  • Sure, why not treat yourself all day. For most of us, we will be counting calories for more than a couple months. You'll probably end up going a tad crazy if you don't give yourself a cheat day here and there. As long as you're not doing it frequently there's no harm. Lately I give myself a cheat day every other week. I…
  • For a low cal dressing, I like Kraft Fat Free Zesty Italian. It's 15 calories for 2 tbsp.
  • I don't exercise when I'm sick. I figure my body needs to use all of its resources to get better instead of using my energy and resources to recover from workouts.
  • It's fine unless your calorie goal is 1200, because you'd only be consuming 1000. If you're eating at least 1200 everyday, I don't think you have anything to worry about.
  • I like to munch on a whole tomato (usually about 35 cals) by sprinkling salt on it. I did it so much I got sick of it though. I also like all the Nabisco 100 Calorie Packs, especially the Wheat Thins because I love salty crunchy foods.
  • I did that last week, probably more like 1200 calories in alcohol and french fries. I consciously did it though, since I hadn't drank in 6 months and was celebrating a new job. It was my cheat day. I just maintained my normal diet and exercise the rest of the week and my body actually surprised me by staying the same…

  • I agree with you. I've been vegan for about 9 years now. There's no way to know how slaughtered animals (or dairy cows, etc.) are treated unless you live on a farm and raise the animals yourself. I'm sure there's people out there that eat "free-range" eggs and "humane" meat but there are no regulations for putting those…
  • I tried Slimquick and Metabolife Ultra (separately) for a few weeks. Both gave me heart palpitations on half the recommended dosage. I tried the full dose a couple times but it made me insanely jittery and way too hyper, even though they claim to have the same caffeine content as a cup of coffee. Just stay away from them,…
  • Ok, so now you just need to figure out your calorie goal. There's a link on the BMR website: http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/harris-benedict-equation/ For example, if you're lightly active: 1758 x 1.375 = 2417.25 calories per day to maintain your weight Since there's 3500 calories in a pound and 500 x 7 days =…
  • You might want to check out your BMR and then figure out your calorie needs: http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/ Depending on your results, you may still be able to lose weight and keep a little bit higher calorie goal. I started my goal at 1457 calories and moved down to 1350 after losing 6 pounds. I know I…
  • The entire "Smash" album by The Offspring. It's amazing
  • I only started taking fish oil a few days ago for acne. I take 4 capsules a day, which is just about 3 grams of EPA and DHA combined, but that might be more than needed for someone without skin issues. I bought Norwegian Gold Critical Omega from Whole Foods. It's enteric coated to help with digestion and it's supposed to…
  • That's cool, I'll have to try eating there sometime since they have vegan options too.
  • I think anything Lady Gaga would be good. It's just upbeat and fun.
