That's fantastic! Keep up the good work! Love the NSVs!

Great job!

Thanks for all of the kudos and responses! One of these days, it'll be over 4 bags of dog food! Now if I could just get my breathing problems under control (was okay, just recently started bothering me- think my asthma's trying to come back), I will step it up a notch with my exercise. Ccarpe- that's fantastic! Congrats on…

Great job!! Hard work pays off!

That's exactly what I was talking about! So maybe that is it. I don't wear my clothes tight at all. Actually, I work in a soil lab, so it's jeans and t-shirt every day and I usually wear the shirts that aren't snug at all. I guess like someone else said that doesn't make much sense if you don't want people to see how big…

You're doing great! Those inches!! According to my measurements (which are probably wrong), I've lost 3 inches in my hips, gained 3 inches in waist (still not 100% sure where to measure for waist) and stayed the same in the neck. When I was going to the gym, they would measure arms, bust, midrise, waist, hips, thighs, and…

Thanks for all the responses! I figured that with them being different brands, that would sort of explain the other jeans and skirt not fitting. But I had no idea that they actually change sizes. Haha. I was measuring, but I don't think I measured in the same places because I was showing inches gained. So I stopped…

That's awesome! I'm glad you mentioned that about being realistic. I think that's where I've failed with weight loss before is setting unrealistic goals and then being disappointed and giving up. Yay for realistic goals and expectations of ourselves!! You are going to improve your time for sure!!
-
Diana- this is great! You've improved quite a bit in a short time! I agree that it's a good idea to create a positive environment. I notice a difference in days when I'm walking and I tell myself "Man, I really didn't want to walk today. I have all this other stuff that needs to be done and I'm tired." and the days when I…

Thank you all for the advice. I won't be able to start running until I meet with my doctor because she has said that she doesn't want me running yet because she doesn't want me to disrupt the bulging discs I have in my lower back. But she has said that I will be able to one day. Now that I've lost 40lbs, hoping to lose…

Thanks! I do both actually. When I walk at work, it's a loop. When I go to the lake, it's walking one way and then tracing back. I'm wearing shoes to comfort my heel spur or else I'd look at going to a running store. Actually, I'm not even sure where a running store is. Do you mean a shoe store? I'm thinking about getting…

I enjoyed reading that lissa! You're right though. What's the alternative? Each year, my kids participate our marathon event. They do the kids run which is logging 25 miles of walking/running and then running the last 1.2 miles on event day to equal the length of a full marathon. The marathon has different events. The full…

Thank you! My back doesn't bother me as much as it did. This time last year, I was in so much pain that it hurt no matter what I did, whether I was walking, standing, sitting, or laying down. Now it only hurts after I've done a lot of activity and then sit down for a few minutes....when I get up, Ouch!! But I'm hoping that…

Thanks! Seems to be what I'm starting to do. I've heard many people say that when you feel like you can't go anymore, go a little further because you can. So, I want to push my body and test it to reach my full potential, as I've noticed some pain comes and then goes away if I just keep going and sometimes it helps if I…

Do you weight train at a gym or at home? I spend too much time away from the house as it is, so I hope this will work with home workouts of some kind.

Wow. Thanks for all the advice on #2. I never thought to use lotion and that staying hydrated helped that (only knew that it's important to stay hydrated. lol). Guess I need to look up some crunches that are going to be safe for my back and find my hand weights and actually stay consistent with it. And I hope your hip…

I've only finished 2 months of losing weight. I stopped drinking soda, sticking to my calorie limit set by MFP, and staying under the 150g carbs/day that my nutritionist told me to do. And I've been walking alot (jus did my first 5K yesterday). I've heard that when you have a lot of weight to lose, it comes off rather…

I'm 5'9. My highest weight was 299. At 274 now. Goal is 140-145. I'll just have to see. While I love the thought of a number, whether it's a scale's number or a certain clothing size, ultimately, I want to feel good and be able to do all the things I want to do.
-
No weigh in for week 3 because my scale at home isn't working and my numbers are based on the one at the doctor's office. So I'll be weighing in on Monday. How's everyone doing?
-
Again, great job girl! Losing another 61 won't put you underweight, will it?
-
I have lost 25lbs, but have 134lb more to go.

I yawned twice while reading your post. It is very contagious! Haha. How weird is that?! Another thing, sometimes when I yawn, I get a killer cramp on one side under my jaw bone. My dad does too. It hurt super bad so if I feel like the yawn is going to make it cramp again, I do my best to avoid it. Haha

Hmm, wishes, huh? Not sure. I feel odd saying "wish" for certain things that I am thinking of because it makes me think that wishing won't get me there, so I have set goals. So intead, I'll say "I want to...." - see my children grow up healthy - graduate college - run a marathon - go kayaking - and walk down the hall…

That's awesome! I think that's the key to success with our health! The mind is apowerful thing.

I wouldn't suggest it. I've done it. Staying within 500 calories was awful! I did lose some weight, but I think the way I'm doing it now is better for me. It's a lifestyle change and I had to let go of my fantasy to see quick changes that were going to last a lifetime, using a temporary diet.
-
I'm in! Lost 13lbs in March, so I'm gonna lose 10 more in April!
-
Slice1- Thank you. It is hard (all of it, weight, school, parenting), but not impossible. One day, I'll accomplish what I've set out to. One day I'll graduate, one day I'll run a marathon, and one day I'll have the energy I want to keep up with my kids.

But it's true. I am not happy with my job, but that's why I'm going to school to do what I want to do. So now, i approach this job differently- not like "Ugh, I hate my job. Why do I have to come here?" but now as "Okay, time to make money to pay the bills. Just a little while longer until I finish my degree."
-
I love this too! It's so true. It is so easy to make the unhealthy choices. And I'm an example of that. I mean, things I've heard for years and "knew" didn't actually make sense to me until I decided to take my health seriously and make lifestyle changes, reminding myself that my health, my children, and my happiness is…

Haha. I just wrote a blog about this yesterday. It's called "Got Knocked Down But Getting Back Up". I have slip ups and that's where I've failed in the past. I used to slip up and then get mad at myself, so mad that I'd just say well if I'm gonna blow it, I'm gonna blow it for sure! And do even more damage and quit. This…
