I want to be a "yummy mummie" some day!!!!
  • I like vitatops and have a couple every week or so. The only thing I don't like about them is the amount of sodium... Double chocolate is my favorite, and the new apple crumb is pretty tasty too. Corn and I do not get a long.... I find for the 100 calories they contain, they pack a lot of fiber and protein. just my opinion…
  • I have a nordictrak treadmill at my house and I love it, espeically the ifit cards and the workout that Jillian Michael's gives me and I don't have to adjust anything, she does it all and kicks my *kitten*!!! LOL. I am lucky though that I got the treadmill from my brother who after going through a divorce no longer wanted…
  • I am soooo sorry you had to endure that. Clearly that doctor missed his training on how to treat his patients with compassion, and that is terrible. Nobody deserves to be treated like that. I personally would not waste any time filing a complaint and then moving on getting a second opinion and a doctor who actually cares…
  • Hi there. I totally struggled with the same issue about eight years ago. I was under extreme stress at work and was doing a "low carb" diet at the time. I would do great during the day, go to bed....sleep for a bit and wake up each night like clock work to "snack" or binge is almost more like it. In the AM I would have no…
  • AWESOME!!!! same thing happend to me today, pulled a pair of pants of the rack at Kohl's tried em on, realized they were a size smaller than I intended to pick up and they FIT!!!! WOOT WOOT! Go YOU, go ME, GO US!!!

  • thanks everyone!!! Its hard finding people that understand what our bodies go thru, I love this group!!! I am going out tonight to celebrate a friend's birthday and my new job....so I'm going to splurge a bit tonight and have scallops and bacon mac and cheese. You all know I won't eat it all but it sounds delish I can't…
  • great job, you can totally do this!!!! Keep it up!!
  • Hey guys.... I guess I'm just going to vent and get it out my system b/c I know you all will understand. It's 7pm where I live and I've eaten all my meals, and tracked my evening snacks...totals 1134....that's beore my 300 exercise calories... I don't think I can stuff anything else in my stomach tonight, and I feel like…
  • I think I would count the pizza, then count the olive oil separately perhaps....hmmmmm
  • I'm 5'1ish...my goal is 125-130....can't remember the last time I was that size. That would give me a grand total weight loss of a little over 100 pounds which is A-OK in my book. Got about 40 pounds to go now....
