I'm curious how accurate this calculator is.
Enter in your gender, height, and wrist circumference.
http://health.bizcalcs.com/Calculator.asp?Calc=Frame-Size-Wrist
What is your frame size and ideal weight?
Does your ideal weight range match your current weight goal?
example:
I am female, 5'8", small frame, and it says my Ideal Weight is 126 lbs - 139 lbs.
This matches my goal.
Okay, your turn.

Medium frame, says I should be 157-170. Im almost at my goal of 190! So this is off just a tad for me!
I'm 6'0 male.0 -
It says "undefined" when I put my stats in.0

I'm 5'5" and 248 pounds. My wrist is 7" it says I'm large frame and my goal should be 138-155 and my actual goal is 150. I know that my wrist is smaller than 7" when I lose weight so I seriously doubt I'm actually large frame.. BUT it also states that women 5'2" to 5'5" with a wrist over 6.25 are considered large frame.. I don't think that my wrist will be under 6.25 even at 150 so I guess according to them I am large frame... though I always considered myself to have a medium frame.0

Frame size: medium
Ideal weight: 118-136
It doesn't match my goal of 140# but it's within the BMI range for my height (108-136). I picked 140 to have a number goal. The calculator might be accurate for the math, but it doesn't match with what I want to weigh.0 -
I'm 5 foot 4 large frame and I set my goal at 150. It says ideal weight is 134-151 so I'm just within. Depending on how I look when I get there I may change my goal to 145.0
-
I am medium build, and my ideal weight is around 130-145. My ultimate goal is around 140-145. I've always thought I looked my best just under 150.0
-
5'6" large frame, 140-159
I'd like to be 170 because I know I felt great at that weight before.0 -
5'7" Large frame 143-163lbs
My goal is 161lbs, so I'm within the range.0 -
5'7", medium frame, ideal range is 133-147, and my goal is 140.0
-
170cm, Large Frame, ideal size 65-64 kg. My Goal weight is 60kg, so I guess I am aiming too low?0
-
I'm 5'3" & it gives me Large frame, I'd say more medium & it says 147lbs ideal weight & my goal is 126-130lbs0
-
i don't think so. i would be way to skinning. my goal is 180
Gender Male
Height 5 ft 9 in
Wrist Circumference 7.5 in
Frame Size Medium = Height more than 5 ft 5 in and wrist between 6.5 in and 7.5 in
Ideal Weight 148 lbs - 160 lbs0 -
I am female, 5'5 and a wrist circumference of 5.75 inches, so I guess I'm small framed.
Ideal is 117 lbs - 130 lbs with my goal weight being 125 I'm fitting pretty snug. However it's always been very difficult for me to keep at 125 lbs and 130 always makes me feel so bad.0 -
I'm a 5'2" female, small frame, Ideal Weight: 108 lbs - 121 lbs
goal is about 1050 -
5'1"
frame size = large
ideal weight = 125-140lb
This is pretty accurate for me. I was 130lb @ 22% body fat.... currently 135ish and bulking my way up to 140 (give or take... it's strength gains I'm after, not all that bothered about scale weight), body fat % is still in the low 20s.
but I'll still take body fat % over a calculator like this........ Someone's wrist size may not actually match their overall frame size, and if someone is very fat, and has fat around their wrists, that will confound the reading... wrist measurement is about the size of the joint, not any fat around the joint (large framed people tend to have larger joints)0 -
I'm 5' 6 1/2 and weigh 130 so I'm at the very bottom of the range.0
-
small frame 123-136lbs.
hmm I'm 5'7" I'm surprised, this is actually lighter than my original goal. I was aiming towards 150-140lbs Interesting0 -
Mine says small frame (!). So I could lose 5-18 more lbs (current BMI is 22.7). I would be okay with 5, but historically if I lose more than that I get a LOT of negative feedback.0

5'8 large frame ideal weight 143-167...currently 163, goal weight 155.... Fits right to my goals...0

These frame calculators drive me crazy. I have a 5.8" wrist which is tiny but the rest of me is hour glass shape with wide hips and bust. The calculator puts me at a small frame but I do not have a small frame. I guess my goal of 130 is right at the top of their recommendation of 117 to 130, however, at 117, I would look ill. Sheesh!0

Ok, I did the elbow and wrist.... Elbow large frame, wrist small... I've already been told by my Dr I'm a large frame...and I agree Danni, at 117 I would look like I was near death... I'm already very boney0 -
5ft 2in
Current weight 145lbs
Large frame (16in wrist)
Ideal weight 128-143lbs
My goal weight is 130lbs (I'd even be happy losing 10lbs and getting to 135lb!0 -
5'7" Large Frame (7" wrist)
CW 186.8
Says 143-163 for me
My goal = 1600 -

5' 8" says i should weigh 146-167. my goal is 155 so it's right in the middle. Problem with that is; my wrist is chunky too, so what happens when i get to 155 and my wrist is smaller...lose another 15 pounds?0

This is exactly what I mean (see my earlier post) - wrist size is used because it generally correlates with frame size, but doesn't in every individual. Shoulder width, rib cage width/depth and pelvis width is what makes someone actually large or small framed.
My wrists don't match my frame size. My wrists are 6.25" which is large framed for a 5'1" person, but at 5'2" the same wrist size is classified as medium framed........... yet my shoulders and rib cage circumference are bigger than many women who are much taller than me, there's no way my rib cage and shoulder size would be considered as medium framed on a 5'2" woman. Plus I have relatively short shins, an inch more shin bone would make my leg proportions a bit more average and make me 5'2", but isn't going to add more than 1lb to my weight, and my ribs and shoulders would still be just as mahoosive.0 -
Frame Size Large
Ideal Weight 128 lbs - 143 lbs
my goal is 1300 -
5'8" - with 7" wrist (large frame) 146-167
my goal is 1500 -
I'm 5'8", large frame. I don't want to be under 150 lb.0
-
5'7" with a 6in wrist = small frame and 123-136 pounds
Wow - that's interesting. Currently my goal is 175 pounds and then I'll evaluate to determine how much more I plan to lose. This is a great deal more than what this calculator says I should weigh . . . I think I'd be entirely too skinny and people would start force feeding me if I actually got to be that small . . . I just have small wrists, but my shoulders and hips are broad along with a curvy bum.0
