You've so got this. If you need any pointers feel free to message me. It's been a LOT of trial and error but I'm gettin there!
-
You'll get there!

I think that's the direction I want to take my blog! I want people to know that you can do it and successfully without injury. I want to be an advocate for big girl runners :)

Hi! Thank you so much! Tomorrow I'm going to do a post about the actual 5k and some tips. On the right-hand side, at the top it says "subscribe to". You can just click that if you want to follow along :)
-
Thanks guys!! I continue to be amazed by the mental limits we put on ourselves that are so much lower than our actual physical limits. Once you can push through those the possibilities are endless.

Dave, Speed is so hard to increase! I'm running another race in a few weeks and I really want to do it in under 40 minutes (my first 5k was 42:43). I tired out that last mile. I've always heard that you should work on increasing distance and speed will come. You'll love your first race. It's addicting :)

Thanks everyone for being so kind and encouraging!
-
Don't be nervous!! You are going to rock your 5k! Don't be scared to run intervals if you need to. :)
-
I don't know if this will help you but C25K did not work for me. If it does for you go for it! but I just couldn't run for 20 minutes straight so I'd always give up. I've build my endurance with interval training. If you want more info on that let me know!

You can do it! I promise. I also thing some people walk faster than I run. It's all mental. My lungs burned. My legs burned but I just kept going. You've got this in the bag!!

I think I'm going to do the following and I'll update you guys: 1. Eat out less. I look up the calories but there is so much variation - especially at places like Chipotle where one persons bowl could be hundreds of calories different than another worker...and can I just say SODIUM. 2. Stop eating back all of my exercise…

Haha. You know it's funny. When I started running I was most scared of the gorgeous girls who would run past me at 3x the rate that I run and think "what is this fat girl doing running?!" But I've gotten more thumbs ups, more "great jobs", more support and encouragement than I gave anyone credit for. People have been so…

Thank you guys so much. A few of your comments made me a little teary. It's just so hard because I do NOT run to lose weight. I run to push myself, to test my limits, to forget my day, to feel strong, etc etc etc but I'm so unhappy with my weight that it's frustrating to see the scale just go up and up and up over the last…

Thank you! I agree with the time piece. The cool thing is that I started run/walking slow 1:1's so my time was 15:30. Now I'm doing 1.5/1's and I'm at about 13:30. I'm about to move to 2:1's because my aerobic endurance is getting so much better so my time is decreasing due to my endurance increasing but I'm still a…

This is a big....embarrassing worry of mine so honestly I'm glad you posted it. As far as porn sites...if someone gets excited over seeing the top of a vag...well...to each their own. I doubt you'll get pictures but I would like to hear success stories about this. I'm honestly worried that after I'm done losing weight I'll…

Hey! Here are some ideas for you: 1. I buy a rotisserie chicken at the store and buy the prepackaged salad bags and put some with that. I also make homemade chicken salad but with avocado instead of mayo and whole wheat crackers. 2. I eat a lot of peanut butter and banana sandwiches on wheat 3. yogurts, yogurt, yogurt. 4.…

You continue to say that no suggestions are sticking. We can't physically peel your *kitten* from a couch. You want it? Do it. You don't want it bad enough to move? Stop complaining.
-
Ok OP. You sound super young and immature. Let me tell you what's going to happen. You are either going to get off your keester and change your life for the better or you are going to continue to be lazy and continue to gain weight. Complaining - projecting blame - shutting down others suggestions means you are not ready…

HOLY ****TTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You look amazing.

PB2 is just crushed peanuts where the oil has been compressed out and then they are powdered and I "Think" tthey add sugar. But because there is no oil the calories are way less. You mix it with water. Its good. Not great but good.

I had a small amount of wheat for the first time yesterday and woke up with a killer migraine today...I won't be doing that again for a bit...

You are such a beauty! I'm jealous of your curves!!! I'm so sorry to hear about all your circumstance but you are doing the right thing by taking care of yourself. If you take care of yourself you'll be able to handle everything else life throws at you.

A weight fluctuation of 4 pounds in one day can occur from eating too much sodium. It can also just be normal weight fluctuations due to hormones, activity etc. You just started on Thursday. You need to give it time. Weigh yourself once a week instead of every day. I'm sure you are doing just fine :) try to be patient.

Well....I tried to lose weight and basically starved myself for 4 months only to lose and regain the same 5 pounds. I started Metformin and I'm down 17 pounds in about 2 months. It's a lifesaver. I had bad GI side effects in the beginning but no longer. I try not to eat a large amount of simple carbs but I didn't…

I swear by metformin. I SWEAR by it. I tried losing the same 5 pounds since October got on Metformin and lost 13. It's incredible!
-
I know that its controversial, I know...but I can't explain to you how much Metformin changed my life. I literally busted my butt from October - January 31 and stayed the same with my weight. I did Zumba, I stopped eating fast food, soda, etc I did EVERYTHING I could think of and I reduced my calories. NOTHING. I went on…

Been there....oh how I've been there. I get angry and then binge for days and it's no good. Go workout. Go outside and take a walk. Do a workout video - do something. This is a journey, it's a learning process, you need to be kind to yourself.
-
I know it's hard but you are obsessing over the scale too much. From mid January to now you've lost 12 pounds. That's an incredible loss. You need to just keep doing what you are doing. This is new for your body and you need time to adjust. Your results are great :)
