I'm not sure I'll ever really see myself as a skinny person. I can tell I'm smaller and I've had that moment looking at old pictures and going, wait who is that and then the realization hits that it's me. When you've been the fat person for 25 years it can be difficult to see yourself as anything but. I'm in a much better…

Did you take starting measurements along with your weight? I've found at times my weight doesn't change but my measurements do.

Seeing the progress I've made over my journey. Especially figuring out that I'm back to the smallest I've ever been!

Congrats! I dream of the day I'm in a size 8. It's always been my goal. I'm hovering between a 10 and 12 right now so it's not such a far off goal. It'll just take a great deal of work to get there!

Ice cream and or chocolate. Those are my standards and favorites.

I'll admit I didn't have a favorite sport or activity as a child. I was never active then and am in better shape and more active now than I ever dreamed of being then. Weight has always been an issue for me and I was a klutz as a child. I'd love to take dance classes but I live in a rural area and there's nothing close…

Septermber Goals: 1 - Get my BMI down to the overweight range from obese (I really hate the BMI, but I would feel better knowing I'm no longer classified as obese) 2 - Fit back into my Lucky jeans comfortably 3 - Fit back into my skinny jeans 4 - Lose at least a pound a week

Remember this is chaning your life forever, not just for right now.

My family loves Mexican and we're regulars at the local Mexican resturant to the point that the staff knows us and tries to celebrate our birthday's each time we go in. We try to tell them it's not anyone's birthday but they still try. Anyway I usually just try to eat better earlier in the day, try and limit my chips, and…

2995 calories burnt as of today! I got there a day early! I hope everyone else can reach their goals this week.

Ah yes, what I love to refer to as my genetic arm flab. Both of my grandmother's had terribly flabby arms so I'm thinking I'm stuck with it. I can tone it some probably, but I think a little will always remain.

I'm in!

It depended who it was. I had some family notice something when I'd only lost 5-10 pounds. Other people it took me losing 30 before they noticed. I think it can be based on how observant people are.

Congrats! You're doing great with your commitment!

1940 this week so far!

Feel free to add me. I log daily and try to add encouragement for my friends. I've got about 20 pounds to my first GW, then I'll evaluate and see how much more I need to lose. Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Weight Loss Tools

Welcome! Good luck with your goals. All it takes is the right attitude and the realization that the weight will not fall off overnight. It takes work and dedication and it sounds like you've got the right idea that it's easier to do this the right way and not rely on a fad diet. Created by MyFitnessPal.com - Free Weight…

Total calories burned since Sunday: 3161. Woot! Met my goal already, everything else is just a bonus!
-
Up to 1939 so far. I may have under estimated my calories for the week . . . I don't usually pay attention to what I burn in a week so this is eyeopening.
-
So far between Sunday and Monday I'm at 1315 calories burned through regular exercise. This puts me well on my way to hitting my goal for the week!

5'7" with a 6in wrist = small frame and 123-136 pounds Wow - that's interesting. Currently my goal is 175 pounds and then I'll evaluate to determine how much more I plan to lose. This is a great deal more than what this calculator says I should weigh . . . I think I'd be entirely too skinny and people would start force…

I'm in! I'll aim for 3000-3500 calories burned. I try to hit 500 each day with exercise so hopefully I can manage that this week. Most weeks I do unless I'm traveling or sick, or something comes up. With most of my aunts currently facing health problems it could be a challenge this week but I'm up for it!

I have come to the realization that a "healthy" BMI is not an obtainable or realistic goal for myself. I'm 5'7" and weigh 195 pounds which puts my BMI at 30.5 - still considered obese. I wear a size 12 and am starting to fit into size 10's. I'd have to lose close to 40 more pounds to hit the very highest range of the BMI…

That's my theory too! I hate the websites that try to make you a pear by only factoring in the hips, waist and bust. Shoulders should be in that too - becuase I don't have the narrow shoulders to be a pear - my shoulders are the same width as my hips. As for the OP I'd call you an hourglass easily. You've got great curves!

I am 12.5% smaller than I think I am which backs up a friend who has been telling me I'm smaller than I realize. I admitted this to her and she was very much I told you so. I think when you've been so large for so long it's more difficult to see yourself skinnier, you expect to see a larger person in the mirror so that's…

First - congrats for keeping so much of the weight off for over a year. I know for a fact this is not an easy thing to do and it's simple to backslide. I did this and am now struggling to get back to where I was at my smallest. First it was little things, then bigger things and then a very stressful period in my life. Now…

Well, it looks like 2.5 pounds is it for me on this challenge. I did go back to using weights in this time so that's probably why. I always tend to stay the same or go up in weight when I first start using weights.

Thanks for sharing! I'm trying to convince myself the scale is not the all important measure of progress. Currently I weigh 195 pounds and am 5'7" tall, but am starting to fit back into my size 10s I wore when I was in the 170s last time. I'm in that between sizes point where my 12s are getting lose and I need a belt but…

I'm in for losing at least 5 pounds in August! I have the goal to be down to 190 by Labor Day so this will be a great way to help me meet that goal!

I'm 5'7" SW: 230 CW: 195 1st GW: 175 - then I'll see how I'm doing and decide how much more if any I hope to lose. For me it's not just what the scale says, it's what I look like. I realize the scale will always be higher than I'd like to see because of my body composition. This has been difficult to accept but I'm getting…
