  • Oh man!! That bites! So sorry to hear!! Hang in there!
  • My Fitbit One was under estimating my TDEE...I have the Charge HR and I am getting a lot higher burns than what my zone gave me but am still Leary that it could be underestimating. I am upping my calories to see where it takes me (as scary as that is)
  • Congrats on your loss! Great to hear!
  • Hi MandaLeigh123 how long did you stay at each before you upped your calories again?
  • I had a Fitbit One and now the Charge HR. The HR gives me a waaaay more accurate calorie burn vs my One. I have worn my HR to weddings and work functions just paired it with another bracelet to sort of disguise it. The heart rate monitor compared to my chest strap. My only con for the HR is battery life which is 4-5 days…
  • @heybales...been letting Fitbit do the work as most of my activity is step based. If it would not be I would've logging it on fit it's site
  • I love cardio too as it makes me feel like I got something accomplished. Getting better and strength training. I used to do T25 6 days a week. I cut back to two-three days-doing some of the strength/aerobics DVDS of T25, and then I walk every day. My dietician told me our ancestors used to walk everywhere before they had…
  • @CLS67 & CarrieBeard: I'm at weight watcher flunky (7 times) based on the eat less move more motto. I found out by weight watchers I was eating very little calories for what I needed, and when I hit a plateau and wasn't losing they couldn't help me figure out my activity as that's not what they are trained in. When I first…
  • @Bonniejo-I am losing (for now anyhow)!! Shockingly...its a small amount. I've lost 2.5 lbs in almost 5 weeks...about .5 pound per week. I took the recommendations from a very knowledgeable person on this site!! Its going super slow but at least its moving in the right direction. I can no longer lose 5lbs per week like I…
  • I'm four weeks into this and by no means any expert, but it is scary. I upped my calories from 1800 to 2150 and now just recently upped again to 2250, the weight is starting to come off...seeing differences in my skin and all. Still in the testing out stages, but I feel good!!
  • I just got the Charge HR. I had the Fitbit One...the Fitbit One was under reporting what I was burning. I'm getting a more accurate burn with the Charge HR. The fitbit One said I burned 23-2400 calories per day...where I'm now seeing a 26-2700 burn...(I'm fairly active) and I'm losing now because I'm eating more for teh…
  • @DigitalDiana yes I too "try" to eat lower carb, not always but I try. I notice if I cut back on carbs I feel less bloated too. Yes corn and peas are a starch must eat those within reason. Bananas are high in carbs too.
  • I kept stats of what I was eating, what I was burning (per my Fitbit One-23-2400 cals per day) for two years...eating at 1850-2000 cals per day and working out. I took it to my doctor and said besides being peri menopause..tell me why I am not losing oodles of weight, when I should be!!She looked at all my numbers and…
  • As a mom, we burn more than we think we do! At least that's what I am learning!! Try it for four weeks and see what happens! Best of luck!!
  • Our ancestors used to walk everywhere! Walk on!

  • Congrats on your loss!!! That's awesome!!! I had a dietician tell me once, NOT to eat back my exercise calories! And kept me in a low cal diet. After consulting with someone on here, the next day (I had my appt pre-scheduled) I met with that dietician again...however this time I was equipped with two years of stats of…
  • So do you think I need to add faster paced step count in the Run Stride? @Heybales. I used the MappedMeter.com you advised off. That had shown my route just slightly less than 2 miles. So thinking maybe its my stride I have to adjust--but would I put that under the running one if I'm walking fast? Would it think I'm…
  • I'm still in the testing stages of using mine. When compared to my heart rate/monitor chest strap-it was only 25-35 calorie burn different. I used to have a Fitbit One and it always told me I burned 2300-2400 calories per day. So I ate between 1800-2000 and was not losing. Someone suggested that maybe fitbit One maybe…
  • I am 46 and a little over a week ago I increased my calories. I was eating between 1800-2000 calories per day...my Fitbit TDEE was 23-2400..... Or so I thought. I increased to 2150 a little over a week ago and lost a pound this past week!!! I am noticing a few other differences too. I am peri menopause and had a partial…
  • @Christinev297 because I've finally started losing now. I'm still testing it out. If you want, friend me and I can keep you posted. Just a side note--saw this on one of Heybales posts on the fitbit app: Exercise is usually underestimated too, because Fitbit doesn't know increased effort and calorie burn from inclines, or…
  • @ Christinev297...with my One underestimating, I was eating two low of a calorie range--too big of a deficit--therefore my body was hanging on to everything and I wasn't losing. I'm way more active and burn way more than I thought or than what my One was telling me. Once I upped my calories, I started losing. Everyone is…
  • I had a fitbit one and just recently upgraded to the charge HR... Had no idea how much my Fitbit one was under estimating my calorie burn! The charge seems to be more accurate for me.
  • I know you didn't post this to me, but I just have to chime in as I'm finding the same issue. I have a fitbit One, I have my height, weight, and age in my account plus my strides which I've tested over and over. I'm finding that m fitibit One was underestimating my activity as well. I just recently purchased the Fitbit…
  • I too had to set my stride length. Couldn't believe the difference.
  • Walk to and from you desk to your car in the parkinglot if you have one there, or to your bus stop and back, for a mini break. Take the long route to the bathroom, take the long route to your co-workers desk..meetings, etc. If you don't have any of those, stand up at your desk and do some steps in place if you…
  • I did a T25 workout using my charge HR and my old heart rate monitor. My heart rate monitor acted up the first part of the work out (too high number) then got it working but overall it was only 32 cals different
  • I just bought the Charge HR as well, and I also do T25. Curious to see what others say. Tomorrow I'm going to put on my heart rate monitor and test it out by comparing the two when I do the work out. Will let you know my results. Today I did a less impact workout-a walking video. I put both on and my heart rate monitor was…
  • Boy! Thanks Sabine for posting this blog!! I book marked this as a reminder!!
  • Stair count-I even noticed with my fitibit One, that the stair count was inflated from walking up hills. :-) Great feedback everyone ! Thanks!
  • Well, test results are normal - but proved what I already know. I'm fat! ha ha!! So if all is normal, then I need to figure out what I need to do to help my body lose weight. UGH!!
