Oh yeah....bacon.

I usually just do salt and pepper. But I have mixed in cheese and diced jalapeños before too...soooo yummy! I use a hot skillet for the initial sear flipping once, then turn heat down to medium, and cover because though I like my steaks medium rare, I want my burgers cooked through.

Hearing my friend who carries all her excess weight around her middle, say she's now diabetic and having slight heart issues. Hearing same friend tell me she snacks all day long. That same friend exclaiming over the weight I have lost.

But exercise is not really for weight loss. It is for health. You don't have to get sweaty really, just be active a little bit every day. Your lungs and heart will thank you for it.

Well I am not post menopausal yet LOL! I do try and rest a day after a workout like that, but I do them 4-5 ...maybe I should slow one day down.

Ok, so, my 30 mins on the elliptical with heart averaging between 142-159 was not so good then?

Is this a contest? Is there a prize?

That is fantastic.

@parkdad73 I did notice that unless I concentrated very hard and really worked at it, that I wobbled a lot, so yeah, I can see where that would be true. Thankfully I did not drop anything, this isn't a "lifting" sort of gym and they even have a sign posted about not dropping the free weights LOL. I certainly found it much…

I question everything. Doctors tell me one thing, I experience something else. They said I can't lift weights, I do it three times a week and feel better than I have in three years. Then I read that I should lift heavy, then the RT tells me no, I should do more reps. It's all very confusing, even just the exercise part of…

Just copy the web address of the group page in your browsers address bar and paste it into your post on the forums.

Awesome progress!!!! Can really see a difference. Keep up the great work!!

I might have to disagree there. I go to the gym, three, sometimes four times a week, and work out at home all but one other day. It's hard. REALLY hard. I wheel my oxygen around the gym and do things my doctors told me I could never do. And it's HARD. I have cried. But I also feel better than I have in the three years…

Wonderful post. The blog that was linked was even better, for me anyway. I can be a bit "overly honest" and he cracked me up. He was right. Every. Single. Thing. If he didn't curse so much (which I don't mind, but I know some do) I would link that blog every-freakin-where!

Great article. Which I am going to show to my damn cardiologist the next time he scolds me for eating a pat of butter on my broccoli!
-
Yay on the blood work!!! Whoa!! On the unintentional almost mooning of Whole Foods LOL!

All I can really see that you can do, is keep up YOUR great attitude and just be glad you aren't married to or friends with someone like that. What a jerk.

I live on Hollywood Beach as well, if you are going to the one on Young Circle in downtown, they have fruit cups, yogurts and some good "snack boxes" with hard boiled eggs, fruit and the like. As far as a drink, iced tea, hot tea, or maybe just iced coffee with soy or coconut milk.

I have looked at his program and like it, but we don't have a power rack, only a smith machine which I have been told not to use as it fosters bad form. I have just sort of cobbled together a routine based on SL 5x5 and Strong Curves, and what I see other people doing. Modified to suit the fact that medically I am a hot…

See! You are a bad *kitten*! I started at three minutes, hurt so bad I got nauseous. Now I can do 30. Just keep on keepin on!

I did it with dumbbells today. Was only able to 15# ones, but it is a start. Not ready for the bar yet as it weighs 45#.
-
Thank you! I will try that today!

What Wab said! Hey, you can come to Florida and be my lifting buddy (sorry, just started a thread about how I need one LOL)
-
I can't do a real push up yet :/ As far as a spotting partner goes, there is never really anyone there when I go, and never the same person twice really, so I don't know who I'd ask.

I am watching.....scared yet to try it myself, but very interested to know, because I had been stuck for a long time, and just over the last week, when I actually ate more than usual, I lost a pound. Sooo.....just watching for now, but.....

The reason she said not to take them is that too much potassium can be as dangerous as too little. She may have asked you about your urine and such because some people equate keto with very high protein, which can be hard on the kidneys which can cause too much potassium which is...see where I am going here? LOL. If you…

The heart palpitations and twitching sound like what happens to me when my potassium is WAY too low. Go to the Doctor, as that can be quite dangerous. Having experienced what I have with that problem, I would go to the ER, but I am not a Dr, and you know how you feel better than I do.

Very good points, and congratulations on your success and awesome outlook!

You may want to keep your fruits to berries if you do want fruit, as they have less sugar. Green, above ground veggies are best. You are good with the protein shake, maybe leave out the whole milk as there is a lot of sugar there too. Portion size is important, and you will see that you have an easier time controlling it…

I am so sorry you have to go through all that again! As far as groups go....I was part of one but no one ever posted in there so I left it and haven't been able to find it again. Maybe you could post in a few of the general forums with link to the group.
