Bingo. I said the same thing haha

30DS is an excellent place to begin. Many people drop pounds, inches, and then tone

sounds right to me!

protein is based on LBM (lean body mass) not the entirety of body weight. You need to know your BF (body fat) percentage first, to know your lean body mass. there are various calculators online. also, cardio can be counterproductive with strength training (you can actually lose muscle. cardio is great for strengthening…

you should be so proud of yourself :)

Just eat something high in fiber, take your vitamins, and you'll get the same results. Oh, and exercise.

Just wanted to BUMP this because this is a problem for me. I want legitimate friends on here, and people are being deceitful and adding me under the guise of support, only to attempt to sell me something by beach body. NOT happy.

bump! perfect timing...I've been on the search for this info!

I am going to request that from my library, thanks!

I do horseback riding, and even though it burns calories, it's something I do as a leisure activity. Tennis is a cool idea. Or maybe I can take up a form of dance like you mentioned.

Thanks again, so much! That was really helpful and gives me a good direction to start in :)

I was always the kid that was just naturally skinny and had no interest in exercising. Now I am trying to make it a lifestyle thing in addition to being a healthy weight and size. So I'm trying to find ways to keep myself interested. Capoeira is pretty sweet ;)

Thanks so much! I was starting to hear about Stronglifts. Does it include legs and abdominals?

Yeah - I'm a beginner runner. Do you know of any good references for interval training?

Thanks for the reply! Last year I dropped 10lbs in one month with her 30DS. I can't wait to add in the jogging then to see what happens now :)

per Jillian Michaels, I do not eat past 9pm because that's when your body's ghrelin hormone (the one that helps process food) beings to lower for the night...i.e. food you eat is more likely to store to fat than be processed efficiently. Her book "Mastering Your Metabolism" is great describing this.

I agree, too. It can be a fancy pedometer if you want it too, or you can use it to motivate and make changes. Plus the sleep tracking feature is great, as well as using it to exactly time your activities - which you can then add into MFP. You would want a HRM to find out exact details of calorie burning (I'll get one soon…

Not sure how the fitbit differs from the bodybugg, but I loveeeee my Fitbit. I haven't started a true exercise schedule yet, but my Fitbit gives so much more insight when paired with MFP, than just using MFP alone. I already lost 5lbs with it in a couple of weeks because I can better understand what I am doing/not doing.…

being more active than sedentary per my Fitbit :)

Whoo! Thanks so so so so much for taking the time to reply with the wealth of information. I really appreciate it!

I don't have a 100lbs to lose, but I need some major motivation and accountability so feel free to add me :) I am a horse owner and rarely ride these days between working full-time and then having bad weather.

Today is my first day using the Fitbit...I am amazed by its features and simplicity! I think it's going to be addicting to be healthy judging by the looks of it :D
-
after all the talk about it recently, I'm looking at getting one. Anyone know how they compare to Bodybuggs?

Thank you everyone, very thoughtful advice and good suggestions! I really appreciate you all taking the time for me :)

Hi, my name is Lauren. I'm currently 136. My ideal weight for comfort and health is about 125. Between recently acquiring a desk job and having limited time to eat, I've been make poor choices for food and not exercising like I should be...so 10lbs quickly packed on. I'd like to refocus my efforts! Losing 10lbs in a month…
