Closing in on 4000 days. I first came here March 31st, 2014. Day 3841 today. Started a serious exercise program on November 10th, 2014. Starting Mass: 191.8 kilograms [422 pounds ... 30 stone, 2 pounds]

Ditto that. My younger brother has extreme narcissism problems ... he has almost always ridiculed my battles with weight and found great mirth in passing negative comments at xmas & easter family gatherings. One of my sisters and I (since we hated his nasty scrutiny) checked to see if he's RSVP-ed a 'yes' to an event ...…

Well, on March 31st, 2019, about four weeks ago, I cleared a full FIVE YEARS on MFP. I've had many ups and downs with self-control, etc. but it's been worth it sticking it out. I started out at 5' 9" at 422+ pounds and a BMI over 60. On July 17th, 2017, I was 385 pounds after much yo-yo-ing and misplaced motivation and…

>> TNP doesn't drive FALSE ... I certainly do drive ... 46+ years with a driver's licence in this state (and 50 years driving ... my first 4-5 years were track driving under supervision from 12yrs of age). - - - The next person visits at least two museums or art galleries per year.

Apple Watch 4 as an early xmas present/reward for myself.

What made me smile? Well, yesterday/Saturday, the racists and xenophobes and ultra-right nutters in my country copped a huge serve in response to their nastiness to refugees and asylum seekers. The racists, xenophobes and ultra-right nutters try to portray EVERY African or Middle-Eastern immigrant as a potential criminal.…

Just posted comprehensive instructions for how to do it with either major app.

The app for iPhone/iOS and Android DOES allow for status uploads to include photos to be uploaded simultaneously with your message. 1. Go to APP or its DIARY. 2. Click the BLUE circle with the PLUS sign at the middle bottom of the screen. 3. Click the GREEN "STATUS" button. 4. At the bottom of the panel, about mid-screen,…

Well, it's 5:52 a.m. here in Eastern Australia and my local pool opens at 7am. I plan for a three hour (or longer) swim today. In the meantime, I'll take the four cardboard cartoons of PET plastic bottles, aluminium cans and glass containers to the reverse vending machine at the recycling hub just around the corner from…

I have been through Vivofit 2 and Vivofit 3 and, although Garmin has a great app and super archiving of one's exercise, the MOOV I have been using for a month has a better "instant" interface after syncing. (My Garmin's were way less waterproof that advertised ... and I swim 2.5 to 3.5 hours per day. The Moov wins on…

I'm sure that, at some time in the past 25 years before my gastric sleeve surgery, I would have gained 5 pounds (or 2.3kg) in a 24 hour period. I used to eat a lot of 5h1t once upon a time.

I lashed out today after five hours in the pool doing 270 laps. Had a 100g banana, a quarter of a 700g rockmelon (cantaloupe), 55g pitted cherries and 55g blueberries. About 50-52g sugar towards my 110g per day limit.

Panties and Snowman.

A further note. I have some Isowhey (Madagascan Chocolate & Tropical Banana flavours) in the cupboard. I bought them last May, a couple of months before my S-I-L's surgery. They taste fine but I only use one occasionally (maybe three or four times per month) not like the sixty serves per month my daughter's husband lived…

My Son-In-Law went to a shake diet on Jan 24, 2015 when he became aware (from his local doctor) that his 208kg (458.5 pounds) had eventuated in Diabetes2. He immediately started on Isowhey twice per day plus two fruit snacks and a 'normal' dinner. A week later he began moves to have bariatric surgery by July last year. By…

Raw cocoa powder is loaded with fibre and anti-oxidants. It's also a great brain stimulant.
-
Maybe try raw unsweetened cocoa made with boiling water and a dash of skim milk. Only 40-45 calories in a double mug. Living without sugar and sweeteners is worth trying.

MYOB. Let your girlfriend think for herself. If you really find her to be in the wrong health-wise/diet-wise AND it disturbs you, move on.

I'm surprised you're finding any more than a hand full of foods that are not in the database. Put a few keywords, two or three, then either "grams" or "ounces" and you should score.

I am a longer term MFP user ... almost 25 months this time around for about 40kg (87 pounds) lost. I, too, am a grandparent ... six mini beasts aged 13.5 years down to 17 weeks.
-
Nothing tastes as good as being slimmer feels.
-
Ditto that. We have a woman in our MFP group who aimed for five minutes on stairs on Day 1 and a target of adding an extra five minutes every third or fourth day. It's now six weeks and she's up to 40 minutes per day. She's observed that her shortness of breath is going away and, with dieting on 1700 calories daily, she's…

Vivofit2 is a waste for swimmers despite the near perfect ability to count steps in running/walking. My exercise is 2-3 hours swimming per day and it's next to useless ... totally inaccurate compared to the Lifetrak 410 that I was using the last three years until it died. And don't get me started on the p155-p00r app that…

Yep ... good quality band-aids that won't loosen with perspiration/movement ... and, perhaps, a running singlet a size or two smaller that will hug you tighter.

My trainer (about four years ago) suggested that if I was 'too tight to eat' or not ready to eat after my gym workout i should sip on 250-300 millilitres of skim milk or soy light milk to aid muscle recovery. These days, depending on my swim time (usually 125-200 minutes), I still occasionally use the milk theory (and it…

The time is set to the time zone where the international head office of Garmin is located. You can change it from the Garmin Connect App to your local time.

For anyone who wants to get weight loss moving, can I just say that swimming takes away 99% of the joint pain that other exercise might bring. It's a very fluid, easy thing to paddle or breaststroke or just walk/jog in the swimming lanes. - - - Further tip: If you can afford a good set of waterproof bluetooth earphones,…

This is also a return to MFP for me. I started at 191.8 kg (422.8 pounds) with an initial goal of reaching 81kg in 30 months. I managed to get to 176 kg (388 pounds) and stalled for several years. In a rush of blood and knowledge, I set out again on April 1, 2014 to get the whole thing started again. By November 1, 2015,…

Two things I did: (a) TODAY: pre-packed my breakfast and lunch, including coffee & water, before I went for my morning swim. Recorded the calories/micro-nutrients on MFP. This allowed me to relax in the knowledge that I was organised from 5am to 1pm. (b) YESTERDAY: used the extreme heat (44C ... 110F) as my excuse to…
